i eat kimchi in Korea quite often. There's normal (spicey kimchi) and water kimchi (non spicey). Both ok for taste.

Appreciate this video. I’m a 37 year old nurse that had a BP of 165/115 the other day. I noticed my blood flow is less in my right arm now. Doc put me on Lisinopril to start. I’m just hoping the doctor is knowledgeable of future trends and research in medicine (he’s about my age). I bought kyolic and kimchi… I’ve stopped eating bread, cereal, oatmeal, etc.. mostly eating vegetables and some meat now.

EVERY DAY, I start my one meal a day with a cup of sauerkraut and kimchi, I follow that with a BIG A$$, raw, multi-vegetable salad (I’m talking large popcorn bowl sized salad) consisting of leafy greens, mushrooms, bell peppers, shaved brussel sprouts, broccoli, raw yellow onion, cucumber, blueberries, blackberries and/or raspberries dressed with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, cumin, EVOO and balsamic vinegar. I then eat at least 100 grams of protein from a combination of sources…beef, salmon, sardines, eggs and dark meat roasted chicken. I also walk 8 miles every other day. I lost 50 lbs, got off 7 medications with doctor’s guidance and have had the best blood test results ever. I ONLY ALLOW these approved foods in my house. This means if I have a craving, I must get in my car and drive to Kroger. Usually, the cravings pass…BUT…I have made that drive. I relax at 11:00pm when Kroger closes. I started all of this January 2022. I still follow this lifestyle. I am rarely hungry. Last night I had a craving at midnight. I ate another cup of sauerkraut and kimchi and slept very soundly. As I write this, I will prepare 6 boiled eggs after I send this to you. I will peel them and take them with me to work. I will FORCE myself to start eating them at 4pm. At 5pm I will eat my BIG A$$ salad, eat 1 lb of wild caught sockeye salmon. I might finish with a can of wild caught sardines. I eat those outside because they stink up the house. YOU CAN DO THIS….I had a horrible diet for most of my 60 years. I traveled extensively, ate three meals a day and snacked on Doritos, Peanut M&Ms, Pretzels washed down with an orange gatorade…EVERY night I was on the road. Mr. Glover…YOU CAN DO THIS.

Great info! I've been thinking of adding KIMCHI back into my diet, the Dr. is correct!
Because of arthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis issues with associated inflammation, I went grain free two and a half years ago. Gave up high oxalate veggies second (look up oxalates Sally K. Norton), so a mostly carnivore way of eating has been great. Beef, beef jerky, lamb, Bison, sardines/seafood, 5%fat plain Greek yogurt, eggs, butter. I'm quite sure that my earlier life as a vegetarian for MANY years of eating toxic high oxalate plants (spinach, chard, most beans, sweet potato, potato, almonds and more) are the root cause of much pain and suffering for myself and others.
So glad I stopped by to hear this very good info...cabbage is low oxalate anyway, so it is high time I add kimchi back into my LIFE! Thank you Dr.!

One remark about the fish... Cold water fish are the best, and if you are eating farmed Salmon, you are wasting your time, or even making your health worse... the fish don't make the Omega 3 oil, they get it from their diet in the wild, and farmed fish are fed pellets which don't have the Omega 3 to get passed up the food chain... Krill is the better oil as a supplement, because it is food that creates the Omega 3 for further up the food chain, without the potential of mercury contamination or such... some of which may get into the processing chain...

But like Taurine it was surpassed by many other flashy supplements promising everything short of being resurrected when you die. I have been on and off the wagon regarding healthy eating. To jameswarhoi: There is some opposition to flax seed by Dr. Gundry, re. lectins. Just mentioning this, tobe considered. Also, the benefits of green tea consumption are numerous & espoused by numerous experts. But, I’ve learned that green tea is full of sodium fluoride , due to contaminated soil conditions, where the plant is grown. Supposedly, Chinese green tea has 10x the sodium fluoride content in a cup of tea, than regular green tea! Please, someone prove me wrong!

For those of you considering adding fermented stuff to your diet (but afraid of disgusting smell/taste of natto or kimchi), start with sauerkraut or semipickled cucumbers (3 to 7 days of fermentation without vinegar). Both items smell nicely, are crispy and taste great if prepped by a knowledgeable person. Slavic stores must be an appropriate source of both.

    • @howardstewart2549
      @howardstewart2549 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Plaque is only found in the arteries. serum cholesterol is an immune defense response to inflammation & anabolic(deoxygenated) cholesterol, when it reacts with calcium& other substances( fatty & enzymes & hormones traveling through the arteries), hardens (calcifies) within the artery wall to become hard plaque. If inflammation is ongoing, soft plaque, which is the harmful, deadly form of plaque, doesn’t calcify. I know of no therapy, commercially at least, that can remove plaque to improve health, other than to surgically implant stents, for last resort. Stents don’t prevent heart attack or stroke. Remember, I’m not a doctor & I’m not giving medical advice. Got to cover our asses, nowadays, when giving advice or opinion. Free speech in the U.S.A. has become a joke, especially with respect to medical therapy, & claims for curing pathologies.

Pro tip: it's easy to ferment fresh kimchi. Put it into a glass jar like a pint sized Ball canning jar, squeeze it down so the water rises above the cabbage, insert some kind of barrier to keep air out, such as a slice of cauliflower Stem, or even cabbage leaves, and tighten the lid only slightly, to allow gas to escape. Don't fill it to the top, or liquid will seep out and make things mess, and attract vermin.
Over the course of days and even weeks, the color of the kimchi will change, and you will smell the difference. By the way, before you do any of this, taste it. You might want to add some garlic or salt, or even anchovy or even cooked meat or fish...Yes, you read that right. They do that in Korea.

Not trying to be difficult just a very important point most miss. Did it help? Im not sure but I stopped taking it and now use nattokinase instead which has been shown in a recent study to be superior to any statin at reversing plaque. I take 12000fu daily. 6000fu with breakfast and 6000fu with dinner. I also eat three poached eggs everyday. I started with a calcuim score of 300 but have not had another scan yet. If I was to give some professional feedback, on some of the topics raised, I do have some personal doubts/opinions about the long term benefits of doing cardio at 100% heartrate intensity. Which, in short, relates to ratio of lipids getting stuck in the aterial walls at 100% vs training at a lower intensity for longer.
I will just quickly point at the data that shows blood pressure affects rates of lipids getting stuck and thus the speed of build up of plaque! 😉

Familial history is a very strong marker for heart disease. Your journey starts with a cardiologist. Get a coronary artery calcium score, CAC. Then, you will know if you need a plaque reversal diet, or a maintenance diet.

Mk7 is claimed to be the more bioavailable(more easily digested/absorbed) form of K2 supplement. K2 is considered to be the most important form of K vitamin, nutritionally, though k1 is also mentioned as important. What do I know? Thank you, Dr.D(Dr. Brewer) for your informative podcasts. I participate in these comments & reply sections because it not only reinforces my understanding of medical/nutritional issues, but is a faster way to get awareness of specific questions & answers, that I am previously ignorant about. So, thanks for the forum. I’m seeking to become healthy, using food as medicine. Putting knowledge to work is power.

Kimchi varies a lot. Change your source until you find one you like. I was told that every family used to have their own house taste of kimchi!

Hey Dr Ford, I love the way you explain this to us. I am so interested in knowing more about the HIT training. Can you give an example of what people should be doing to achieve this in 5 minutes please? 😊

I try to eat a spoonfull of organic saurkraut, shredded red & green cabbage and a raw carrot daily. Brocolli 3 times a week. Sardines and salmon 4 times a week.

Sardines are loaded with arsenic. Google what happened to Joe Rogan who ate too many.

      Only 2 cans a week.
Rogan was eating 3 cans a day.
Drink too much water and you will drown.

Can some of these be consumed if you've already had a heart attack and are taken medications like blood thinners, anti-coagulants, and statins? I had a heart attack eight weeks ago, and now have two stents in place.

Same here. I recently started back at the gym lifting weights. I feel much better and from the looks people are giving me, I would say I look better too. I also started elevating my feet about two feet above my butt and head every day. Swelling in my feet disappears immediately.

I heard that if taking blood thinners tablet you can’t take natto.
Not sure if it’s true or not.

Right so I’ll do a bit of sprinting then eat donuts? Nutrition is always no1, you’re fooling yourself if you think you can excercise your way out of poor nutrition, you’ve fallen for the big food lie.
