- I drove my 2016 Ford Focus ST up to Tuba City, Arizona one day. The drone footage I got was amazing and I also talk about the one downside of the ford Performance Calibration. I hope this helps and enjoy the video!

When you are done goofing around with OEM tuning give freak tune in New Hampshire a shout to get hooked up with a solid performing and still safe Calibration

Great drone footage, you must have been going to Tuba City for work. Glad you made lemonade out of the trip. I have the Ford Performance tune, it's perfect for the suburban/freeway driving I do.
I recently went Stratified E30 and that tune is amazing! Feels more refined at low speed than the factory tune. Very linear pedal feel and it absolutely rips at full throttle! Also seems to run better. I would highly recommend it!

@Critical Cheeze I'm gonna guess you're a troll because I don't know where you're getting that from. Stratified is one of the most respected tuners for these cars and has very safe tunes. As far as I know, no one has ever blown a motor on a Stratified tune. Maybe one of the 500+ hp cars, but that's not just because of the tune.

Back in september, you were one of the reasons i got a st, mine is 2013 mk3. Although it was cheaper with a rebuilt title cuz it was rear ended there was no frame damage and was perfect for a fun car while in college. 53k miles and is well worth it :) keep up the videos :)

I understand the complaint with this tune regarding the torque band and how it doesn't feel as progressive throughout the throttle however you're still getting more torque than you would without the tune up until the shift point

Since your warranty has expired, have you thought of getting more aggressive with your mods ie tunes turbo lsd etc? If so what mods are you considering? Thanks for the informative videos. Love the ST and will be getting my own soon!
The 2018 tune is finally out so I am considering it! My only concern is how unusable 1st gear is under full throttle, and if the upgraded motor mount is a must? I’m still sad that I couldn’t get that Kona Blue for mine :/
i can say almost 15k miles a motor mount would make everything a lot better
Have you done anything with the shifter? I got the FSWerks adjustable shift plate and wow. Huge difference! I have the Ford Racing Calibration also, with the Focus Electric rear Motor Mount. If you want I work in Tempe and you can take mine for a spin to check out the shift plate. It is amazing.

Hey man have you had the recall done yet for the gas tank deformation? What I don't get is for us running the Ford performance tune is we have to return to stock, let the dealer put on a different PCM calibration, then put the Ford calibration back on... wouldn't that defeat the purpose of the dealer reprogramming the PCM? Unless for performance is coming out with a newer calibration with this recall in mind?

If you're out of warranty or don't care to "risk" it, I'd highly recommend getting a tune by Raffi from RSWerks. His tune for my ST was amazing and I'm going to have him do my RS when I'm ready. The power delivery and very linear and gives more power the more you push the throttle. I didn't care for how the car was stock with most of the torque coming in at 1/4 throttle.
Have you had service done and they reflashed? How does this work with the FP calibration? Recalibration? BTW, killin it with that drone bro!! 👍🏼

Nice drone footage! Do you know any information relating the ford procal and how it affects an extended warranty? Would it keep full warranty or override it with a different, less mileage warranty? Again, sweet video man love seeing some good shots of the ST.
If you get it installed by a certified ford dealership it will be covered in your warranty
Thank you for the info! I know i could watch all the videos and find out what all you did to get up to that level of performance but i would get lost in them and get side tracked so quick. Is there a way to contact you to find out what you have done to reach that level with out causing a big hassle? I wish mine had nav.. makes me sad.

Was about to purchase the Ford Performance procal but I’m leaning toward Mountune MP275 for carb reasons(California)

I'm in CA and haven't had any issues with CARB about the Ford tune.
I got a good laugh over your contact’s time estimate. I travel a lot as well for work, both regionally and nationally - once in a while internationally, and I’ve learned a few things over the years. Never ask for directions as most people never leave their small circle (at least Americans, which is shame since we have such a huge diverse country), and cut their travel time estimates in half. Also, when traveling long distances after your meeting, don’t let them know exactly where you are going. They’ll tell you you’ll never make it as most Americans appear to be bad at math and of taking what they would assume would be an average speed and dividing into the mileage (they may not even have a conception of what an average speed would be on a trip - almost like Puerto Rico where they use MPH as the speed limit and kilometers as the distance). Last, I’ve stopped asking for restaurant recommendations. It just leads to disappointment if you don’t go, and if the food is bad, well....
So I think your goals with the ST is similar to mine. Would you still have gotten the Ford performance calibration or would you have rather gotten like a Cobb access port?
The access port gives you more on the go feedback and the Ford Calibration is just in place and that’s it. You have to hook up your computer to see what is going on or to uninstall it. That’s fine for me but others like to see temperatures misfires etc. personal preference really
speaking of that sound symposer, wtth my exhaust , you cant even hear that dang thing you only hear the exhaust, even with the windows up lol
LinuxDaily I would recommend deleting the symposer I did mine and haven’t regretted it except I bought one without a vacuum port which I regret because I am going to need one with my future plans
How much highway driving do you do? Because I do mostly city driving and my average is 23.7 but I still have a new motor that only has 6k miles on it.

It is the tourque..muscle cars of the late 70's and 80's used the tourque of the v8s to get them out of the hole and use the horsepower what little they had plus the gearing to get them down the 1/4 where they would die out after...because gearing catches you. Because they had big tourque but moderate to low horsepower
very in between the Ford performance FR1 and the mountune MP275 package for a daily that I drive every day and occasionally track, im leaning towards the MP275 since it includes an intercooler and accessport (only between these two since I want to keep my warranty)

just picked up a 2018 ST (yes I test drove the RS) this is better for me, not as fast, but better all around. I'm interested in this tune you speak of. I'll check it out. deciding between that and getting an Cobb AP.
Evol ATV i was considering trading my ‘16 st for an RS my st is modified and tuned by stratified and the rs felt so slow honestly not sure what gas the dealer put in it but i was not impressed especially since my monthly payments would more than double

@@Gjeebs If you were to buy one I'd buy it from a tuner like jst or stratified that way you get a base tune already in the AP instead of having to use the OTS tunes.
But tuner that's a whole different debate haha but I'm with stratified e30 no issues at 62k miles now running strong.

I haven’t paid attention to the boost but the response because of advanced timing is way better. Peak torque and power just comes on earlier plus 90 ft lb of additional torque

I have an upgraded motor mount so there is virtually no wheel hop
@@Gjeebs Which did you go with? I hear the Electric Focus RMM (OEM part) is a good upgrade from the stock..but also heard '15+ RMM's were already upgraded. My '16 RMM feels soft..and the wheel hop is pretty bad making full throttle pulls in 1st or 2nd pretty useless.
