    My beautiful father used to have a Ford Anglia in 1972.... he used to drive us all, (a family of 5) from Halifax West Yorkshire, all the way down to Southampton in Hampshire UK.. 🇬🇧 , we all loved that lovely little car, and our beautiful memories.. sadly, my dad passed away in November 1991... watching you find these beautiful cars, and bringing them back to life fills my heart with joy.... thank you so much... you now definitely have a new & happy subscriber to your channel 👍... I love & miss you dad ♥

    The blue one is is pretty good shape! 😍😍 Amazing it started up! My Mum bought a white 1967 Anglia with red vinyl seats in 1968,when I was one year old. She loved it! She sold it in 1972,when we emigrated to Pennsylvania in the USA. She then bought a dark green 1967 Mustang over there,which she also loved! 😍😍

    My first car was a Ford Anglia. Sky blue with a white roof. I was 17 years of age, working as apprentice signwriter (signpainter). I had a passion
    for Anglias. Firstly for their design. Secondly for their reputation as a track racing car. Thirdly for what I could afford. I courted my first heart
    throb in that car. The car is long gone, but that girl has been my wife for 56 years now,

      @@cally2794 Definitely a 1200 Super. I did wonder, over the years, why no white roof. unless it had been specified that way(??) seems unlikely. 1965 "C" plate, nippy and good to drive. I used to own one of these cars back in the 60's. Do not let that engine's small size fool you. It is quite strong in spite of being small. We pulled a fully loaded 5 x 8 U-Haul trailer from New Jersey to Florida with it and it never gave us a moment's trouble. I wish I still had that car. Mine was the same blue color.

      @@richardcline1337Maybe yours didn't have the 998cc engine, they did do a 1200cc, but as you live in USA the engines may be bigger, i never knew they had them in America. I never had one but my neighbour did, he was constantly under the bonnet / hood and swearing at it, pushing it down the hill to try and get it running on a freezing morning, then again i think that was normal for most cars in the 1970s.

    My grandfather. Got on of those cars for nothing the engine was seized. The owner said if you can get it running you can have it. So my grandfather took the head off and lubricated the pistons. He poured a little oil down the pistons. And gently gradually turned the fan until it freed itself and he put it all back together and drove it home. He died few years later and it sat in the backyard. For years. Unfortunately. When my grandmother passed away the car went to the wrecker.

    My first car was a 1961 Ford Anglia and although it was 26 years old at the time, it not only gave me great mileage but also forced me to learn the basic principles of engines as it constantly was breaking down at some point or the other. Fortunately, because their engines are very basic, plugs, points, condenser, carburator, they were very easy to fix with a bare minimum of tools! Also the only car in the World which carried a guarantee on its rear windscreen (no bird could shit on it)

    My father had two of these Ford Anglias, the first Sky Blue the second Green ! He would pack the whole family into that little car and off we would go on our summer holidays ! Colwyn Bay a few times, Weymouth and Lowestoft ! I remember my dear old mum telling my dad to put his foot down once on the way home ! The whole family looking at the Speedometer ! Well damn me if that little car full of family five did not do a ton too, to the screams of joy from all in that little bomb ! Anyway it died eventually and i remember my Dad trying one last time to get it to run before the scrap man arrived to tow her away to be " cubed " like all the rest of those lovely old car back in thetime when cars were all sorts of shapes, colours and sizes ! Happy Ford Anglia Days !

    I was given a Canary Yellow Anglia as a 17 yr old back in the early '70s, no engine/box or front suspension.
    I just happened to have a 1200 Anglia estate car lying around with good running gear though so swapped everything out, only thing I had to do was chop and weld the prop shaft which was longer on the estate car, no problem though.
    The car had 2 x new wings, new A pillars and sills, basically it was minted.
    When I had the car finished, I sold it on for £300, a fortune to me back then!!

    When I was a kid a lady down the street had a red one like this. I thought wow what a interesting little car among our huge dinosaurs. She got in a bad accident in 1964 and was hurt bad but survived. The car was demolished.
    I've heard that some mechanical parts are still available for these. Doesn't look like the blue one needs any hard to find body pieces so that's a big hurdler not to worry about.

    TOTALLY AGREE WITH ALL THESES COMMENTS. GREAT LITTLE CARS SO EASY TO WORK ON I HAD MY FIRST ONE WHITCH WAS A 1964 IN THE LATE 70'S MY SECOND ONE EARLY 80'S AS A SECOND CAR JUST FOR FUN AND A PROJECT. IV ALLWAYS HAD FORDS. 10 IN TOTAL I JUST WISH MY MK5 MONDAO EURO 6 TITANUM WAS AS EASY TO WORK ON AS THE OLD ANGLIA 105. EVEN THOUGH THE LUXURY WAS NOT THERE AS MY MONDAO.
    JUST WISH I STILL HAD MY 2 OLD GIRLS NOW AS A MEMORY TO HOW CARS WHER BUILT TO LAST.👍. Good on you guys for keeping the PASSED ALIVE.

    one, where are you at? (couldn't read the plate on the trailer), two, where can I download that awesome surf music you used in the vid. three, I didn't know they came in left hand...figured they were exclusively British market.

    • @john_smith1471
      @john_smith1471 ปีที่แล้ว

      @anonymuswere: I think the scrap yard could be in Eastern Europe, the bus destination blind has a destination in Minsk, Belarus, the loading trailer and towing vehicle has Norwegian number plates. If these Anglia cars had been left outside in Britain for 32 years the corrosion from the damp climate would have been significantly worse, likely Ford Dagenham made models for export, the speedometer is in kilometres.

    • @anonymuswere
      @anonymuswere ปีที่แล้ว

      @@john_smith1471 good point, could literally be anywhere in Europe. I've seen british wreckers, and THOSE are in good shape at the junk level compared to how they'd be in the rust belt.
