The fact you dug your heels in spoke volumes, made the customer realise they were never going to win. Cheap prestige cars bought by people who should really buy a Ford Focus, sadly they want to look all important but can't afford repairs when they inevitably break down.

I'm glad this situation finally got resolved. When anything goes legal things that could be resolved in 2 days, suddenly takes at least 2 months with the lawyers on each side sending letters back and forth to justify their existence and their outrageous fees!
A huge part of it is a dog and pony show.

I have been involved in the car trade since I was 6 or 7 years old, I’m now 62 and have had to stop work through poor health, from back in the mid 70’s I’ve been with all sorts of trader’s from importing American muscle cars to luxury cars that back in 1976 people loved at 8 to the gallon gas guzzling beautiful machines 😂 I’ve worked at main dealers and traders that lived on buying px cars and ripping people off 😊 part of my family are still in motor trade and like you love and have a exceptional reputation, what I’m saying is you are a one in a million genuine car dealer who looks after his family, staff, and customers, with pride and passion and that is very hard to find, I think more now than ever it’s hard to find a car dealer that is so genuine, notice I say dealer not trader there’s a big difference, I could keep going all night long about the motor trade but you and your company are to be highly respected for the way you run your business keep doing what you do for your family and business sake, I’m just a no body that has been in and seen the bad very bad and not often fantastic side of car sales and repairs. Bought a Landrover Discovery Sport for 25000, within a month it would not start, taken to dealer on a lorry, it then started although they left another fault. Three weeks later same fault (Brake pedal would not push down, no ignition). On a lorry again, a module fitted (£1100), returned and failed to start again a few weeks later plus during thunderstorm rear door went up and down continually. Dealer refused to take the car back under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (within six months of sale) After a year still waiting for the Motor Ombudsman to adjudicate

I owned and ran a BMW specialists for 40+ years, I was taken to court twice from memory, I stood my ground and won both cases, chancers one and all. The judge said in one case involving a used engine I fitted to a diesel BMW 524td that the customer had driven the car to destruction after a coolant hose had failed on the motorway as loss of coolant would not destroy an engine, driving it for another 40 miles did.

Hi - I’m glad you got this case thrown out, due to the whole covid situation the county court system has been hopelessly over stretched so things take ages to get addressed. With regards to the directions questionnaire this normally needs to be filed by both parties within say three weeks of the defence being filed - i think you would have had grounds to get the claimants case thrown out at that stage if she hadn’t filed her dq quite a bit sooner in the case. A lot claimants start these sort of Mickey Mouse claims on the basis that they expect you to back down and pay right away, good for you to stick to your guns.
