Thank you, very informative. It seems to me that most theories describe part of the process apart from transformational grammar which doesn’t seem to have any practical benefit. Krashen says you can learn to speak just by listening. But you can understand speech without understanding all of the grammar e.g. cases. You need to notice the case endings, and then figure them out.
