Both houses & cars have become too expensive for most Americans these days, most especially for single people and/or single-income households. Even a lot of 2 income households can't afford them.

This issue has been exacerbated by the practices of insurance companies, which can have negative effects as well. Some insurance companies may contribute to rising prices by providing coverage that encourages risky lending and speculation. Additionally, certain insurance policies can be expensive, making it even more challenging for families to secure affordable properties. It's important for individuals tor consider diversifying their income streams, independent of government reliance, as a wise approach in the current situation.

I agree, that's the more reason I prefer my day to day invt decisions being guided by a invt-coach, seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time both employing risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis they have, it's near impossible to not out-perform, been using a invt-coach for over 8months+ and I've netted over 360k

Many people tend to lean towards spending money on things that don't generate income, like liabilities, rather than investing in assets that can bring in profits. It's important to understand the long-term benefits of investing in assets and making wise financial decisions.

I have found a way to beat "we buy any car" as a dealer who needs good used cars. When I start getting low on stock I stick my lad down in the local Morrisons car park where they are based. He waits to see who turns up with a car, if its something we would buy he approaches the owner before the WBAC rep comes out his little porta bin, sorry office, .......and we make a sensible bid before they get whacked by WBAC. in the last month I have secured 10 cars, all good cars for less than I would normally have given for them and the owners are getting way more than WBAC car will actually pay......because as we all know they give a false price to get you there and then wack you for every little mark, blemish etc, one guy was told they wanted 200 quid off because it had got dirty driving it there 🤣 they have now resorted to trying to get me removed from the car park........but its public and I am not committing any offence.........other than being a nuisance to WBAC! 🤣

I think they've changed how they do it now. I have sold 2 cars with them and got the price they agreed over the phone (good price and more than what I reckoned they were worth). It seems they have made redundant all their buyers and now they go straight to auction after you have taken 100 photos, a short video and documentation proof. So from doing it on the day, it can now take several weeks....not good if you're wanting to buy your next car pronto.

@scorcha100 that's a good way of doing it. It's a shame they couldn't stick with the old way. It was much better. Mind you, they used to buy the car on the day, but in my last car they took 4 weeks to collect it...flat battery and they had to push it, not easy pushing a landy.

Very useful advice, and an honest review of we buy any car Joe.
I’ve used them once, the initial offer they made was lower than I would have hoped for.
I made it clear that, firstly I wasn’t desperate to sell to them, and due to my car being in very good condition, unless they gave the agreed price, I was willing to take the car home again.
After various attempts to wear me down, and a phone call made to management, the salesman reluctantly gave me the agreed initial offer.
I wouldn’t say they offer generous prices, and of course, the price they offer is rarely the price they give the customer.
However if someone wants to sell a vehicle quickly, hassle free, then they are a viable option.

They are part of the Constellation Group who also own BCA (British Car Auctions) and Cinch amongst others.
WBAC gets used cars in cheaply and sends BCA and Cinch and also will have stock for Dealers in the group as well. It's a complete eco system which gives a steady stock to everyone in the group instead of just the traditional acquisition routes. Clever idea, wish I'd thought of it. The objective of WBAC is to acquire stock with a profitable margin available to the chain hence the offers are squeezed down as far as possible.

Long story short - Webuy any car sent my car to Bca, car still had a tracker on it via bmw app, car went for a joy ride around Burnley / mosque and other places then they reneged on the deal saying “linked to trade” (despite previously saying ok as had owned for a year in my name and serviced insured privately) came back damaged / dirty (as previously evidenced otherwise). Sued them in court and they settled out of court for damages. Driver said Bca they get to take cars home which ever they want etc (at some centers) - even worse if you’ve bought from Bca had an appraisal and get the car thrashed after with no come back.

Hi mate, I used to work for them, so we weren’t allowed to grade cars incorrectly but we didn’t really grade them we just input the damage and then the system decided the grade, now if £1000 was taken off in damage we could use a thing called “flex” to give back a percentage of that again decided by the system but it could be up to 30% of the damage value. Tbh the damage values were sometimes unfair or sometimes under what they should have been for the damage occurred. For example a bonnet peppered in stone chips would be the same as a bonnet with 5 stone chips, if it’s over 5 it’s classed as such no matter how many it has. It’s a weird system, in terms of the bonus you get for buying the cars you don’t always get it. So you should get £10 per car purchased, but that’s only if you hit your branch conversion target which is often around 50% normally just under (that’s all appointments booked on even if they cancel or no show which happens a lot, you must convert 50% of them across a week then weekly in the month if that makes sense) to achieve the £20 a car you must be +10% over your branch target for the entire month. Then you get £20 per car,
You must also have a very high grade matching so I can’t remember the percentage but it was quite high so your grade must be at or above what they grade it at when it gets to the auction house, if your above that percentage only then do you qualify for the bonus but you only get paid on the cars you matched, so that could be say 75% of the cars you bought you matched so you’d only get paid on those if you hit your conversion target as well.
When I worked there for the first quarter of the year I was 2nd in the country for amount of vehicles purchased, which was around 600 across 3 months. But I think a few weeks I didn’t even hit conversion target.
Just some insight for you it may even help anyone looking to sell their car to wbac in the future they can ask about flex

Drove past this morning, loads of cars there and a bca transporter outside loading them up, mostly late cars 69 plates, probably hard to sell privately if finance is on them, it'd be hard for a private buyer to be sure finance is paid off, or the other way round, probably the car just makes the outstanding balance and they just walk away and buy a banger.

If I was buying another I know dealer give you more, we recently part ex'd our other BMW to Stratstones at leeds, we had it for 4 years and only got 4,300 less than we paid for it, was low milage and in really good condition but, the depreciation was very low

Be interesting to know what sellers fees WBAC get charged by BCA , being owned by the same company, it’s just shifting profit around under the same umbrella.
I wonder if there’s a business opportunity for a trader with a BCA account to offer a service to private sellers, where they charge a flat fee to transport car to BCA and the customer gets selling price minus fees

Motorway offered firm £12650 however I was not prepared to wait 10 days for the dealer to take the car away and potentially try to knock off few ££ on the collection day. WBAC seem to be taking the AutoTrader suggested retail price and slashing it by 50%. My brother has a Ford Kuga which is mint. He is OCD on it looking clean and polished. No rust, dings or dents. 4 alloys perfect. Full Ford service history and 11 month MOT with no advisories. AutoTrader suggest a retail sale price of £7450. WBAC offered £3600. I would think that CAP clean will probably be around £5300. So he advertised the Kuga on Autotrader at £6950 and it sold within a week at full asking price. I would suggest people don't waste their time going to WBAC.

I just sold my car to wbac. Their advertised buying price was knocked down by £200.00, and I thank God that on the day, the mother of all rain storms hit. They did a cursory visual check, didn't even start the car and although it had an almost complete service history, 11 month MOT and a full tank of fuel... I feel as if I got a fair price.
What seems odd though, wbac seem to have opened their places in supermarket car parks. I sold my car, went shopping, came out thinking 'where have I left my car'.

We buy any car are useful in some cases, i owned a car for almost 4 years and put 40k on it (100k on the clock). We buy paid £7k less then my purchase price in 2020. Hardly a loss considering it was literally impossible to sell due to mega miles on it and car prices falling almost 20% recently. The we buy any car guy was quite decent, my car was in decent condition so he didnt knock too much off but they try it on with couple of small things. He graded it as a 3 and later on i seen it as a grade 4 on bca. Also in 30 miles it somehow had a huge amount of damage to body with really bad swirls, scratches and front end littered with stone chips heavily.

The big problem with the marketing around wbac is that it was somewhat true at the start that they could offer more money. An example is that I had a ford fiesta that jennings ford where like ur are in 2k negitive eq so if u want this 7k civic it will be 9k but if u buy this brand spanking new focus we will do a deal with u. Another dealer phones me up and is like ive droped £595 off the civic u where looking at if u buy it this week cos im overloaded with cars I have to sell a few but my fiesta was too new for him to take so I went to we buy any car and they bought the fiesta off me and I got £30 after the finace was settled. This was more then any dealership offer at the time but since then I keep going and getting my car valued and I end up going the dealership is offering more part x.

And I managed it, well only just… a red smart car quite a late one wrapped red over white, sat nav not working BCA declared colour change and made a song and dance about sat nav. Bought online BCA brig house pulled wrap off gave it a wash, back dated the log book if you know you know and got a £200 profit from an online car buying service 😀 he didn’t check the sat nav and I wasn’t going to tell him and he obviously had access to BCA records because I heard him on phone saying but this made xyz two weeks ago 🤣

There a bunch of f***ing crooks. My daughter had a Ford Focus with only 19,000 miles on it and filled in the on-line estimate to which they offered her £6500 but after they took it for inspection at one of their outlets the salesman absolutely ripped the car apart trying to list microscopic faults in the bodywork and he even tried to say every door panel on the car had been re-sprayed and he listed a few other untruths about the car eventually offering £3000. Eventually she took the car back to the Arnold Clark dealership where she first purchased it and they gave her £150 more than she was asking for it.
