Great recommendations, totally agree on the Studio Display perspective. The Dell U3223QE is also an amazing option, that's still plastic, wobbly and lacking good speakers, but the panel itself is wonderfully calibrated from the factory and more than a few creator friends have went for those after seeing them in person at the office. It doesn't fill the void left by getting rid of the Studio displays, but the value proposition is certainly there.
You are going to wait a long time, to see any BenQ or other brand not building in plastic. The alu chassis only raises the price for no reason, other than design. A plastic monitor will last just as long. As for speakers, you won't find great speakers in monitors for photography, color grading or design. It's pointless.
Graphic Designer here 👋 that after 10 years switched from an older iMac Studio to some Asus-Tuf Gaming garbage screen then tried a BenQ. Conclusion: Even as a starving artist, I'm investing in my own iMac again lol. Nothing beats the brightness, saturation, and sharpness of a glass screen iMac 5k. Plus if you're staring at a screen for 9+ hrs a day, your eyes will thank you for the True Tone ambient lighting. My runner-up is BenQ, but it's quality control and fragile screens make me weary. There's also a scaling issue you'll come across with non-macs products that's annoying. Coming from a Graphic Designer stance, it's iMac or nothing still. My only complaint is that I wish there was a larger 32" option that wouldn't cost me $5.5k+...Pro Display XDR you're beautiful, but No.
Why don't you name the model of the monitor you're talking about in the video? You only mention the Brand name and I know you have the link in the description but it's annoying.
I've spent around 12 hours this past week watching monitor reviews, starting with LG ULTRAGEARs and OLEDS, and I'm struggling to make a decision. The issue I face is that I'm a photographer who also enjoys gaming quite a bit on the side. While I'm aware that BenQ monitors have been the go-to choice in the photography community for some time, I'm looking for a monitor that can provide me with both high refresh rate gaming at 120 FPS and exceptional color accuracy for editing and printing my photos. After extensive research, probably closer to 20 hours now, I've come across the ASUS ProArt Display PA32UCG-K 32 4K, primarily because it boasts HDMI 2.1 support. However, I'm concerned that this monitor might be outdated considering the current market and the available options. Would you recommend the ASUS ProArt Display PA32UCG-K 32 4K for my specific needs? Or something else!?
Yes, it would be a perfect option, but at the same time it's so expensive, but if you want one monitor for everything, I guess it would do a perfect job. You have two more ProArt monitors with 120hz and 144hz (PA278CGV and PA348CGV). Probably your budget is way more expensive, but if you only need sRGB, you can take a look on the new PA278CGV, would be the perfect 10 times cheaper option xd. Also, you can look into high-end gaming monitors like ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM. Important: take in mind that is OLED. After calibration, can be an excellent option to edit photos in sRGB and Adobe with 90%, high color accuracy and also when it comes to gaming it's exceptional. It would be also way more affordable, 1000 euros here in Europe.
The colors are warmer on my iPhone 15 vs my Studio display is cooler. I do have True Tone off on both. Any idea or fixes to make the Mac Studio Display warmer? Thank you!
Hi, I wanted to ask you; should the HDR option on the mac settings be kept disabled? And how do you recommend connecting your monitor to your Mac Mini? USB-C or HDMI?
I've used several monitors with macos during the last 3 years of wfh and imho any 32" 4k is not the way to go - 137 ppi it way too low for macos, you'll see blurry UI and fonts on any scaling other than 2x hidpi (200%, screen space = full hd). And 2x hidpi scaling is not usable on a 32" 4k cause the UI is way too big) In fact 27"-28" is the maximum display size suitable for 4k (uhd) resolution when using with mac (ppi 163). PS my choice is Huawei MateView with wonderful 3:2 ratio, highly recommend it!

I bought the 27 inch LG monitor in 2018 and I was planning on using it for another few years but during a move to a new place it got dropped on a sharp part of my keyboard and absolutely got destroyed. I honestly couldn't be happier with the UN880 though (LG with the awful naming mnemonics smh). It felt like a huge jump initially, but even just for studying this monitor does everything I want it to and more. I know this video was made for creators but I feel like for most people, getting a monitor from a few years ago and on sale is more than enough for most workflows. The combination of 4K + IPS + USB C for power/display is all I need and I don't see myself upgrading for another 5-6 years at the absolute minimum. Great video and shots as always, E. Fantastic comparisons all throughout and I enjoy that you actually show the ports and their orientation, not just reading off a list and putting up some stock footage.

@@ThisIsE Thanks! After watching your video, I started looking into newer options. A good "upgrade"/modernization to the LG would be the Dell U3223QE. Actually MacBooks don't support daisy chain, just Windows for some reason. Which is a shame because you can't use a single cable to connect multiple displays, they will just mirror.
Title: BEST Color Accurate Monitor Doesn't talk about color accuracy, doesn't talk about Delty-E, doesn't talk about kalibration (even though I think this should be illefgal to need and that they should produce them in the most accuate possible way they can and that they should stay that way) ... you can't get much furthur away from a "BEST Color Accurate Monitor" review.
I purchased an ASUS ProArt a little over two years ago, for matching large format printers. It has been the worst monitor I have ever owned. Paid 1600 for it. It has extreme ghosting which makes calibrating it impossible. it's extremely slow to power on. I would rather have a $400 monitor over this piece of crap. I'm looking to buy a new one as we speak and avoiding every asus pro art. I cannot belive a monitor at this price has had the issue and color inaccuracies. My 10 yrd old 10bit NEC still works great. (fyi I use a i1pro 2 to calibrate monitors and printers)
i got both the benq and the asus and the benq was super yellow and muddy, the asus was easily more accurate to my printer. I also have a LG monitor and it has severe problem where you can see things that were on the monitor 10 minutes ago, almost like being burnt in, i would never buy an lg again
Obviously, you did something wrong, if a $1000 design monitor is off colors. All these monitors would look very similar, if set up correctly. Did you even download and install the ICM color profile for the monitor?
Can you please do a review on this new computer monitor let mr know if you would I think this is an awesome dual monitor its call Mobile Pixels Geminos Dual 24" Stacked Computer
You're confusing advertised color gamut vs actual color accuracy of the monitors. The product stating that they're capable of reproducing 95% DCI-P3 DOES NOT mean it will display those colours ACCURATELY. The only way to know the accuracy of the displays is through calibrating them with a colorimeter tool, that scans colours at different luminance/brightness values to see how far off the target the monitor is displaying these colours. Even if you buy 2 of the exact same monitor, it will have differences in how they reproduce colour. Making a video about monitor colour accuracy without including even the basic delta E or colour deviation value makes this video moot. Overall, this video is blatantly a paid ad spot for the listed monitors, hence the Amazon links.
@@jo69123 I mean, you're suggesting that you know and the other guy was just looking for your reccomendation, no need to just "dunno bro, do you research"
every time I do display research I always end up like "yeah, it's the Studio display for me." Everything else has a compromise and doesn't feel like it'll last a decade, whereas I know the Studio Display will last into the next century
stopped watching when you started to complain about brightness. at the max nits of the Benq you need to take brightness down about 50% for serious photo editing and video grading. if not your environment is not suited. any calibration tool will complain about it as well.
What's wrong with display manufacturers still making matte finish and only 60hz for "creators"? Glare is a non-issue if you can position your monitor or desk slightly differently. You can't do anything to fix the bad colors and black levels from matte finishes. 60hz is beyond outdated and should only be found on cheap screens.
Higher refresh rate ruins picture quality and compromises in quality such as backlight bleed and poor uniformity . I think e-sports have corrupted people into think gaming specs is a must for everyone . I wish e-sports is banned altogether . Although I also wished for more glossy options .
@@chedinbuildsstudio5144 higher refresh doesn't itself ruin any quality, it's just that gaming monitors are sold with a "eh color is good enough" mentality. I don't want it for gaming, I just want a really fast and responsive input to output experience. Though absolutely, lack of gloss is a bigger issue. It shows how uninterested monitor manufacturers are in picture quality. They're fine delivering a bad experience to the uneducated customer who thinks glare is a problem while using a glossy phone screen everywhere they go.

i’m using the Samsung m8. I think it’s still the best 32in monitor new under $1000. The internal speakers are fine for my editing needs because my sister will fix the audio later on her MacBook for the final edit.
It’s a very good monitor but the speakers are abysmal
Same here! Having dual m8s
Your sister edits audio on the built-in MacBook speakers? You should get proper studio loudspeakers for sth like that.
I just got an Asus PA279CRV like the one in the video, which does indeed have built in speakers. Is my unit faulty, or sound from speakers is barely audible?
Hi, is it nice?, what's your personal review asides speakers
@@aia4961 I'm returning it, my unit has a very annoying PWM flicker. Tried it on 4 different PC's, same result. Asus should stick to motherboards.
oh no the gap clip method hurts to ee being used here
vs Eizo cs2740 ?
the puck is really cool but mini usb on an $1100 product is just inexcusable imo
Very useful info. But no comment about color. A display when used for photography or video muy meet some standards.
I wouldn't have placed them in the list if they didn't have good color representation
OK, I would like to know what that color representation is compared to the others. Is it possible?
The studio display screen is easy on the eyes.
True that
Actually MacBooks don't support daisy chain, just Windows for some reason. Which is a shame because you can't use a single cable to connect multiple displays, they will just mirror.
They support it
I have a 5k Mac book pro and it has ruined me forever... financially. now 1080p is unplayable imo
Title: BEST Color Accurate Monitor
Doesn't talk about color accuracy, doesn't talk about Delty-E, doesn't talk about kalibration (even though I think this should be illefgal to need and that they should produce them in the most accuate possible way they can and that they should stay that way) ... you can't get much furthur away from a "BEST Color Accurate Monitor" review.
I think the best benQ choice is SW321c idk why you didn't mention it :D
too dark. 250 nits is not enough for video and rec709
Awesome
Thanks
I like your videos very much. Because… why not? 😬
Hahah...thanks 🙂
i got both the benq and the asus and the benq was super yellow and muddy, the asus was easily more accurate to my printer.
Did you even download and install the ICM color profile for the monitor?
funny he didnt show the specs off ben-q
Can you please do a review on this new computer monitor let mr know if you would I think this is an awesome dual monitor its call
Mobile Pixels Geminos Dual 24" Stacked Computer
Overall, this video is blatantly a paid ad spot for the listed monitors, hence the Amazon links.
vague...vague review, title should be budget non pro monitors for color grading.
The Asus monitor mentioned here has the worst color calibration out of the box ever, not a good option for content creation
could you suggest a good option pls?
@@bachcomic do your research bro
@@jo69123 I mean, you're suggesting that you know and the other guy was just looking for your reccomendation, no need to just "dunno bro, do you research"
@@jo69123Part of doing research is asking questions.
@@jo69123 you just made your statement invalid
Also you're lookin pretty yoked @5:19 LOL
every time I do display research I always end up like "yeah, it's the Studio display for me." Everything else has a compromise and doesn't feel like it'll last a decade, whereas I know the Studio Display will last into the next century
stopped watching when you started to complain about brightness. at the max nits of the Benq you need to take brightness down about 50% for serious photo editing and video grading. if not your environment is not suited. any calibration tool will complain about it as well.
The calibration tool adjusts to the environment
Good vid, but you never committed. Nobody with any real interest in music listens to monitor speakers, they run the signal to a real hifi.
Dammit, I guess I'm not buying any of these lmaooo
Why?
