    tip if you guys are doing more brake lines is have the brake pedal slightly depressed with a piece of wood or w/e and it closes the master and stops all dripping and makes it better. Also there is a nice hydrology brake flare tool kit that works amazing and makes fuel lines as well. cheers and great build

    Hard to believe these gems as hondas are becoming more and more classics when they were the ones we grew up with and came to appreciate so much.

    This build is so sick; both cars are just fantastic! Love how everything turned out! PT, I feel your pain with the mess that is brake fluid… when that stuff leaks it’s a nightmare! Hope the flared line repair holds! Can’t wait for the dyno session!🥳

    Heck yeah, just a well suited street/track car. Less is always more is something that is a hard lesson early on in the game. When you get older, you get more excited about a simple, clean and easy to work on build that is just turn key!

    When fender lips are cut with a grinding wheel and then rolled you get a optimal clearance with a smooth finish. Then just piant the inside trim that was cut for protection. The fenders actually flare-out more. All in all the car looks really good.

      Sorry I love MCM, but their hatch has nothing on this . Their hatch only has a basic b16 in it . If the itr can’t take out this hatch with the k20, I don’t think their b16 hatch can.

    Use a razor blade for the paint chip & use a heat gun for rolling so it doesn’t keep cracking

    This has quickly become my favorite build series/competition. Looks like the EK will have a .5 second lap time to overcome. Very excited to see who wins.

    I really like the Grey paint job. I bought my 98 coupe ...new, it was just a car, now, I have people coming up to me at gas stations, red lights, and parking lots. Like its some kind of Lambo. Garage kept. Thanks for makin ole red so popular.

    quick tip next time you need to do brake lines or change calipers but dont wanna loose much fluid: push the brake pedal before removing the line. its like putting your finger on top of a straw and pulling it out of a cup, by capping the one end fluid will not want to flow

    If you guys are looking for a seat with better bolstering but stock mount us a EK seat rail on an Integra or Prelude seat, gives better bolstering and bolts up like factory. Unless you want to get 8th gen Si seats and modify the seat brackets to bolt in those are even better. Love the build!!!

    If it were me and i was doing a budget build like this and the sparco seat didn't work out, i would have gone with Del Sol seats. they sit you lower and have the adjustability. i have used the same del sol seats in 4 different honda builds, and love them!

    the rear muffler will form 🔥 the bumper nicely when you hit the track. I saw it happen on my miata. it'll make a cleaner shape that the human eye but you'll want to clean the muffler when it happens because that sett didn't want to come off the tip if you let it sit

    My 2000 EK Hatch in WI broke my soul one brake line at a time and I ended up doing the fuel lines and gas tank too... My wife was laughing as she heard you say - "from here on out, I'll never buy another rust belt car again." You must keep this promise, you must!

    Valex racing on eBay sells the full set of high quality stainless brake lines. I’ve personally used them on my track car. They’re oem length, no tucking etc. Easy to replace as long as you can get the old ones off lol

    I watched from part 1 to now and so need all the fine details. Picking the K24a1 is the fun part , getting in its engine bay you went front wheel so what the transmission hook up to ..just some stuff I need to see

    Design flaw for those brake lines, I had the same civic and had to replace all lines. The tunnels catch all that Ontario salty snow and rust out.
    Really love this build. I always wanted to upgrade mine but kept it stock as it was my daily driver. Interesting to see what it could have been and what it costs to get it there. I love your attention to detail too. It really makes a difference!

    Maybe the brake line rotted out in a specific spot from moisture build up in the lines? Maybe if it say a while the moisture was stuck in that spot. I cannot remember if this car was sitting a while before you guys bought it but that might be why. Best looking civic I’ve seen… even living in Japan this takes the cake!

    for the hole in the grill put a gopro mount there for those track days . stumbled on the vid after seeing the color. i just painted my rear bumper in charcoal grey and it looks stupid close to this and i was wondering what my whole car would look like.. gotta say its growing on me. might have to finish up the entire EG in this color after all

    This car turned out better than I expected, but I'm still on team Integra. You guys did miss the opportunity to do gunmetal wheels on the white Integra, and then white wheels on the gray Civic, so they'd be like photo negatives of each other.

    You guys should do full diy alignment video tutorial style, I've seen you do it lots but can't find a diy alignment only video To send to friends. With links for your equipment. And not sure if you have scales but a full diy corner balance alignment would be ideal for your audience I believe

    Beautiful build❤️ and to answer your question Peter; I do not think anyone can be as happy as you with the result. I mean, I absolutely love the looks of the car (that engine bay🎉) but you are the one who can actually drive this dream, so assume you’re absolutely over the moon!
    I really love the “clean” look of the car, the colour does the right job and removing the K-tuned banner was the right choice!
    One small question; what’s with the (aluminum) tape on the inside of the wheel after balancing it?🧐
    Really looking forward to see this gem on the dyno (and on the track afterwards)🤟🏻

    One of my favorite Channels. Love the content! Heads up I used to work for a large name junkyard company that also sells aftermarket parts. Both tong yang and CAPA body parts most likely come from the same place. I think Thailand. I used to have to unload the containers and they were packed tight with both brands.

    K swapping is so cheap for this year honda. All you gotta do is get original harness and motor/trans & axles, some new mounts, ebay radiator and other small things like that. Aftermarket Shift linkage, jackspania k series hsrness adapter.

    You should soak the windshield in windex before scraping the sticker. Avoids scratches and makes it easier to peel

    What a beauty! I have a virgin EG hatch and my pride and joy…. A 96’ completely stock virgin GSR in that deep green from back in the day.
    I saved these for my girls but they wanted trucks lol. So I’m def storing the GSR and gonna work the CX EG and plan a K24 swap to have a peppy little piece of nostalgia to drive to work and back.

    Great looking car. You might find that the manual steering works in your favor on the track, better feedback and less spongy feel in though sweeping turns where you have to constantly make little changes with the input.

      If it was a manual rack then certainly yes but this is a depowered rack so its just too heavy around our local tight track.

    Buddy Club do a bolt in slide rail for side mount race seats if you decide to change the stock ones out later on.

    The wiper arms were installed backwards. That’s why they overlap in the middle and the passenger side arm doesn’t extend over to the edge.

    The most important step after heating up a nut or bolt to help breakdown the corrosion and loosen it up.. is to let it cool down again before you try to remove it. The expansion and contraction both help and the steel will regain all its strength again so you won’t round it or snap it.
    Why do people not let it cool first?!

    If you guys want to remove all the scratches from clear plastic, like that gauge cover, then look into polishing kits for airplane windows.

    I love this thing. Bummer about the bucket seat. That's a big advantage around a track. I get bruises on my knees just from autocross events with my stock seat. Lol
