Ryan Reta humans can mash out if they are prepared, you can only get away with it if you are near a ledge and aren’t expecting it

Thank you, looking to do the same run to beat the record on US-N64 sometime in December. This is currently the fastest run on this version of the game and 2nd fastest on any version

I believe someone else that’s better submitted for SGDQ but I don’t have any plans to submit or travel for events.

No offense taken. I can't speak for all speedrunners but I have irregular and obsessive interests, thoughts and behaviors. I wore a ghillie suit for a while when I was streaming to match my username and as a treat to some of my older viewers who saw me do this when I first started speedrunning in 2012. I view speedrunning much like any performance art and this was an idea I had to entertain others. I hope you enjoyed the video

Why do speed runners always have the Japanese version of the game? Great speed run though
Actually speedrunners typically use the US version of this game, Japanese is more rare and less run. Check out speedrun.com/ssb64 for the leaderboards

How come he completed the target smash and not board the platforms? Wouldn't have just been faster to just die instead of breaking all the targets?
Dalgus Maximus the requirement to unlock Luigi is to complete all 8 original characters’ target tests so I complete one of the during the run and do the other 7 later to unlock Luigi

+K & R Studios he is by far the fastest choice due to the high consistency at which he can complete the 1p mode. He is also my favorite character in the game but I choose him in this speedrun because he is so fast.
