    In all my years, from being a young girl to a full grown woman, I have not received such a well-rounded detailed description of our menstrual cycle. WOW! Thank you so much, I have to watch this video a few times to take notes and put it up on my wall next to my affirmations. I’m sharing with my gfs! You’re amazing! Thank you!

    Guy here, my girlfriend recommended this video so I could help understand and connect with her better and I'm so glad she did. I've only ever had male teachers briefly discussing these topics in one or two health classes years ago, and all those who don't menstruate in the classes laughing or not paying attention. I hope this type of education is encouraged for everyone so we can all understand each other

      your comment got me thinking, i and i have kind of concluded that this masculine oriented world you are talking about is a pretty ne thing. As far as i'm aware, our female ancestors really knew how to care for their bodies and assuming feminine behaviours; also the existence of fertility goddesses throughout different cultures in history also implies women taking care of themselves

      Yay! I really wish more women knew more about their menstrual cycle & how important it is for overall health. I've heard that nursing school is really challenging - you're amazing for taking that vocation, I have the utmost respect for nurses!

      Yes, I completely agree! I grew up in a home where my cycle was a source of embarrassment and shame, so much so that I didn't once mention my period to my husband for our entire first year together - he later told me that he was a little worried I just didn't have them! My husband grew up in a very different home, and because of this has always been very understanding of my cycle. It's lovely.

    I’m a lost teenager girl who’s trying to come into her womanhood since in a some months I’ll be 18, I thank god that I found your channel when I did because I finally feel like I’m finding my way out of this forest in my mind.       Just remember you're still a child. Being and understanding what it is to be a woman comes with time and you will feel it more than understanding it with your mind.. also to be feminine is about being you because you're a woman/girl so just listen to yourself withought getting distracted by the media✌️

    YES. So many fitness TH-camrs INSIST on doing heavy weightlifting during menstruation. I personally would feel faint if I tried something like that! I always find myself craving sweets and citrus etc. during my bleeding phase. Everything you mention here just seems so _natural._
    This may well be the best video I’ve watched so far this year. THANK YOU.

      I remember that time that I could not do PE class in school because I had just gotten my period and I was in so much pain. Our professor insisted I did abs that were supposed to take all my cramps away. I remember doing those effing abs and crunches with tears in my eyes. Not only it didn't help, but it made it worse and made me feel like I was lazy. I refused to do it again after, but wdf. They were afraid we were using it as an excuse not to participate, while they could have addressed the topic and make an educational time out of it.

      I would look into those TH-camrs ages by the way, and remember their body is not your body. The body changes every 5-7 years depending on the person.

    I don't think I have ever commented on a TH-cam video but I have just had to pause and appreciate you on how well articulated the menstrual talk is in this video. This video needs to be compulsory in all schools. I am 24 and have learnt more about my cycle in 5 minutes than I have in the last 10 years battling through my cycle and pushing myself when I indeed should have prioritized rest. Thankyou for this incredibly valuable content!!

      Amen! I’m 39 and feel the same way. I knew the main concepts, but she really gave us a full picture, along with excellent advice. She also put it in a positive light, which gave me a sense of wonder about our bodies.

      I honestly don't shave, primarily because I hate the stubble, but if it doesn't bother my husband, I don't have a need to.

    Your videos are so refreshing! I love them sm, thank u. I’m on birth control (the patch) and I’ve decided to keep having my period once a month around the same time each month because I felt like if I just kept the patch on 24/7 I wouldn’t feel so feminine. I don’t mind having my period. I used to have the worst cramps to the point where I would go to the hospital. But ever since birth control it has helped w my cramps, my mood, and my overall body health. I did research and the whole reason why I had bad cramps was because of my bad diet. Now I only eat healthier food options as much as I can. I stopped eating meat in 2017 due to acne / breaking out. Ever since I haven’t eaten meat I’ve felt happier, lighter and less nauseous. I still eat dairy, eggs, etc they don’t harm my body or upset my stomach I have a very strong stomach. I don’t eat junk food or fast food anymore like how I used too and it’s changed my life dramatically!

    wow. this video has honestly changed my perspective on so many things, the description of the menstrual cycle was something i wish i had heard sooner - and i’m only 18! my period pretty much stopped over a year and a half ago and i kind of just shrugged it off as a PCOS symptom, but now i’m realising that this might be a huge reason for why my hormones have been crazy, why my mood has swung around so much, why i’ve often felt so tired, stressed, and overall down. thank you so much for educating women and girls, i will absolutely be recommending this video to others because i believe this info is so important to know, and you are making such a positive change in this world by sharing it!

    For the past years I've been feeling the need to sleep/rest more at certain times around my period, and to eat more healthy in order to feel better/less bloated and have less pain. I also feel like I find myself everytime I have my period, which is a wonderful feeling and observation. I'm fully convinced about what you're saying. Thanks for this beautiful explanation!
    Today I got my period. After resting all day I had the sudden urge to dress up nicely (which I rarely do), with the goal to look and smell feminine, and celebrate my femininity

    Omg! I wish many women as well as men watch this video because ma'am you're truly making the fullest use of social media. This things aren't taught by anyone as they are labelled as unnecessary and that's so sad. I am so grateful I actually knew all of these stuff through medical (most gynaec/ob related) articles even before I got my first period. Ofc i didn't know how to do that but what I used to in my early years is I notes down my first and last day of period, duration, flow, symptoms and manually predicted next date so I could be ready for the next battle LoL. But since last 3 years I have been using app for tracking my feminine cycles and the events occurring in my body. I swear some these advices are life savers and I am glad I already knew them.

    I love how articulate and thorough you were in this video, especially about our menstrual cycles and how to be more aware of our natural cycles and levels.     So I got married when I turned 18. I remember thinking the first thing I should do is get on birth control. Why? It was my own husband saying “honey I don’t think that’s necessary, & probably not healthy for you to suppress your natural cycle”. I was shocked and because of him I never had to go through the regulation tour body does on BC. Every woman I knew thought it normal to get on birth control. MedicL staff are failing in this area. My older sister basically disliked any form of intimacy for the first 2 years of her married life from birth control. She then spent another year trying to regulate back and understand what was happening to her hormones. She regretted it. More women should be encouraged to seek other methods other than literally getting rid of ones PMS. Highly recommend menstrual cups. They changed my life!

    Well that does it. I am going to be 53 next month and used to have PMDD before my hysterectomy about 4 years ago, but I still have my ovaries. I work for a naturopathic doctor and have been putting off getting my hormone testing.     Day 1-5 (bleeding)
    - energy & hormone levels low
    - prioritise rest & replenishment
    - gentle exercise is best as cortisol (stress hormone) isn’t as abundantly released
    - nutrient dense foods to strengthen your body: iron (beans, kelp, pumpkin seeds, oats, leafy greens, salmon, eggs) + vitamin c (iron absorbed more easily) + fermented foods (better for digestion) + warm broths (soothing to uterus) + liquid aminos (restore electrolytes & minerals) + hydrating fruits like watermelon or cucumber to reduce bloating
    Follicular Phase
    Day 6-12 (preparing for eggs to leave)
    - energy & oestrogen (appetite depressing hormone) levels rising
    - may find difficulty to focus on mundane tasks as feeling very creative & optimistic about the future
    - gradual increase in intensity of workout is best
    - continue with iron dense foods to mitigate feeling of fatigue
    Ovulatory Phase
    Day 13-15 (ovulation)
    - oestrogen, mood & libido levels at peak
    - breast tenderness, headache & cramps
    - ovulation is an inflammatory process
    - high intensity exercise is best as energy levels are high
    - fibre dense foods to detoxify increased hormones like fruits, beans, avocado, oats, carrots, broccoli, nuts, fatty fish
    Luteal Phase
    Day 16-28
    - progesterone thickens womb lining in preparation to receive a fertilised egg, if egg is fertilised it will attach itself to the lining of the womb but if not, the progesterone levels drop causing the womb lining to shed & bleeding begins
    - energy levels drop
    - progesterone levels (chill hormone) rise
    - PMS levels rise
    - prioritise rest & self care
    - from high intensity workout to relaxed walks in nature
    - stay away from salty / sugary foods, alcohol & caffeine
    - serotonin (happy hormone) producing foods like quinoa, buckwheat, nuts, fish are good.
    - magnesium rich foods fight fatigue & libido this phase brings

    I came off of hormonal birth control after years of taking it about a year ago and I am still struggling to get back my period and am experiencing so many hormonal shifts and mood swings I really wish doctors would stop recommending the pill to young girls without any warnings

    A normal menstrual cycle is a blessing, and I'm always sad when I see women willingly throwing it away. I have PCOS and my periods don't come every month. Left alone, I reached a point where I had no. Period in 6 months. Then I reached a point where I had a period that lasted 2 months. I cried in my bed, going crazy because of the itchiness of wearing pads for 2 months straight. My doctor couldn't provide a clear solution for my PCOS. I want to have kids one day, but I don't even know if I'll be able to...
    So seeing someone throw out a regular, healthy cycle saddens me.

      Women with PCOS have irregular periods and might not have periods for many months before having a period. We develop unwanted body hair that's not common in women who don't have PCOS. We also can suffer from acne or receeding of the hairline, being overweight and develop insuline resistance. It's a stubborn condition and as I said even my doctor didn't provide a cure, so I don't think there is any
      She only advices to make my lifestly healthier.

I’m excited to see the video about birth control in the future - my husband and I have always used the sympto-thermal method, and it has worked wonderfully for us. I would never, ever, ever consider going on hormonal birth control. I think you explained some of the issues with it in this video extremely well. Glad I stumbled upon your channel!

    Wow! I am so glad and grateful that I found your channel! You are such a blessing! I really feel like it was divine guidance which lead me to your channel. There are so many things I have to change in my life. Which really spoke to me was the point about accepting and embracing boredom. I need stimulation all the time. I can’t wait for the bus without listening to music or wash the dishes without listening to a podcast. Ive come to realize that all this stimulation is too much and that I need to change my life in general for the better. I spend way too much time in front of a screen.     As someone who was brought up with this knowledge, I find it absolutely wonderful that you are sharing this information with other women. We are often told in these times that mothers or feminine role models are not necessarily, but they are. Especially for girls. Today, homosexual or trans men think they can take our roles from us and nurture young ladies in the same way. But they have no idea what the female experience really is. Some women have never had the loving advice of a (godly, educated) mother and do not know what they are missing out on. I pray that everyone can experience this!

    I have been cycle syncing for a few months now after reading a book called In the Flo by Alisa Vitti. However, she says our cycle begins in the Follicular Phase which is our Spring season. Each phase is represented by a certain season and it does so accordingly. Since Spring represents rebirth and renewal it only makes sense that the Follicular Phase is the first phase. She then talks about eating and exercising for your cycle and created a planner that is designed for your cycle. A question I have is about fasting because she said the Follicular and Ovulatory Phase is the safest time to do that without harming your body. So I am thinking of other ways to fast outside of food if I am in my Luteal or Menstrual Phase during Great Lent.

    Thank you for that video! I've had a severe panic disorder about 8 years ago, and one of the things that helped me heal was cutting off any distraction - music, tv playing on a background. I was doing everything in silence, and I couldn't even play music while I do home work or walk somwhere cause it would give me anxiety. My husband was very confused everytime I asked him to turn a music or a radio off when we were doing some home renovations or another work together 😄 but it helped me to keep a clear mind and process everything, and heal. Then I started listening to Psalms while I work, which can also relief anxiety very well.

    Hello, Jasmyne, I am 14 year old girl who is trying to get in tune with my femininity, however I live in a very toxic household. The women around me have internalized the idiology of a "strong black woman" they are really loud, agressive and abusive (mentally, physically and emotionally). I do not desire to be like this, however I find myself travelling down the same path. Most people begin with John which talks about the good news of Jesus Christ and the ultimate sacrifice He made so that those who believe in Him will have everlasting life.       I find the book of Psalms comforting, despite not being Christian. You can always choose to be who you are. You were given free will by God, right? It's going to take self-discipline to change. I would suggest daily journaling especially when you're angry. I write letters addressed "Dear God", Dear world, To the person I am angry with etc. It helps me get those emotions out even if I can't express those to others. Once it's on paper, you can re-read later and start seeing what triggers you emotionally then think of or look-up ways to react differently. Sometimes not reacting is the best reaction too.

      Keep watching as many videos like this one as you can. Please try some meditation videos they are calming and grounding. Pray daily. Just talk to God like a friend ask him to guide you. Small steps every day. Try and mix with positive gentle people as much as possible. I am praying for you ❤

    I loved this video. I often struggle with settling in silence. Not because I don’t like boredom, but I feel like if I’m not doing something then I’m being lazy. I prefer noise over nothing, and last year it really stifled my ability to socialize because when I felt I had nothing to say I would just listen to music and shut myself off to those around me which made me sad. I loved my community, but I didn’t like being left to find the words on my own. It was easier to stifle the world around me and place my own noise to replace it. I’ll be starting school again soon and I know, after a rough last semester, that taking time to settle is vital to surviving in my difficult studies. I find fighting my boredom makes me more tired and makes the things I enjoy seem lack luster, like reading my Bible or doing any of my hobbies. I really want to learn to enjoy the silence and be able to be at peace with silence when I move on campus again. I want to leave space for me to enjoy the presence of God and being in the moment. Starting tonight I’m going to take the settling down function I placed on my iPhone more seriously and take time to really take care of myself and enjoy the peace of silence.

There were a few times I had to soak the wax on my skin in water to loosen it up because I was too squeamish to pull it off in time 🫠 not fun

    Looking forward to the video regarding hormonal birth control! I've been on birth control for 5 years as well, the Mirena IUD and Qlaira interchangeably because I menstruate for 12-13 days which is very difficult to recover from. I have adjusted my diet so much to see how my body responds because I truly want a long-term strategy on my menstruation and I cannot have birth control as the long-term strategy. For now, it allows me to live a normal life, it allows me to be present and live in the present, but I feel like a debt is accumulating and somehow some day my body will pay for it. All the other things you've suggested like insecticides in cotton in our pads and pantyliners have broadened the field of things I can change and gives me more agency over something the doctors (as you've said) will say we should just 'shut down'. It gives me relief that there is more to change and adjust to keep my body on a restoration process without industries and industrialisation polluting my body and that I can steer clear of it EVEN MORE. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!

    I love this video, you are the sweetest person, praise the Lord for your boldness and gentless in sharing this video! I wanted to say one thing, the brand of tampons that you held up, I was using that for a couple of years and they recently changed their formula, they now add Titanium Dioxide to their pads/tampons and my cramps subsided immensely when I stopped using their new products. I started buying a brand called 'Organyx" because they don't add any titanium dioxide, dies, wood pulp or plastic to the lining of their pads. They also work better than the L. brand. Anyway, I love your video, so informative!!

    I'm glad you've talked about this and spreaded the information. I’ve met girls who don’t even know what a period is or why they have it. This is horrifying given the access to information we have today with the internet and so many shows on tv and even classes at school meant to educate us on our bodies and endocrine system. And, after reading the comment section, I am shocked how many women don’t know these things and live in complete oblivion. I’ve known all of these things you mentioned except for dry wash and remineralized filtered water. Although I’ve been thinking about it for years. I do filter water but I realize it's devoid of nutrients. And I know showers and shower gels and soaps dry our skin and contain toxic ingredients. I use the so called "grey soap" sometimes (that's what it's called in my country. I dont know the english name for it) and soaps containing olive oil, honey and such. Same for my hair. I use black radish shampoo. The commercial shampoos sold at drugstores dry my scalp and led to dry dandruff.
    I won't even start on the birth control tangent. Every woman i know that uses it now suffers from hashimoto.
    This is valuable information over here.

    Thank you for being one of the few channels on youtube for a christian woman following traditional biblical femininity. I love dry brushing and gua sha face and lymph nodes massage, and learning to gently lean into the natural cycles of womanhood has been so liberating. Not sure about US (I'm from Italy) but I've enjoyed using menstrual cups for a few years and its been life changing; much more comfort and it helps to get in touch with the natural process of menstruating, learning to understand your body.

    Thank you for this! I was taught the "mechanics" of our menstrual cycle in school, but no one ever went into any kind of detail as to what to expect emotionally or how my energy levels would fluctuate. I had pretty consistent energy levels as a teenager, and didn't really start to feel those effects (or just didn't notice them), until I got older. At first, I thought I was just being "lazy" or "undisciplined" when I couldn't get the energy to keep my life going at the same speed week to week. Felt really guilty for not being as consistent as a man would be. This kind of video really helps me to understand myself better and to let go of unrealistic expectations for myself.
    Taking supplemental iron was a real game changer for me too. It's crazy how good you can feel when your body finally gets what it needs to function properly!

    When I tell you I cannot work out bc my period is debilitating for one or two maybe three days- I can’t work out and that genuinely upsets me bc I like walking… A lot. I can be out walking for most of the day. So it kills me.
    I got adhd too which is also debilitating and can make me throw whole tantrums (which I’m not proud of..) just bc I’m not getting a dopamine boost and something to stimulate my brain. (People with adhd have shorter dopamine receptors so it’s harder for us to feel that joy we would have just doing simple things like singing in the shower… It would take so much more for us. Which could also be why all of us have hyperfixations and that special thing that they LOVE… Bc it gives them that boost.) So making simple tasks like paying attention to this is also super hard. I know it would be worth it for my health in the long run including my adhd if I’d got into it more. Im so happy you brought this to my attention!

    This is such a wonderful video 🌼 You have shared so many of the things I have learnt over the last few years, but no other woman I know seems particularly interested in (plus I have learnt some new things, too!) I am looking forward to your video about hormonal birth control, as I personally believe it has done far more harm than good to women. So many women visit the doctor with medical issues, but rather than the professional delving into the root of the issue/encouraging the woman to try out some diet or lifestyle changes, they prescribe hormonal birth control. To me, it's just like putting a plaster over the problem. At least that's what happens here in the UK. There is also something beautiful and grounding in truly embracing our cycle, as it's such a big part of what makes us "us". Thank you for such a well thought out and informative video.

    You earned yourself a new subscriber based on not just your Christianity but also your stance on birth control. Informed consent is not really a thing anymore because of how much birth control is pushed on women. Without even asking if I wanted to go on birth control I was handed a cup to pee in before my 6-week postpartum visit so that they can get me on contraception. This has happened with all three of my children. I wish I would have had completely informed consent with not just the birth control pills, nuva ring, but especially the IUD. I experienced so much trauma that I am surprised I haven't pursued legal action for medical malpractice.
    Before my husband got the snip back in February we practiced fertility awareness method and condoms. It even got to a point where he knew when I was going to have my menses. I am just about to be 3 months postpartum with our third and I haven't gotten my period back yet, but I'm looking forward to tracking that again just for sanity sake.
    Since coming off birth control I know myself better, I am more at peace with God, and I am the wife and mother that He designed me to be. I actually look forward to my periods, I know when I desperately need a period because of how I will feel.

    Thanks for the video. My first 2 days of my cycle, I rest. I don’t force myself to work out. I used to live in Asia. The Chinese ladies talked about how they don’t take in anything “cold” during their cycle. No cold water, no ice cream, etc. Only warm liquids and foods. And having a warm pouch on your abdomen is good, not allowing the abdomen to become cold.

    Tips on tracking our menstrual cycle were my favorite. Particularly recommendations on what to eat during each period. I'll be watching this again soon to really absorb the content.
    I especially loved the part about how unhealthy sanitary pads can be. Not sure if I'd be able to find organic alternatives in my country but I'll try. Also, drinking mineralized and filtered water will be one of my goals from now on.

    Just stumbled upon your channel and immediately subscribed. This is what I was looking for. I am a 18 year old student who recently moved out and ofcourse I need motivation to achieve personal and professional goals but ALL the content around it is so masculinized that it's almost sickening. I feel like a robot when I try to follow them. I like your philosophy of moving with the flow and listening to your body and mind. I will start tracking my menstrual cycle after 6 months because I recently decreased by body fat percentage so much that I went into amenorrhea 😔. I was so blinded by the fitness coaches online that I tried to decrease by body fat percentage to 14%(now I feel like laughing and crying at the same time). It's been a month I increases by body fat percentage back to 18 through intaking healthy fats, proteins and some carbs and now I got periods twice within November. I'm very troubled. I hope this issue gets fixed within 6 months and then I can start tracking my cycle.

    🙈 I get the information you’re always sharing but I can’t ignore your vocabulary, mann it is so rich that now I solely watch you to improve my vocabulary. May you please share your own tips and tricks of vocabulary improvement outside of just reading books.
