    A old BIC pen is perfect for those board clips, good ol’ Steve Lav from New York told us on his you tube channel

    One of the best videos you've put out (information wise.) I was suspect of the board because as soon as you placed a load on the power source it would overload the circuit. Additionally, by putting pressure on your probes, it flexed the the board. Great job overall.

    That much previous moisture in an air handler cabinet will surely cause boards and internal board connections fail.

    one thing is for sure it's hard working on somthing after a home owner has played with it trying to diy, and not having a clue what they are doing an trying to use you tube videos, then they have to wind up calling some one, atleast this guy had admitted to messing with it, some will mess it up an think your stupid an say it just went out, an you find wire together that are not supose to be an know one had worked on it

    what was the cause of his much too high electric bill ??

    • @TheOnespeedbiker
      @TheOnespeedbiker หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Usually it's the result of short cycling. The fans and compressor use the most electricity starting. If there is something interrupting the cooling or heat cycle, it will turn off prematurely and then cycle back on continuously. This can be caused (likely in this case) by a bad board or thermostat, an HVAC unit not matched to the size of the house (too big is worse than too small), intake/exhaust not properly balanced, low on freon or even a dirty filter, clogged condenser and/or coil. Even the lack of a P-trap will lower the efficiency because the blower will be drawing unheated or cooled air into the air handler.

      In the worst case I've seen heat strips running with cooling and the bill can be in the thousands.

  • @jthonn
    @jthonn หลายเดือนก่อน +7

    With the cover off, won't the blower suck air from the attic instead of the filter? Anyway, nice job

    my air conditioner was having problems with outside unit not running so i replaced the condenser unit fan motor its bearings were dry and hard to move and put in new contactor so unit was running well now the stupid blower in attic decided to not come on when cooling is called for even though unit outside is on and i can manually get it to come on with manual fan on button for thermostat. I don't think i can even get up in attic through the small access door to look at the attic unit at least it is end of cooling season up in PA

    700 to 800 electric bill. Choke! If I get a 150-dollar bill in the middle of summer, I began to squirm and I live in hot Texas, and everything is electric except my cook stove. I even air-condition my 8 ft by 8ft dog's house.

Maybe that's why I like all these trade content. But I know many in the trade won't touch what a customer "f'd up". Even if the customer only took off the cover, looked around for something obvious but said nope not for me.
