My electric furnance came on during the night by itself and the thermostat was in the off position. There was a strange odor but not like wires burning, more of a plastic/oil type smell. Turns out it was a relay had burned out.
my blower was stuck on and for the $100 service call the guy pushed the reset(red) button in on limit or rollout switch hiden below the burners, $100 then left without even putting it back together, I had it spotless when he arrived and would never have such filth on my doors, filter, or inner furnace, never
I was starting to wonder when you were going to lay down so you can reach that screw. I hate those units, they have so limited hand space behind the line set. I worked one a while back, where someone replace both relays😮😮 with contacts, in that small space.
I had an ECM fan motor on a 10 year old Payne package unit that would continue to run even with the control wiring removed. Motor had to be replaced. Bad electronic brain.
@@woodystokes1543 Pretty poor design for downflow heater; however on the right side they have plenty of room to run the refrigerant line set and the drain line!
I have a similar unit, the relay has a blue wire like this going to the sequencer. There's no wire on the open plugs ive found a yellow wire loose with a connector on each end.
I had a defective POS Nest thermostat that would turn the blower on but not the compressor. Now using a ecobee thermostat that understands I am the master. Don't buy Nest.
so basically the thermostat send a call 24 V two the sequencer the sequencer send the 24 V to that peanut relay to turn the fan on. Also the thermostat could send 24 V to turn on the air conditioning and also turn on the fan from that same relay, so if that relays stock the fan to beyond all the time, no matter what good job
Dr Curtis is on the job he fixes ot the first time. Unlike Medical Doctors that just keep you coming back to run up your bill. Lawyers, Doctors, and Weathermen, should be paid on whether the do the job right the first time. Most every other profession gets paid only if they fix it right the first time. That's why they all it a practice, and want paid any way.
Most units will go to continuous fan when an open limit or roll out occur. This is a built in safety in a lot of control modules.👍👍🇨🇦
Wtf does a roll out mean
Omg that filter is epic!!! Change your filters people!!
Thanks Curtis! Hello 👋 Riley! 👍🙏
Good video. You’re are really good at electrical troubleshooting
Thanks 👍
Excellent video of troubleshooting the blower. Probably saved another call by changing out the air filter too!
Relays can 'weld' their contacts, after enough actuations - each open/close has a small arc that pits the contact surface over time.
that was a quick fix good work. be safe.

Nice work Curtis.
First 2 minutes I noticed they are going to have more than fan troubles.
Another good video
Great job. You make it looks easy but it’s not. It takes time to get there👍
You can never have to many flashlights. 🤙🏻
I had a brand new blower control board stuck on a few days ago.

@@HVACGUY you’re welcome
I hate that they run he line set in front of the control panel.

Nice work and Explanation. Not sure if there was a filter in the door before you started?
No there wasn’t
Great job diagnosing!
Very informative thanks

Can I get an Amen?
Dont buy a nest or a ecobee lo
Can’t see what your explaining with those wires i guess camera angle is off what controls that relay? The thermostat or the pcb?
Thermostat

Them mobile home units sequencers always confuse me lol. I'm just a beginner on working on mobile home furnace
One more quick question what are you calling a sequencer?
never mind I looked it up I call it a heat relay thanks anyway ur a smart tech
It brings in one heat strip at a time the reduce power surge!
What is with the seriously dirty filters?
the oooole 9340...
👍👍👍
Hi bro from west Alabama
What’s up man
@@HVACGUY nothing much
Can u recommend an honest tech right here in pinellas county, Florida?
If this doesn’t get fixed will it cause an increase in my electric bill?
Yes

Could be the blower module or relay
