Because when you finish the game the werehog levels get "repetitive", because you'll mostly use YYXXX combo or knuckle sandwich, and the combat music made a lot of people almost go "insane". So people disliking it is reasonable
I was one of the lucky few who could play modded Unleashed on the console (PS3 in my case). The modding process was much more complicated, but the result was always worth it. Having the Soap shoes, tighter Drift, no-delay Homing Attack on the jump button, and faster Wall-Jumping a la Gens' Direct Jump Skill already made the daytime gameplay much more fun. I tried making the Egg Fighters orange to resemble the Egg Pawns, and it suits them, ngl. I also found a hidden wall-crashing feature, which isn't as complete (lacking sounds and a kip/stand up animation) and funny as the Wii version's but is a nice added difficulty.
Some people say that this game wasn't ported to PC because of the bad reception it got when it first came out, but I gotta say, that is not a good excuse. I like exploring around for medals, and I love the werehog stages.

The Xbox One does have better framerate but it still dips at tight Werehog sections, Jungle Joyride and in EggmanLand. You GOTTA see how the Series X is able to perform in that game!

EXCUSE ME, I loved the Werehog!😤 Only thing annoying was the bgm changing everytime you start a fight. But yeah, Unleashed my favourite Sonic Game ever. Nothing like it, super fun. Hella nostalgic. My most favourite level was Eggmanland cause of how challenging it was. I played that stage so much it became my favourite and made it easy. Wish it got a remaster for the current day's equipment🥺
I think one of the reasons they wont bring up this game is because they delisted certain sonic games that were below the average metacritic score back in the day and unleashed was sadly included
It's impressive how some PS3/360 games like Unleashed has graphics that can live up to these times and look good without an excessive effort, compared to a lot of games nowadays (not all) that pretend and compete so hard about getting the most realistic graphics of the market and failing miserably or losing the enjoyment of the gameplay.
I will say if you really wanna play Unleashed day stages there's always SU Redux which is an enhanced version of Unleashed project, it has the physics too so. There ya go.
Man we need to let SEGA and Sonic Team know we want this game I don't care if it's just a port it would be amazing to play this game on modern hardware but with the port ofc optimize the game to run 60 man It looks like I would just have to depend on PS Now for now until we get that dream come true
Oh and it's obviously the graphics and design of everything of Unleashed making it better, it's the best look and back when things were designed the way they were and not from games like Generations, this is what we need again because the Levels of recent games just don't feel as good and they're so linear & short now, I don't like the decisions being made since the 2010s.
That's not a re-release. That's the Xbox 360 version being enabled for play on the Series X. It's still running at sub-720p and 30FPS. It doesn't look amazing, it's the exact same experience, minus the framedips.
@@Essu_ I get 1080p and 30fps on the regular Xbox one, the series x upscales it for a 4k experience which is way better, my TV doesn't support HDR and still looks better than the 360 version, the series x makes it look far better than what I have.
If Sonic Unleashed was backwards compatible for the PS5, it will play at a stable 60FPS. The PS3 version of Sonic Unleashed has uncapped frame rate at 60 but it barely reached that limit.
I find it hilarious you talk about the no port to modern hardware and what not to get the game running better and stuff and then 11 days after this dropped it got Xbox Series X/S enhanced with better graphics and 60 frames lmao
Werehog is fine, I never had a problem with it but that damn combat music was so grating.. made it seem worse than it actually was - solid 3d platforming. I really like sonic unleashed, second favorite 3d sonic game next to Lost world for me.
with the help of xenia canary, u can play the full game without crashes! With some bugs like visual bugs and 2-5 frame drop every now and then. To play like this, just go to the config file and change to gpu from “any” to “vulkan”
The reason of why the game runs better the more You play it it's because the emulator is decompressing the game's shaders as You play (This will happen when any animations, models, effects, etc appear in game). Once decompressed, and loaded correctly. The game will run better.
10:14 I sincerely believe 90% that this would be the best option, even if the first one is carried out anyway, I love SEGA and Sonic Team, but I don't know if it's my idea, but it seems that they suck when it comes to porting a game to PC.
Matt! I have a thing to say. It isn't related to the video, but it's clear how a lot of people (including me) want a sonic adventure remake. However, recently the PEGI (our rating sistem from europe) announced that every game that have something related to casinos and hazard play and things like that will be PEGI 18 (18+) The only way this can be avoided is if the game is a port. If the game is a port, the rating will stay the same. Buy if Sonic team has to get sonic adventure in modern hardwares it will probably be a remake, because a remaster doesn't make sense and a port will not sale as much as a remake. Plus if they do a port they will probably port SADX and that's bad because that remake is made whit feet. If they do a remake or a remaster, in Europe that will be rated 18+. What do you think?
ngl ever since last week xbox sonic fans been eating well cuz sonic unleashed and generation is 60fps so xbox n PC players will enjoy , it feels like a new game
And now just 3 years later i can run it on a puny gtx 750 ti with little frame drops and no crashes if you use vulkan. A consistent crash softlocks you at jungle joyride day if you use directx12
I have been playing Sonic Unleashed on Xenia this past month. It's nice to be able to play consistently over 60fps but the crashes are the worst possible thing. Every time I try and just load up the Hub world and stay in there for about 1 min, the game crashes. Try to play certain DLC stages like Cool Edge Night Act 1-2 and Act 3 as well as Windmill Isle Day Act 1-2 and Jungle Joyride Day Act 4, crashes. I know it's not perfect but I would rather have less fps then to have the game crash constantly, even in levels that you have played many times without crashes. Xenia devs just gotta work on Sonic Unleashed for the next update, I guess.
I play this game with RPCS3 so I can play without crashes. It runs at 30 fps for me and you have to use patches/mods to turn the graphics down but it's worth it for me personally since I can actually play the entire game from start to end.
@@evdestroy4121 I play the Xenia version at over 60fps but honestly I just wish the crashes would stop. I even installed the full Sonic Unleashed DLC stages and I can't enjoy some of my favorrites like Windmill Isle Day Act 1-2 because of crashes and sometimes can't load into hub worlds with crashing instantly. idk about if ps5 has a fps boosted one but i can say the one on series x rocks
7:23 dude just predicted Sonic Frontiers 😂
Unleash needs a remake. It was my favorite sonic game when I was younger
I like how in 2022 sonic unleashed is more talked about than ever
Honestly I wouldn't mind Sonic Teams next big project to be a PORT (No addtions that nobody asked for) just a Simple port of Unleashed for PC.
Just got the CD soundtrack for this game today at 2:25p.m. and it's the Planetary Pieces Sonic World Adventure Original Soundrack CD and I'm listening to it while watching this! 7:22p.m. 6/15/2023
EXCUSE ME, I loved the Werehog!😤
Only thing annoying was the bgm changing everytime you start a fight.

Bruh i love the werehog-
The pc version is literally how it looks on xenia. Love it
I think one of the reasons they wont bring up this game is because they delisted certain sonic games that were below the average metacritic score back in the day and unleashed was sadly included
sonic unleashed is the best sonic game. it all went downhill from there.
3:46 you can easily fix this by pressing F4 on your keyboard and it removes it permanently
Oh thanks!
Oh God, to be able to play Unleashed from start to finish in 4K 60FPS😩
Now ya can on Xbox!
@@ThatOneDudeWhoPostsStuff With a 4k monitor
I'm not sure if you would know the difference though
Lost world was the last game to have somewhat ok level design
You can go find your save files in whatever drive Xenia is installed under. Delete the file and it'll restart from square one
Still looks incredible and better than even the newer sonic games.

Technically it has re released, but only on the series x and it looks amazing, be nice if it was also for ps5.
And now Sonic Unleashed on Xbox runs at a native 60fps as of yesterday!
Best 3d sonic game by a country mile, my uncle is the goat for getting me that game and I'm ashamed I traded it in for some other dogshit title 😭
I find it hilarious you talk about the no port to modern hardware and what not to get the game running better and stuff and then 11 days after this dropped it got Xbox Series X/S enhanced with better graphics and 60 frames lmao
You know, I don’t doubt that Unleashed in 60 FPS is better than Sex
Oh for gods sake Sega just port this game to PC already
8:07 Yes you are, because Shadow was ment to be more powerful than Sonic in theory. But we aall know how the "protagonist power" works right?
Sega composers on their way to make absolute banger for anothrr game about blue hedgehog:
Werehog is fine, I never had a problem with it but that damn combat music was so grating.. made it seem worse than it actually was - solid 3d platforming. I really like sonic unleashed, second favorite 3d sonic game next to Lost world for me.
When it comes to sonic unleashed I always play the wii version
Same bro I play the ps2 copy
nice, the one version that fucked up the entire boost mechanic... no thanks Dx
I remember I saw that game on 8 Smart TV when I first went into a Smartphone store to buy my first phone.
No way Xenia is this smooth.
Gex on modern hardware truly is the greatest gift bestowed upon us humans from modders and emulation.
6:01
I like the werehog
Sonic Unleashed needs to just be ported to Steam.
with the help of xenia canary, u can play the full game without crashes!
However, recently the PEGI (our rating sistem from europe) announced that every game that have something related to casinos and hazard play and things like that will be PEGI 18 (18+)
The only way this can be avoided is if the game is a port.
"Like sex, but better." - guess my lonely self is gonna have to emulate Sonic Unleashed then
ngl ever since last week xbox sonic fans been eating well cuz sonic unleashed and generation is 60fps so xbox n PC players will enjoy , it feels like a new game
And now just 3 years later i can run it on a puny gtx 750 ti with little frame drops and no crashes if you use vulkan. A consistent crash softlocks you at jungle joyride day if you use directx12
This video is basically telling us that we need a remaster 👀
also the more you play, the more the shaders compile so it's less prone to crashing over time
I have been playing Sonic Unleashed on Xenia this past month.
Constant crashes for me too. Sucks
I play this game with RPCS3 so I can play without crashes. It runs at 30 fps for me and you have to use patches/mods to turn the graphics down but it's worth it for me personally since I can actually play the entire game from start to end.
I saw you on discord.
@@dreamcastshadow2970 I see me all the time on Discord
@@evdestroy4121 I play the Xenia version at over 60fps but honestly I just wish the crashes would stop. I even installed the full Sonic Unleashed DLC stages and I can't enjoy some of my favorrites like Windmill Isle Day Act 1-2 because of crashes and sometimes can't load into hub worlds with crashing instantly. Xenia devs need to fix Sonic Unleashed.
@@Adalz27 They can't just "fix" Sonic Unleashed. The emulator is made to focus on more than one game, you just have to wait for updates and hope that whatever causes the crashes is fixed at some point.
@@evdestroy4121 Nah, this issue mainly occurs in Sonic Unleashed as compared to any other game. So that's why I said I will wait until they "fix it". Go look at what RPCS3 did for Sonic Unleashed and you'll see what I mean about fixing it. Besides who else is able to "fix" it?
I always saw the frame dropping as some sort of cinematic slow-down.
i love rewatching this video idk why
Matt done the unkown 😳
all i need is a remake where it’s literally just a graphics update
don’t touch anything else
Still waiting on a Sonic Unleashed Ultimate.
Werehog is fun people are babies
Still the smoothest 3d sonic gameplay EVER, if colors got a remaster. Then so should unleashed
Colors did, It got Sonic Colors Ultimate
It’s only a matter of time until someone true ports Sonic Unleashed
