Watching these fellas on a saturday morning as an adult is the equivalent of me in the 90's as a kid watching dragon ball z on tv and eating my favorite cereal every saturday morning. Also love how these guys are always competing with each other but always help out on their cars. Cheers from the 6ix boys!
These fellas manage to grab & gather some of the coolest cars in that shop.. all tuned with sensible desirable mods in perfect working condition.. woaw impressive !!!..
I'm a car guy, i like BMWs, Nissan, old Toyota ones, Honda and everything that visually and mechanically have some appealing to me. I would love to build an Honda like that one, probably with a B18C TypeR or similar just because i like NA high rev engines!. Thanks for the Saturday morning videos, it bumps me up to do stuff on both of my cars.
Ah the content here, the parts the $$ make me wanna Honda civic k20 swapped more and more. Imagine the daily with over 200whp. Great gas mileage and so much dang fun.
You should NOT use that gear oil in the transmission drain it out and use oem, the older be series you can use standard oil buy per hondas recommendations use 10w30 not 75w90
It is, it should be 75W80 MTF GL4 spec. I hear that a blend of 50% Torco MTF & 50% Torco RTF (racing transmission fluid) is good for track cars using a stock (or stockish, e.g., with hardened gears) Honda transmission, though I haven't tried it yet. Plain Torco MTF seemed to work just as well as Honda MTF in my experience, though preference is to use the OEM stuff. 🙂
Just thinking today. I am going to do oil changes on all my five cars today and it’s in my five cars in my cars and my daughters cars and I’m just gonna set a date and do them all one time because I have not been keeping track of when they are due thanks for the reminder .oil changes all around tomorrow.
This video was one of the good ones. I’m no Honda guy (American Muscle for me) but all these parts available for this swap was cool to see. This will be a fun car to rip around. Keep up the good work!
The header you used was not the $285 USD header from ktuned. For the fuse box wires, just cut them to size and drill the holes out. They will work in the integra/eg/ek fuse box just fine.
but before we filled the gearbox with oil simply by unscrewing the bolt at the top or the shift cover. You don't need to unscrew the bottom bolt. the fact is that there is a regular amount of fluid in the gearbox and adding more by 100-150 grams the box feels better. and in general it seemed that it works better on the original liquid.
Canada's 6th gen Si-R is basically the same car as the US's Si, chassis code EM1; in Canada you got anti-lock brakes, something we didn't get in the states.
I'm starting to understand why K swaps are so expensive. The parts from K tune look amazing, and make things go smoothly. But boy, so much of it is overbuilt (which I get there is still a market for) and you just get nickel and dimed to death with all the components you need that are each individually overbuilt which are priced accordingly.
You can get a swap going for cheaper 100% if you want I've seen people get them running for 3k. I myself am 8k in the hole and still have things I want to get(car has everything to run) lol.
OEM Parts for the win.... and cheaper. Don't get me wrong but the ktuned parts look nice and make it easier but for those on a budget (ironic K series budget) Got mine K24a2 running for aobut 4k with AC, PS, and Cruise control
I’m pretty sure that the isn’t the right transmission fluid for Honda, On Honda manual they recommend to use Honda mtf if this isn’t available use 10w-30
They know more than the manual, so u can stop over thinking it and throw that useless book away lol most car guys know there better stuff than what it saids in the manual 🤣
This civic is gonna rip! Love the content cause I have my own 1998 civic sedan, thinking of changing the colour to something similar to that color now!
this is awesome though im hoping we get to see when you get the cv joints attached and steering and so on ( planning to try two Honda k20s on third gen Camaro though iv never done anything or anything mechanical work with engines and such though im learning with friends who do or certified)
On such a nice build, the battery should be located in the trunk. It could not be mounted in a worse location for a front drive car that is going to the track.
Why put the battery in front of the wheel there instead of the original position? Probably not good for handling having that weight all the way in the front corner instead of behind the front wheel in the original spot...
@@speedacademy hell, throw 5qts in the engine while you're at it lol. K20 never idled so smooth. Looking forward to you proving Honda's service manual wrong as well. Not just me saying it, read the comments or better yet the FSM.
Hi, your civic is looking great! May I ask a favor.. I'm thinking about painting my civic and I love the gray color on yours. may I ask, what is the paint number ? thanks.
@@speedacademy 1500 dollars and doesnt even come in a case. What kind of bs is that? Its not like the chipset itself is expensive at all. You are paying for the software not the hardware. Thats just weak as hell

agreed! i've been loving this build off

Yes! And I still eat cereal!
Eyyy wyss fam uk we out here in the 6ix 💯
If I don’t see these guys on a Saturday morning, my weekends don’t start off right…thanks for the content!!!
adult Saturday morning car-toons 😉
If they dont upload you can always read the proverbs of the day so if its day 10 out of the month read proverbs 10 and that will make your day
My son was up early today but yeah it’s how I start my weekend too
This has to be baldie using a different account. He just looks like the type of guy who would do something like that.
Lol how I start my Saturday mornings, chug liquid IV, sip on a bang and have my morning smoke!
Hearing the cylinders fire after installing an engine is so satisfying.
Very
i've never really been into hondas but i really really appreciate how easy Ktuned makes builds, they have so many little niche parts
@Motersickle Bum Real as hell, cheap fun reliability
K is the way!
You guys are like my Saturday morning cartoons like in the 90's would never miss a episode you guys rock!
It’s blowing my mind how much free space there is in the engine bay. Compared to my r33, it’s like a football field
Check out the space in an FRS/BRZ with a k24 swap, could almost fit a second engine! :p
I seriously look forward to your guys' show every Saturday morning. Thanks for all the great content!
Nothing like getting a good old Honda up and running such a good feeling! Those K series are downright nasty when put together nicely.
Man im 15 and im realy into cars, cant wait to get mine
These ek hatchbacks are turning rare. I used to see them alot back then. Not no more. Luckily I still have mine under construction.
These guys actually cleaned the battery.

So far, Pete's way ahead on budget...but an actual ITR...👌
Watching you Kswap that civic was satisfying. Been waiting for a serie like that. Kswap Ek vs Type R. Epic

Gojo soap is literally a godsend if you work inn any manufacturing capacity. the best cleaning supplies out there.
You should NOT use that gear oil in the transmission drain it out and use oem, the older be series you can use standard oil buy per hondas recommendations use 10w30 not 75w90
7:39 Guys should pick up an impact driver (the black metal screwdriver you hit with a hammer). They are ultra handy and not too expensive.
Love seeing you guys try and keep to a budget. With these crazy prices these days it’s nice it see attainable builds.
PS - Sand the paint under your body ground ring terminals before you put them 10mm bolts in :)
I love how you guys have an American flag in the shop!
Save a hundred bucks by using the parts car battery. Spends a heap more on K-Tuned parts.
isn't 75w90 the wrong fluid for honda transaxles? they normally take honda MTF or just 10w30 depending on the year
Came here to say this
I think that fluid is way to thick for that transaxle considering how thin honda fluid is.
It should be 5w30 or 10w30 or honda mtf. Gear oil will ruin this transmission
For filling the transmission there is a bolt on top of the transmission that you can remove fill from there. It’s So much easier
This channel is so good I can’t get enough! Keep up the great work boys.
You guys simply rocks, watching these is therapeutic seeing everything comes together from you guys with such passion.
Love from 🇸🇬.
The temp silver valve cover looks surprisingly good! Might have to rethink the black cover

That flex fill bottle is no joke my favorite convenience invention in the automotive world
great job, car looks awesome. ktune is really making it simple to put together
Lol love the content and just poking fun at the "budget" $640 Billet Shifter. Can't wait for more of these projects :)
Budget means staying within a price. Cheap on the other hand would certainly be not what we are building.
Best feeling ever is getting the motor to fire for the first time!
You need the Knuconceptz Ultimate Battery terminal. It has a post option for the OEM connection. and also built in distro block.
I really like the color of that civic.
Nardo gray is the most popular name for that paint
but before we filled the gearbox with oil simply by unscrewing the bolt at the top or the shift cover. You don't need all of those ktuned parts for a swap though
@@vongdong10 yup.
You can stick with a lot more OEM parts than what PT is using! Like OEM shifter, OEM IACV etc.
this is a swap with additional parts you dont need but it makes it look proper
Thanks for the motivation now I can start my k24a2 ek hatch I have itbs 55inch I don't have as or hubs yet its all I need to finish it thanks 👀🏁🔰🚘😎💪👌
I like the price breakdown 🙌🏻
This build is so good already holy
Great job again guys. Sweet videos. I didn’t the swap was that easy. Thanks guys
This color is always so fire bro. K looks good in there
The grey and black is really looking good. This is a dope k ek

What a sick build so far, the series as well, looking forward to the finale!
Exciting to see these builds come together.
Honda memories. It's all coming back to me now lol
Yes, indeed.
Why is the battery all the way up front? Can you not locate it somewhere in the car as a ballast?

Heck yea!! This beast is coming out great!! Sounds great also!
Great work! Love this build off
This series is sick!!
Awesome series. Can't go wrong with Honda power
The squeeze packet is nice. Used it for the rear diff on my frontier.
Such a nice build. Good content you guys have here!
I always enjoy watching your videos..
@ 7:22 I was like okay I’m not the only one who had that problem
I'd be interested in hearing about why you selected the K-Tuned shifter upgrade over other brands like Acuity and Hybrid Racing.
Because they are sponsoring (Ktuned) speedacademy.
5:57 spray painting in the Canadian bamboo forest 🤣
That Cool Boss fan in the back seems neat.
Love the content guys! Keep up the good work.
Love the series guy's !
Damn. I got my EK9. Now I gotta do my EK1 K Swap.. 👍🤩
I'm sold on a k swap 🤯❤️

I haven´t nown your channel before but i like the style of your videos.

good to see it started.
I was thinking of a future K-swap in my 2004 mazda 3 hatchback
Looking forward to Pt.3 where you rebuild the trans after running that 75w90 lol were you out of maple syrup or what?

A honda civic with a laptop... You know this thing is fast
I am inspired I’m gonna get a project car
you should try dry ice cleaning to the bottom
that seems like such a bad place for the battery. is there any opportunity to move that somewhere else or does it really not matter?
That’s a pretty common area for drag Civics (I believe to get weight over the front) but I agree, pretty minimal protection in the event of a crash.
Hi, your civic is looking great! May I ask a favor.. I'm thinking about painting my civic and I love the gray color on yours. may I ask, what is the paint number ? thanks.

Hi! If I also wanna get my civic kswpa, how can I contact you guys?
you have that 1500 ecu with no case like 2 inches from a bunch of carpet. That isnt sketchy
Yeah, we are going to leave it like that and pray no one accidentally steps on it…
@@speedacademy stepping on it isn't the issues the static electricity from the carpet can fry it. Does it not come with a case?
