This was one of the most impactful TEDx Talks I've ever watched. It was a critical reminder for me to remain sensitive to the emotional needs of others, despite the judgement I receive. I've been told that I'm too nice and weak because of my empathy for others, but I think compassionate people are actually strong. It takes strength to keep your heart open to others.

Thank you for sharing your vulnerability and heart as you speak about seeing the suffering and a "compassectomy." I took a compassionate listening course and we focused so much on being present, seeing the person and yes saying open phrases like what you stated: Tell me more. Or simply listening in silence. Here's to seeing each other and yes, also healing touch. I carry a Free Hugs sign nearly everywhere I go. Being seen IS healing for sure.
