16:57 Why is it so goddamn funny to see the bot go from sloppily drawing the number 18 to spelling the word ELEVEN with stylus accuracy no human possesses
Then write out a more complicated version of the question
is the bot was a real human then his handwriting would probably have its own font

wait I'm wondering whether that integration is correct... just trying to figure it out...
Brandon Harris
TAS is a tool to play a game perfectly frame by frame.
Specifically, "Tool-assisted Speedrun" aka TAS
A TAS is someone playing the game on an emulator with save states and telling it which commands to press on each frame, allowing it to make theoretically perfect gameplay or fun stuff like this, which would be impossible for a human playing in real time.
17:12 the fact that that integral actually equals 8 is absolutely amazing.
It's actually just the integral of 1/2 due to a certain trig identity 🙃
@@64MilestotheGallon can u elaborate?
@@smoothbrained4channer976 no
@@smoothbrained4channer976 cos (2y) = (cosy)^2 - (siny)^2. Using 2y= pi*x and using (cosx)^2=1-(sinx)^2, we have cos(pi*x)=2(cos(pi*x/2))^2-1. Rearranging, 1 = 2(cos(pi*x/2))^2 - cos(pi*x). Halving gets you the result shown.
If you perform the integral, the 1/2pi sin(pi x) and its negative cancel, leaving 1/2 x.

pattern recognition is a fucking curse 😭😭
In case anyone was wondering, the integral at 17:12 actually does come out to exactly 8. I'm amazed they took the time to answer correctly and still somehow make the game read it as an 8...
I know that this was made 5 years ago, but they use tools to automatically give the right answer
@@GamerGlitcher09I know this reply is from a month ago, but they don't. I'm pretty sure they just erase it and write the correct answer really fast. Either that or they figured out how to make it closer to the correct answer than any other number.
Can confirm: the 12-4 integral problem does equal 8.
Isn't that function a constant?
@@sanscipher9166 yes, it returns 0.5 everytime, and it makes sense when you look at it
@@sanscipher9166 hes saying usingthe bounds of the integral result in 12-4 which is 8
@@sanscipher9166 Yeah, you rewrite the squared cos so that it's 1/2(1+ cos(pix)), after that you clear it out with the other 1/2 cos(pix), and you're left with 1/2 the integral of just dx
I was wondering if there was anything you could do to the result by tweaking the boundaries of the definite integral. I could get a bunch of different numbers randomly, but I’m curious if any correlation could present itself.
They rickrolled us with the rythm playing in the background. holy shit

EDIT:
oh wait
oh
OOOOOOOOOH BOY
Didn't even notice. Listened to it at full volume and i heard every note in my head
I wonder how they were able to confuse the game into parsing the drawings as numbers...
"The fuck? This isn't a number, that's- no, wait, I see a 7 here, nevermind."
The game is not programmed too well, no need for a bot or anything, just regularly you could write some crap and it might see it as a number. They just abused that to do this :P
yea but how did they predict what number the game is gonna think it is?
The only thing I could imagine they did was they kept trying slight variations until the number they wanted showed up.
Im pretty sure the bot instantly erases the picture and puts an answer without it showing on the screen using bot magic. for ex during the rickroll it makes sounds without drawing on the screen.
Clarke's third law, TAS corollary:
Any sufficiently advanced maneuver is indistinguishable from bot magic.

Copied my own comment from another brain age TAS video: The computer only knows what letters and numbers look like, so if you give it something that isn't a number or letter, it just goes "okay, it's shaped a little bit more like a 9 than anything else I know" and concludes that you drew 9. The TAS can rewind the game (using an emulator) and redraw pictures until it gets one that looks like the right number.
Okay, that was my suspicion but I had to check comments if anyone actually knew.
so they just make enough art that it can try a few different ones through the emulator? or do they know the exact same questions will be asked everytime?
The Twitch chat part was predetermined, not a live feed.
The reason why they started by setting the DS time and waiting at the floating head and stuff is to make sure the sequence of questions was the same every time.
ohhh not as impressive then lmao
@@aidancanoli The Twitch chat feed was actually pulled from Twitch chat live. They broke the number-detection algorithm so thoroughly that they could actually draw numbers without any visible input (you can see this earlier, where they get an answer right without anything visibly drawn at all)

NO NO NO IVE BEEN RICKROLLED BY A ROBOT WHAT TEH FUC
Does the game register these all as correct answers based on their shapes? Or is there something go on behind the scenes?
The game does recognise the shapes as the correct answer, even though they don't seem to look anything like the actual numbers. Somewhere within the drawing, something that is interpreted as the answer is hidden, and that part is drawn last. Sometimes it's the entire picture, sometimes I think it's just a tiny part.
Most notable is the Mario Kart section where the time is edited last.
It may have to do with the last strokes, but it doesn't really matter how it analyzes it. They just have to make a picture, feed it into the program, see what number it interprets that picture (or that set of stylus motions) as, and then assign that image that number. Then whenever the game asks a question whose correct answer is that number, they can draw that picture and it will work.
it counts the movement of the last stroke
