  • Inside Xbox's smallest and most efficient console yet. After inadvertently bricking his own Series S after a borked experiment (nothing to do with the system itself, we should add, which worked great!) Rich strips down the console to see what makes it tick, exposes the Series S processor and compares it against Series X, Xbox One S and even PS4 slim...

It’s a huge upgrade in so many ways if you’re playing on a 1080p display. If you have a higher res screen than that, the series x is by far the better choice.

I have both, and the S is definitely an amazing console. I am at the hospital right now with my daughter, we’ve been here for about a week, and when she’s asleep I am able to hook up my S and play a bit, such an easy console to just throw in my bag. Also been using Xcloud on my phone, that’s amazing too.

great video as usual and neat to see the internals.. it's a shame on repairability in general.. but I guess that heat shield shouldn't need to be removed anyway. great build. the One X was similar in how it was put together. I took mine apart and replaced the thermal paste. Microsoft does a great job engineering these consoles.

@@jamesw884 even without the clip on mobile screen, a cheap 17 or 19” monitor would look fantastic. That said, I’m not even sure they make modern monitors that size with specs that would satisfy someone looking to really utilize a Series S, but still. I used a small 19” TV for my PS4 for a long time and it looked SHOCKINGLY good for being an older TV.

TBH I'm a PlayStation guy but have not been able to get my hands on a PS5. So on a whim I bought a Series S (readily available). Have to say for £249 this is a great second console. I already had PC game pass so just swapped over to XBOX ultimate (which includes PC game Pass too) for a few extra quid a month. Barely played my PS4 Pro since.. I not leaving PS anytime soon but the Series S has opened the door to XBOX exclusives at 1080P like Halo infinite and.... and.... I'm sure there will be more now Microsoft bought Bethesda. LOL. In all seriousness, I highly recommend this console it's a great value with Game Pass.

@@Mr_Waffle. I have migrated from PS4 to PS5 and in this COVID-19 problematic times Sony give us a glimpse into future of gaming, we can see fantastic ray tracing solutions and it is just beginning and I think that same will be for Xbox but Sony really done a good job for players... maybe you won't play Demon Souls but when I play it it looks so good like it has no flaws, like it's best game but then Ratchet and Clank is giving even more so every new game has better ray tracing optimization. I couldn't imagine Hellblade not having ray tracing with 60fps because every PS5 has it...I grow up with Sony and there is no reason for changing amazing experience.
