I've been considering giving iPhone another chance, mainly because 95% of the people I know have one. I've had Pixel 8 Pro for over a year and it is a great device still, but I am ready for something different. Also, I am missing Samsung and the Ultra line and am thinking about waiting for the S25 Ultra (though iPhone 16 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro are $300 cheaper).
Which has a better video camera, the Pixel 9 or the iphone 15? For example, at a concert at night, which one makes better recordings, and which captures bass, low, and high sounds better? It's important that the sound doesn't crackle
The telephoto side-by-side was not a "very clear difference". They looked so similar in most of the samples and in a few the iPhone's looked slightly better. Jon needs to take his bias glasses off. Just because pixels AI was using chatgpt or something and his iPhone clearly wasn't signed in to chatgpt and the pixel is known for having great cameras, I think that influenced his perception.
Yes, he forgets that on the iPhone, you can use Google Advanced and ChatGPT (iOS 18.2 beta). This is a very unfair and biased take. It is disappointing that he did not mention the advantage of the iPhone: Apple Intelligence is only on Apple devices, but Apple devices can have access to any LLM.
Pixel destroyed the iPhone with the AI capabilities… I recently left Apple for Samsung and Gemini is great, so much better than Siri! Any information I would need it can tell me through and through just like your demonstration! Jon been watching you since the MacBook video way back in the Jon4Lakers Day… Keep on going my man!
Gemini on my pixel doesn’t quite have capability of the Google assistant. Gemini on my iPhone works about the same. I load up my iPhone with Google services and it’s almost a wash. Spam detection is the only major differentiation, for me at least. I can get the unwieldy ios notifications under control but it takes way too much work. I know there are a lot of other QOL Android features but nothing too show stopping (clipboard etc.) That said, with Pixel 10, I’ll likely go all in (pending that G5 review)
The video is still super choppy on the Pixel when you ask it to zoom taking videos. It skips frames. Video boost helps, but it takes way too long to process them. It takes hours most of the time. It's just too long, when the iPhone doesn't have to process them at all on a server.
Having the power button on top of the volume button is much more practical. I am a long-term pixel user, and I have used the volume button much more than the power button. On android phones, Power button, apart from the On/Off function, doesn't serve functions that warrants frequent use.
I really appreciate your efforts! Could you help me with something unrelated: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
Jon with another perfect comparison video. Well done, sir. This video confirmed my choice and helped my wife step out of the iPhone for the first time in 6 years.
So.... for video recording, mainly content creation, the iPhone 16 Pro still wins? Is that what I'm understanding here? I see owners of the Pixel 9 Pro feel otherwise, which i figured would be the case.
If you spending over $1k the pixel should not be in consideration as long as the s24u exist. I own the the p9pxl and regret trading in my s24u for it. Pixels good this year but cost way too much for what you get. And if you also factor in the ecosystems ios and galaxy blows googles out of the water
One thing that has been influencing my decision more when considering phones is feature parity. From the gimmick features to messaging standards, I don't have anything specific more to say about that but I'm curious what other people think about how feature parity across different ecosystems affects their decision. For an example of what I mean. There are certain staple features of phones that are expected to be on phones and going into the future, can I be certain that I can assume that certain new features that might become staples, will be added to the hardware software ecosystem of the phone im buying to a acceptable level of quality
I was a lifetime iPhone user and recently switched to pixel fold like a month ago. Simply was tried of being feed the same old design from Apple. Only thing I won't get rid of is my MacBook Air, Apple does that perfectly.
As someone who switched from lenovo to MacBook air, I'm so disappointed with apple :( Where is the power??? I'll admit, I have many tabs open but my lenovo could handle that. The one thing apple has done perfectly is the apple pencil for iPads! You cant beat that! BUt I regret getting a MacBook air so bad!!! The only good thing is that it's light
I couldnt part myself from the Pixel 9 Pro XL, but as i create videos, Iphone suited me in that category, so using the Iphone only as a camera phone, while Pixel 9 Pro XL is my daily driver, love it so much already :D
Duuuude. I get what you’re saying, but to suggest that the iPhone is somehow specced lower than the Pixel is madness. I have both of these phones and they each have their strengths. iPhone trounces the pixel in performance and battery life. Obviously the Gemini AI is currently on top, but software updates happen. At the end of the day iPhones are great for video and overall ecosystem. Pixel has great built in features, image processing, and AI. Pick what works for you. I love both phones and each have their strengths. Choose wisely.
@@ak1996able Yes, but in both cases, the iPhone gets greater SOT and has better RAM management--I hate the Pixel shutting down apps if I do not use them for a while.
I want to go back to using a Pixel again after having a great experience using the Pixel 3a, but I'm heavily in the "walled garden" of Apple's ecosystem and it works. The SIM card slot and a different design that the Pixel offers makes it enticing to have. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with a sim-less iPhone option in the US and would have to pay more to obtain a SIM card option iPhone.
It may just be me, but power button on top of the volume rocker just feels natural to me. I use the power button way more than the volume rocker and my thumb naturally lands there.
I bet sometimes you feel silly confessing to something like this, but I understand! I switched to Android once, and I love everything about it, except… I can’t stand material design’s squared off white notifications, their size, the fonts used, everything about it, felt off, and it’s a big big reason why I went back to the iPhone, as unreasonable as it sounds
@@megamegaO lol, I'm serious. When I had an iphone the number one reason I jail broke it was so that I could move my apps around and then it just became more trouble than it was worth. I hate how my apps would cover up the picture on my home screen. Also as phones got bigger and bigger it didn't make sense for one handed use that my dominant hand was in the bottom right but my apps always started in the top left.
Show the comparison between Face ID on the iPhone and the under screen fingerprint sensor/Face Unlock on the Pixel….I’ve had both and that alone is enough to make me choose the iPhone
This older white guy who was also informative decently on another comment section basically stating that he was always an iPhone guy, but every couple to a few years he would try a Google phone and he always came back to Apple. Then he concluded at this year's pixel. 9 pro is the first time he's ever chose a Android/ Google phone over the iPhone. Me on the other hand have been with the company since the HTC G1 to the versions now.
I agree with all of that John, especially the buttons on the pixel. Flip them mofos and we're golden! Love my P9PRO. I LIKE my 16Pro but I'm not glued into the Apple Garden. Very easy to jump back and forth for me.
That opening where you demonstrated how much better Gemini was I thought was in Apple’s favor. Just tell me what I want to know! I don’t need my phone to be my friend. (Yet, I mean sometimes I am lonely)
Yes, I never use that feature and suspect it wears thin after a couple of goes. Creators are sometimes stuck in their tech bubble, which is why they are wrong so often.
The advantage of the Pixel in the UK is that it loses its value overnight. So it will be worth 40% less when you open the box. That is great for people buying secondhand as you can get them for the price of top-mid-range. Sadly, iPhones hold onto their value like limpets to a rock. There are plenty of Pixels on eBay, and many are saying they are returning to the iPhone. I have used both, and although the Pixel has more RAM and a larger battery, the iPhone has superior battery life and much better RAM management. These are fundamentally instructive to the software and show that the iPhone not only has a superior chipset but also better software management. As for AI, Gemini AI costs £20 a month, and as I was already a user, I could not get the free year. Of course, you can also get Gemini Advanced on an iPhone. I have cancelled as the iOS 18.2 beta has all the AI needed and costs me nothing. I do not have conversations with my phone, so that chat feature is moot. But the iPhone has ChatGPT, so you can do that if that is your choice.
Apple answers your questions like a robot while google is like your friend . That was pretty insane how google just speaked like a friend and recommend you hospitals
You just can’t not appreciate what Google has done with the newest Pixels, they seem not to have any weak points anymore. Great design, feel really premium, well thought with great software and camera system 👌 Having said that however, for an iPhone user, being deeply invested in Apple ecosystem (family members too) it just doesn’t really matter 🤷♂️ But, again, better competition should push iPhones to get better, hopefully. So fingers crossed Google!
Gemini is on iPhone. I’m using it right now and it works the same way as it does on pixel Jon if you’re gonna do this, you should be upfront about that.
I have a 15 pro Max as well as a pixel 9 pro XL. I installed the Gemini app on my iPhone 15 pro Max. There's no competition, pixel is better and much easier and quicker to use.
I’ve never owned a Pixel but this pixel 9 pro seems great I’m an Apple guy deep in eco system etc Ill be interested to see long term reviews like do Pixels bog down more as they age as generally IPhones dont my old work phone is an iPhone 8 and it still feels pretty snappy which is unreal to me. As far as AI Apple intelligence isint that great I use chat GBT and perplexity and that works great for me 🤷♂️

Why do you all guys forget to test out the FRONT camera VIDEO in low-light? You will be definitely surprised about the result on Pixel. Google has to finally fix it, talk about it!
I love the PIxel! But this video seems super biased. iPhone is blazing fast, the processors aren't comparable, I am also no camera nerd, but the 5x telephoto looked just as good on both phones, in fact I preferred the iPhone shots more. Video was actually not that good(at least your demo) and the video is iPhone is objectively better, audio is better, more reliable and heats up the phone a lot lesser. I daily drive both phones(office and personal) and prefer the pixel for most things but iPhone camera overall has been way better and much more reliable. Also, I am 7 months into using the iPhone 15 pro and just 2.5 months in with the Pixel 9 Pro but the iPhone still feels faster and less laggy. I still love the pixel more because I prefer Android over iOS but hardware crown goes to Apple hands down.
I’m really considering android, is just so boring and they charge so much for the same ish each year is crazy. Basic stuff shouldn’t be a feature but let them tell it it’s “innovation” 😩
A great comparison. Two great phones for sure. More than ever it's down to personal preference more than anything. That said, I'm a little disappointed you didn't at least pay a mention to privacy. That's one of those intangibles you mentioned that I think is a pretty big win for Apple for anyone that cares about that sort of thing.
Except that deleted photos resurfaced on iphones. Apple had to issue an emergency fix which violates the privacy policy. Not sure if you were aware of that massive bug.

It is done in the cloud, where Google uses your video for machine learning. Most of us do not want that and will only useit when on-device.
I know there are a lot of other QOL Android features but nothing too show stopping (clipboard etc.) That said, with Pixel 10, I’ll likely go all in (pending that G5 review)
in what way does the pixle beat the iphone on the spec sheet?? iphone has greater base storage, much faster SoC.....
0:03 lol what spec sheet are you looking at exactly
The video is still super choppy on the Pixel when you ask it to zoom taking videos. It skips frames. Video boost helps, but it takes way too long to process them. It takes hours most of the time. It's just too long, when the iPhone doesn't have to process them at all on a server.
Having the power button on top of the volume button is much more practical. I am a long-term pixel user, and I have used the volume button much more than the power button.
On android phones, Power button, apart from the On/Off function, doesn't serve functions that warrants frequent use.
When are we going to start seeing Panorama to be included in reviews?
I really appreciate your efforts! Could you help me with something unrelated: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
8:35 I could tell. That quality difference was a jump scare. Looks awful.
Pixels good this year but cost way too much for what
you get. And if you also factor in the ecosystems ios and galaxy blows googles out of the water
I would love to know which settings he used to get the Pixel-look on the iPhone photo
I think he is talking about how pixel has more RAM and a bigger mah battery
@@ak1996able Yes, but in both cases, the iPhone gets greater SOT and has better RAM management--I hate the Pixel shutting down apps if I do not use them for a while.
Choose wisely? Picking a phone is a life or death choice now 🤦🏾♂️
@@iam_nell It was a joke, Nell.
@@alexkudryk1939 uh huh. Yeah sure it was 👍🏾
I want to go back to using a Pixel again after having a great experience using the Pixel 3a, but I'm heavily in the "walled garden" of Apple's ecosystem and it works. The SIM card slot and a different design that the Pixel offers makes it enticing to have. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with a sim-less iPhone option in the US and would have to pay more to obtain a SIM card option iPhone.
That's why Apple does this, to lock you in 😉
@ Yeah I know! The ease airdrop and the iMessage between the apple devices makes it seem less. But the iPhone iOS is stale
Wheres the s24U?
Nowhere near these phones 😅, sorry.
Nearly a year old now

It may just be me, but power button on top of the volume rocker just feels natural to me. I use the power button way more than the volume rocker and my thumb naturally lands there.
I really love ❤️ how you approach your concepts to videos this is fascinating ❤️👊🤙
Thank you!
Trounces is a bit of a reach, bro, especially considering the chips alone. The 18 Pro wraps circles aroundthe tenor G4.
I love the way you do reviews.
Very visually appealing video
🙏🙏🙏
What? Apple did what? You can move apps anywhere you want??? Not joking, this is the number 1 reason I haven't used apple in years
I bet sometimes you feel silly confessing to something like this, but I understand! I switched to Android once, and I love everything about it, except… I can’t stand material design’s squared off white notifications, their size, the fonts used, everything about it, felt off, and it’s a big big reason why I went back to the iPhone, as unreasonable as it sounds
@adrianramos4721 totally get it
Please be fr
@@megamegaO lol, I'm serious. When I had an iphone the number one reason I jail broke it was so that I could move my apps around and then it just became more trouble than it was worth.
I hate how my apps would cover up the picture on my home screen. Also as phones got bigger and bigger it didn't make sense for one handed use that my dominant hand was in the bottom right but my apps always started in the top left.
@@thays9999 I jail broke my I touch to get free apps 😭 lol
Jon chose Vega as the voice! Hells yeah Jon! ✋
Show the comparison between Face ID on the iPhone and the under screen fingerprint sensor/Face Unlock on the Pixel….I’ve had both and that alone is enough to make me choose the iPhone
Wow, Gemini is amazing look at that prospects and the intelligence it's offers.
Apple is the Scientology of technology 😮
6:32 based on this one photo the iPhoto is a million time better. That Pixel is genuinely awful.
Apple Intelligence = pre-schooler 😆😆😆
Google Gemini = PhD graduate 🤟🤟🤟
You can use Gemini on any phone I use it on my Galaxy s22 ultra
And the pixel just got even better with the December drop update.
yeah..gemini live uses 1.5 flash model for now so not a good comparison
I hate the power button location on the iphone 16 pro
Nice video Jon!
Really? I would say software NOT hardware is the difference. pixel is underpowered compared to almost all other flagships
Creators are sometimes stuck in their tech bubble, which is why they are wrong so often.
iPhone user here. I completely agree with Gemini being much better than Siri. I just downloaded the Gemini app to my iPhone and fixed that. 😅
Apple answers your questions like a robot while google is like your
friend . That was pretty insane how google just speaked like a friend and recommend you hospitals
Gemini can be used on iPhone too
You just can’t not appreciate what Google has done with the newest Pixels, they seem not to have any weak points anymore.
5:28 well I like the left better. It handled hdr wayyy better. So it’s probably the iPhone. Bingo.
I know Samsung does as I was a Samsung guy but that was around the Note 10 era. I’ve been thinking about trading one of my iPhones for pixel 9 pro. As far as AI Apple intelligence isint that great I use chat GBT and perplexity and that works great for me 🤷♂️
The change in video at 8:30 is blindingly obvious and does not look good lol. Google working overtime paying these channels
I heard that pixel has an update coming that will improve the video recording
I like the voicemail feature on iPhone better than any android phone
I played Call Of Duty Mobile On OnePlus Pad Go it is a great gaming tablet at this price point it gives us 90hz display and 8 GB ram and 256 GB storage and helio G99 proccessor and I dont know why OnePlus gave the Proccessor underclocked
This is not apple ai or the new Siri. Wont be out until next year. Come on Jon.
Still won’t be as good as Google Gemini
Which is worse. Because the 16 commercials implying that it already has AI, while the pixel 9 actually already has it.
ok and by that time gemini will make another leap also
@@Hunter818 It is powered by ChatGPT so I wouldn’t be so confident in that.
@@roysalman6720 Powered by ChatGPT so we’ll see. So far I think OpenAI is ahead of Gemini.
I used both..but google is another level..best experience phone I ever used..it's amazing
Why do you all guys forget to test out the FRONT camera VIDEO in low-light? You will be definitely surprised about the result on Pixel. Google has to finally fix it, talk about it!
The Gemini thing would be a real winner for the Pixel... if only it wasn't also available on the iPhone.
Bro doesn't age... Been watching him since the beginning.. still looks the same
Is it just me or the Pixel looks more premium from the rear in comparison to the iphone?
He shouldn't compare Gemini Live vs Siri. Just the regular Gemini (non-live) can help with email and all that stuff.
Phone of the year without a doubt! Google smashed it this year🎉 loving my 9 pro xl
you are reviewing the pixel 9 pro and i like that.
Jon doesn’t pick the iPhone in a comparison video…”shocking”. It’s so predictable at this point.
I’m really considering android, is just so boring and they charge so much for the same ish each year is crazy. Basic stuff shouldn’t be a feature but let them tell it it’s “innovation” 😩
Bro just the beginning of the video with gemini vs Siri bro I want to leave my iPhone 15 pro max for a pixel now
I have an iphone 16 pro and i use gemini 😂😆
A great comparison. Two great phones for sure. More than ever it's down to personal preference more than anything. That said, I'm a little disappointed you didn't at least pay a mention to privacy. That's one of those intangibles you mentioned that I think is a pretty big win for Apple for anyone that cares about that sort of thing.
Except that deleted photos resurfaced on iphones. Apple had to issue an emergency fix which violates the privacy policy. Not sure if you were aware of that massive bug.
