Thank you! My early videos had music sometimes, but not anymore. I try to make videos the way I would want them done. No fluff, no life stories, answer every question I can think of and show everything up close. Thank you for appreciating that!
You are amazing. Thank you so much. When I was a kid, I saw people made wood wax from beeswax + coconut oil, then they wax wood floor and all wood furniture with coconut hush.
This is exactly what I need to rejuvenate my chalky paint job. Australia UV kills everything. I bought a special heavy duty custom tarp with a 25 year guarantee. I've had it for 4 years now and I can see signs of perishing but still seals. Excellent video! Thanks heaps. Cheers from Australia 🙂👍👍👍
Thank u sooooOoo much for ur homemade wax recipe, its so kind of u to hve shared ur wonderful recipe with us.. Just received d ingredients 2make ur wax..I’m going to split 1/2 of the amount of clear wax 2hve just clear wax, the other 1/2 I will mix into it some white chalk paint to make white wax😀Im a new sub looking forward2more of ur wonderful tutorials👍🏻 Big huge hugs from LV-NV🥰
If I were to add powder pigment is it ideal to add them while the mixture is liquidy and hot?( Easier to get rid of lumps) than it would be if I addin the mixture after it solidify and at room temp?? Thx😄😄🐔🐔
I just made some of your wax. It’s a bit grainy but I don’t think it’s effecting the quality. I used it on some debis design diary paint and it looks pretty good. I’ll buff in the morning and see how it goes. Thank you so much for sharing!
@@theaudreycoley yes I think you correct on the cloudy thing. The ingredients were not completely melted so some un-melted granules were present. You can re-heat it until it’s clear then follow the rest of the directions and it won’t have granules.
I wonder if this would work as a spray wax for chalk painted fabric and upholstery? If not hopefully that's your next video! Thank you so much for the recipe and info!
It could but---I recommend latex satin paint for furniture over chalk paint. The wax won't work on all upholstery, it drastically changes some of it. I personally like latex on fabric a lot more. Plus it is cheaper and no wax needed. I am doing a video on this in the next couple weeks.
I was literally just watching another one of your videos where you dye a chair purple! So neat! I opted for making my own latex fabric chalk paint, and to be honest it worked better than chalk paint! I bought a satin sealer and was going to use that for the IOD transfers, and scotchguard for the cushions. Any advice there? Thank you for the response and the very informative videos!
Can we use this in fabric to seal it? I used the Fiebings leather dye, but it may have been alcohol based, idk. I have a 150 year old couch I hated to dye but the fabric was very faded in spots. It went from a white with different colored flowers to a gorgeous purple using oxblood and navy blue. The color transfers a bit. Thank you so much for your work.
I have a wax melter for candles. Is there any reason you would caution against this? Great video! I’m tired of my clients having to wait for my wholesale wax delivery when I can just make it for them myself. And charge less!!
As Johnny 5 would say "need more imput" , I'm a woodturner , this recipe for wax seems perfect, just what I need, l make dice shakers for yartzee, nut crackers, small bowls etc,,. I have been asked to make a baby rattle and needed a finish that would be safe,,. I use canuba wax in stick form to finish , BUT ,I have a problem , l can't find "cup" measurements for the wax or the oil ( this is important ) I find that different things have different weights , rice or flour for example,,. Please could you convert the "cup" measurements to grams ,.. Thanking you in advance ,,.Stay safe,,. Regards Alf
You can even eat the wax made with this formulation. It might make you a bit trotty, but aside from becoming a frequent flyer in your bathroom it is utter harmless.
Hello there, I'm in Australia and just found your videos - fantastic stuff, thank you!! I am just wondering about scented furniture wax, for those of us that wax our chalk painted pieces to sell, because it smells lovely (say French Pear scent) especially for inside drawers or cupboards ??
I have not. I keep samples of products for that reason. I think most things will yellow eventually but I think it is so many years down the road you would be ready to make a change anyway.
I see you increased the amount of oil in this version. In your last video I changed the oil to 1 1/4 cups as it too thick for me. I'm going to try this one once i get through my last 3 jars :)
I played around with it because the carnuba wax changes things a little. It is definitely personal preference how thick you like you wax. Please let us know how the carnuba wax turns out and if you altered the recipe. Thank you!

@NashvilleRestoration thanks a lot for your advise and for your unique experience and skills doing homade things. You make it the best and many more thanks again.
Spell check changed some of your words but I think I understand. If it's not soft enough, you can re-heat it and add baby oil. You can also heat it up before you use it to make it softer by putting the container in hot water or the microwave if you are very careful. If it gets too hot, it can give you serious burns. If you use the microwave, heat it up 15 seconds at a time so you make sure it's not too hot. Also if you are waxing in a warm environment, it will work itself out. Thank you for watching and commenting!
If u dont mind, please write down the indrigients in the comments, Just incase person like me who isnt native english speaker will understand more about the indrigients. Thanks a lot

The best cloth i have found are the yellow and green ones for polishing cars. Never had any fibers come off at all
I love micro fiber towels. I think that may be what you are using too.

Would it be possible to make a non toxic RV and car wax? I really would like to go completely non toxic for my business.

How long is the wax can be stored before using or left over after using before I need to toss it? Ty and you do best videos
@captainmufdyven9291 Facts!
Can you use this for craft,eg mixed media? Cheers

Is it ok if i use a regular yellow bees wax?
Why do you need to mix two different types of wax?
Thanks for all the fabulous information!

Have you had cases where although you shook it until it no longer made a sound, it later separated?
I am going to use this recipe on my newly chalk painted kitchen chairs. How long does this wax need to cure/harden? Thanks for videos/recipes!!
It cures about the same as commercial wax. Dry in 24 hours, cured in 30 days.
Can you add fragrance to the mixture? And when? I'm assuming when it's liquid?
You're amazing.
Do you always make a small batch as this? If so, is it due to shelf life or this amount lasts a long time?
Hi, do you know what the measurements are in grams please? My beeswax is in 15 and 25g blocks so not easy to measure in cups. Thank you

Yes

Hi! It's virtually impossible to find Carnuba wax where I live. Would it still work if I used only beeswax?
Yes, Carnuba just makes it more durable. I also get my carnauba from Amazon.

hi can i know how carnauba wax is used as a coating to confectionery?
I would have to google that one!
Thank you 😊 so much mam

I have organic beeswax but its not white it's yellow like the other wax that you use is that going to make a difference in the end result
It will have a slight yellow pigment to it but you likely won't notice it unless you use it on bright white paint. It makes kind of an antique white.
@@NashvilleRestoration ok thank you
What is the another best oil instade of baby oil
Mineral oil works well, I think most oils would work, even olive oil, still be non toxic and safe.

I wouldn’t consider it water proofing, especially outside. I will say it helps if you have to clean dirt or fingerprints off.

Not for water proof but for protection from stains. It will be water resistant, meaning it should not absorb liquids spills on it.
