Mate that little demo on the tide was absolute gold! Great visual of the tide and effect of water surface. Drone footage was epic as well. Great sesh yew 🤙🤙🤙
Little tip you probably already know, when they spike you, turn them on their backs and wipe the slime off their belly on the cut/spike, stops the bleeding and that constant itchy sting you get! That or bit of Bracken Furn crushed up with a bit of spit, works on every insect bite also! Favourite table fish, Rays Bream or fresh King George Whiting! Great stuff as always John! Good thing about Flatties, the whole family can enjoy the outdoors while having fun casting on a few Flatties!
Excellent video as always John! Full of awesome tips which are extremely helpful. I only fish landbased but watching your videos have me given numerous tips which helps me improve my fishing. Pls. keep em coming 💯🔥
Cracking work as per usual mate. I loved the little demonstration you did on tidal effects as a visual representation of how pressure edges work. And your spot on, any of the darker colours that have a nice colour contrast and cast a strong silhouette work a treat on flatties. Its also great seeing so many healthy table sized fish this early on in the season Tight lines mate
Great video again, John! Love the information and knowledge you willing give every time. My favourite pan fish are Whiting and Squire. I need to get out and get among them.
Great Video John and yes "flathead " are my favorite estuary fish to eat i have tried "coral trout " great fish to eat when we can buy them down this way (Newcastle) cheers mate , Johno .
What a great bite and awesome session Johnny. Flathead has to be the best all round table fish in the estuaries. Thanks for such a great vid. Makes me miss Qld. Moved recently to central west NSW. Which is trout heaven… miss my flattie fishing though. 👍👍👍
@@mylurebox the trout season has been off the chain this year. Just closed in the rivers on Monday. Still have some quality Local dam options though. Anytime you’re down this way mate…. Oberon area. I’ll hook you up.
Great vid. But as a total beginner, I always wonder what location U R in. Like, is that the mouth of a river? Off the shore line somewhere or upriver a bit. I think it would help if I knew at least the sort of location even if not the exact one.( I have heard fishies are a bit secretive about their spots 😊)
Great Show John, Always look forward to your uploads. Question If I may, Do you have any braid recommendations ? I find i always wind knot with the Kairiki braid maybe its just me..
He's got a Quintrex 370 explorer I think. There are a few videos on it from the time he was travelling around Australia, like the one where he explains his car topper setup. He's also done a bit of modification to it to turn it into a bass boat layout as you can see.
I mainly fish catch and release but you really can't beat the flathead for an estuary combo - they put up an alright fight every now and then, are easily fooled and are pretty abundant plus have some of the best flesh around, maybe beaten by luderick. great to see the nsw government realising their importance and stocking them in a few places now
To the young frothers schooling for big dog knowledge - Lure color is not a thing the trick is to get it in their face!...the best color/lure is always the one you have tied on when you got a bite.

Cheers mate! Hope that Cod fishing adventure of yours comes together in a BIG way ! 🐠

Cheers Brett ;) I run PowerPro Slick 8 braid and love it. I’ve also used suffix 832 in the lighter braids and that goes well.
Where did you get those lures from because I have the weed less hooks and that was a great video thank you for sharing
i just got my pb flathead today at 50cm might sound small but i am stoked and it tasted amazing
That’s awesome mate 😎
Congratulations. 50cm is better than 49..or 39..
Great video as always John, can you tell me what scent you put in your stink finger please.
Great video champion, awesome work,
I don’t eat much fish, but the family love flatties and gummy shark. I always get the green light to go fishing if I’m targeting either one 😂
Hahaaa. That’s gotta be part of the reason my missus is happy when I’m chasing flatties ;)
When eating Flathead for dinner I tell the kids this is as good as it gets! Hahaha
Yep, love flathead to eat. So great to fish too.
Awesome stuff, I’m off to the tackle shop to buy some of those lures, hard to beat eating flathead but Also live fresh tailor I love the skin
Can you please tell me what the beads are, thanks.
Thanks for the tips very helpful
Great video... I'm a master baiter... Really want to get into lures. 😂
What kind of boat is this that you have??!’

what knot do you use for the bite leader?
Hey mate, what knot do you use to tie the 6lb leader to the 20lb bite leader?

40-45cm Sweetlip in garlic and parsley breadcrumbs 👌

Flatty all day at 55-60cm crumbed or pan fried with garlic and sage butter.

Flathead easily between 45-55cm is the best ya can get 👌🏼
So yummy Brett ;) cheers
50 cm flathead from off the beach. Next is Red Emperor.
There’s a reason fillets go for $60 /kg, your in-laws will have a word or two to say 😂
should of knocked him on the head for the pan.Would of maybe saved the pain.😁
Definitely regretted that one Darryl… still feeling it hahaa.
What's the purpose of the bead in the hook?
