This is just the most wholesome fishing video ever. Your boy is so sweet, his little ‘you ok?’ When you said the flatty flicked you in the face warmed my heart. And I love his idea to measure the fish with the end of the mat still rolled up 😂
LOVE at about 17:20 - you gave him the choice and didn't force your fishing buddy to stay out but 'strongly encouraged' :D Nothing better then hanging out with your young fella. And you have that magic touch keeping the interest. must come from being a teacher mate. Love his excitement!

Hey I love Tallebudgera we go there every Christmas holidays and I caught one of the biggest mullet, he was about 30-40cm and we caught a big buck mud crab with him
I really love watching the videos where you have Tommy on board. Seeing how he is growing up and loving his fishing. Very proud dad moments when they put a plan into place and achieve it.
It's my favourite river and the kids love it, can't wait for them to finish the hwy upgrades and open some more boat ramps parking can be fun on the eastern ramps.

Tommy, what a little gun fisho! Had to have a laugh at the start when you did the introduction, little fella was hanging onto the Transom and that boat wasn’t going anywhere without him. That and when he saw the Poddys in the cast net, priceless memories for you! What an education his had from yourself John, great to see and personally I think Fishing should be a School Sport with one of the Alloy Boat Manufacturers getting onboard, from doing similar to yourself with my daughters, and Snorkeling so they got the view of where fish gather and also if they spotted a Greenback Turtle hiding in the rocks, whoever saw it first, I had to dive down and grab it, and they got to hang onto the Turtle and go for a ride! Still talked about today as now they are young adults with careers, one still loves going fishing with Dad,
Mate that’s magic! So good to hear about those memories and how they stick forever. So much of these videos is about that with my kids enjoying the time too. After nearly 15 years teaching, my boss has pulled me aside to run a fishing adventure class next year for kids. Could be a tonne of fun I reckon ;)
@@mylurebox what an absolute privilege for your Boss to give you the opportunity to Teach the very thing you’ve learnt from a young age and be able to pass that on, like you do with Tommy and all your TH-cam followers, from which I’m still working on skip casting with a Baitcaster into those mangroves and rock walls after Jacks, even took the trebles off just to get the rhythm of doing it repeatedly. Who knows where this new adventure may take you, hopefully it has the Purple Cow affect and hurry’s slowly whilst moving forward. Go for it mate!

I loved it at that age my kids love it BUT...hows Tele Tommy with that confidence omg it would take alot of stress away knowing he's alloverit & stayin in the boat when ur backs turned..grown up & owning it too nice Teach👍🏼 ur a special human Johnny loveyawork. I heard a story from a mate about 6 months ago where they all fell out of the boat and only left one bloke in it as it drifted along the tweed walls and it put the wind up me to make sure everyone who jumps on board learns what to do to get her started and putting along. 👍
Gday mate , i just put a Minn Kota electric motor on my Quintrex 430 top ender(55lb 54 inch shaft ) what a game changer these motors are , i got the "i-pilot" model great video mate !
Maybe I was a bit hasty, when I rated myself as a real beginner. I just landed a 94cm Flattie on a Woppa Paddle Tail on my local river system. On 8lb!! I can see why these big Flathead are considered so highly. Didn’t it give me some. Wow!! Guy in Tackle store said most people tighten their drag and get busted off, well done, you used yr drag. Certainly did, lots of line taken and retrieved.
Great vid John , Tommy is all over that outboard !! Have you got a new electric or just switched to foot control ? If so , do you prefer it over the remote ?
