Very cool video. I am new to Stream Deck (4 days, lol) but I have already programmed many profiles for my various apps. And yes I agree, profiles are def the way to go over pages... much more useful in most cases
Excellent video as always. When connecting multiple different stream deck devices, do we need to be aware of USB buses? Can they all be hooked up to the same hub, or do we need to be mindful about spreading out the connections over different USB ports? Keep up the great work
How do you connect them all? Elgato says to connect only directly to computer (no usb hub). I don't have enough ports but I do have a hub if that can work. Please advise. Thanks!
Hey. Big Fan. Are the stream decks networkable? Example, lets say I've got 10 machines on the same network, with let's say something like individual sessions of vmix/obs running on each machine and I want to use stream deck/s to be able to control each machine from a single location/control room. Can a single stream deck control multiple machines? Cheers.
Very first thing I did with my stream deck was the home profile button previous page next page or loop buttons with that combination one stream deck XL can theoretically have unlimited buttons 280 per profile one stream deck and then technically unlimited profiles or 280 if you just have a profile (profile ) so losing three keys per page on every profile is not a big deal when you have up to 280 buttons per profile and 280 profiles to pick from and we're talking bare minimum if done correctly
Hi thinking about the pedal, as I am launching a video podcast which I will be running and hosting with a three camera setup. I was thinking I could use the pedal to switch my Atem mini camera sources, but wondered how long the usb cable run could be? Do you know if it would work with a usb extension cable? Thanks Pete
The standards for USB says a USB-2 or USB-3 cable can be 5 metres (15.5 feet). You can get powered cables that boost this distance to 30 metres (100 feet). If the cable is too long you risk signal degradation and dropouts. Search for something like 'powered usb extension cables' to find a product and/or seller.
I have a Mac with 2 USBC ports with 2 stream deck 2s and a pedal. It says you can’t use a hub, does anyone know how to use these at the same time without enough USBC computer ports?
I wish elgato & dream deck could actually be used for Android : there are plenty of things that can actually be used elsewhere with Android Logitech cameras but if they could actually do a background app for stream deck on Android where it can control the Android interface that would be cool.... Why a lot of Androids now have desktop PC level modes so it is in its own right A PC not just a tablet not just a cell phone but a full desktop computer
This has got to be the most extensive instructional vid i have seen to date, Easily understood, and easy to follow. Thank you for posting
You're welcome! Glad it was helpful :-)

Companion is amazing. I’m doing much of the church video and audio production with it

Great great walkthrough, thank you for this Alec!
Very helpful. Thank you!
Can you use StreanDeck+ roller buttons to scroll through your profiles?
Can the streamdeck+ dials be programmed to control Premier Pro Position and Scale?

Hello, I love it all. It is amazing. Brilliant
can you use 2 stream deck pedals on same computer?
Yes you can use 2 stream deck pedals on the same computer - I have two in my setup. 😊
how do you plug this all in? unless i plug directly into the mac, the stuff doesnt work. And even when i have official adapter it doesnt work.
I use the Caldigit Element hub: amzn.to/4hmKUR8
Can I use Loupdeck instead of StreamDeck +, to switch between profiles of XL-Streamdecks?

Can you get rid of the home button and just use it without pages and folders

Hello, Someday, I would have it. 👍

I have two stream decks, a foot pedal, also the Wave 3 mic… all connected to a powered usb hub, no problems at all!

You know you have too many stream decks when you use three buttons to display the time 😂 (even the seconds!? 🤣)
Nice channell but its a pitty you talk only about Mac. Lots of software for Mac has no representation in Windows.
Most of the principles apply no matter what OS you're using. He's just showing his specific use cases.
