Great video. If anyone bought a SD+ and the Wave Link Software is not unlocking try version history 1.9.2 it unlocked the software for me. Elgato is actively working to find out why the newer version of the software for the Wave Link is not unlocking.
Thank you Alec Johnson. I’m learning a great deal from you. Thanks for the Demo. It was extremely attentive to detail. The wave link cool to hear. What an attractive design. A must have addition to complimenting a studio for anyone new to Stream Deck. Thanks again. Much Joy and Abundance ✨☺️
On the button size and count. I suspect that choice of 2 rows of 4 was a very specific design and human factors decision. It creates not only 2 rows of 4 bottoms, But it also creates 4 columns of 4 controls each. Each column has 2 traditional buttons on top and a touch screen button and a clickable rotary at the bottom. This enables the logical ordering of functions on columns where a rotary encoder has a display and touch above it and two more display buttons over that. Not possible if the buttons an encoders don’t align. The spacing being dictated by the need for space between rotary encoders. Let’s see what people and plug-in makers do with it. For now I’m looking forward to using this plus deck, my first Elgato stream deck - when it arrives in a bit over a week.
Zooming shortcut is Option + CMD + 8 to toggle, and Option + CMD + - and Option + CMD + = to zoom out and in. You do need to enable a switch in accessibility. So there is no need to have a feature req. implemented by Elgato I think.
Just subscribed! I like the way you dig into the topic and brainstorm about possible use cases! Speaking of, have you been able to program the keyboard maestro mouse gestures with the dials?
22:55 for the wavelink audio inputs, how do you setup to connect to applications? All I see are the default options.. system, music, gaming. If anyone knows thanks!
I will likely purchase a deck+ someday. I really like my XL and I use my mk1 as part of my simulator rig. Regarding the number of buttons, I feel that it is a matter of aesthetics. The 4 rows of buttons align with the rotary encoders for a pleasing look. If Elgato built the deck+ with 10 buttons, it would either have an odd number of rotary encoders or they would have five encoders in a very cramped area, where folks with big fingers would have trouble adjusting the dials.
Hello Alec hello folks! I'm going to get My Rodecaster pro 2 soon, and as we know the RCP 2 has got SMART Pads, and Rode also keep upgrading RCP 2 continuously with great features as always, also RCP 2 does very good job for streaming as well, So I'm thinking that The RCP 2's SMART Pads can do what Stream Deck + does, I would like to ask that is't a smart move to buy Stream Deck + now? thanks
Do the larger buttons have more pixels than before or the same number of larger pixels? If the former, how does the software handle scaling of icons made for the button-only devices? If the latter, are the images noticeably lower resolution?
Yes I would love to have the button BIGGER when you have bad eyes, and they are not as sharp as when younger. The images and texts are too small to read, TO get around it and not use wordings for each button, I have to use bigger symbols, so we know what button we press. That means, it limits setting up each button and having to memorize all the symbols with no help from using text. That's what I think about each time I pressed a wrong button function using the two 15 buttons Stream Decks daily. ..or lean low and deep bumping my head against my monitor to take a closer look at the buttons. I am not too excited by the knobs and sliding screen.. what will be great is WIRELESS.. so I can use it from a distance lying in my bed, sofa or just some place further away that a USB wire can not go at length.
I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say you need to enter Mac Boot mode - it is not something I had to do. Perhaps you can elaborate on what you experienced. Also as a side note, this was not intended to be a full install video, but rather a hands on first look at the Stream Deck + when it was released.
please explain how to do the setup when ppl keep mentioning about with the new Stream Deck plus where Elgato has allowed access to Wavelink without buying the elgato mic or Wave XLR? stills says "please launch wavelink" despite already installed wave link plugin thru stream deck plus.
Fixed it by first downloading the wave link software directly from website. Not just plug-in for stream deck plus. Wave 1 software is okay even if you don't have an El Gato audio device.
is "monitor mix" the sound coming from monitor/headphones, what (budget-freindly with bg suppressor) mic do you recommend and whenever i get the streadeck + what mic do you recommend?
Stream Deck + for me... I love the Loupedeck hardware too, but the software is still letting it down and so I really can not recommend it at this point.
Sorry... if it the link for the Stream Deck + giveaway, that promotion has ended. Apologies for not removing the text from the description - I have done now. 🙏😊
Question: I am not a streamer, nor do I use the wave link software. I mainly want to automate things on my computer, and use something for Davinci and Affinity Photo. I'm torn between SD+ and LD live. Seems like you have alot of experience with these things... which do you think would work best for my application? (BTW I agree with all your criticisms of the SD+, though I think their design choice was based on not making their 15 key product obsolete).
I use the Streamdeck for everything on my PC - in combination with Autohotkey. Its amazing. I do not stream, but i ordered the new Streamdeck+ too. I think, I will use both of them. The loopdeck i used first, before SD only one week - but I sent it back because the software was not good.
There is an IOS/Android streamdeck app that you can use to familiarize yourself with the software. I don't have any experience with Loupdeck, but I think the Elgato PC software is great. I use my XL every day, and my mk1 stream deck for sim gaming. I will likely buy the deck+ at some point.
I have both. The SD is much better in terms of software. Automation is better with the SD XL though for both those applications. I use multiple SD’s and a Loupedeck. The dials are good on the SD but you should look at it as the second device and not the main one. The best device Elgato could have and maybe will release is a 32 key SD with 8 dials additionally. A little big , but fantastic.

Had this same issue thanks
Thank you!
Had it one day, sent it back. The knobs are super limited on what they can interact with. And those buttons. I thank you for your well done video.
This was the review I have been looking for thanks mate.
I received my Stream Deck+ last week, but I was waiting for your video to see what I can do with it 😂.

Looking forward to seeing your take on using the Stream Deck + with the Rodecaster Pro 2…
Hello, Thank You For Sharing and Tutorials. I am impressed. Someday, I would have it. 👍👊👏👏👏
Thanks for the great VIdeo Alec. Just wonder how you combine the "Wave Link" with your RodeCaster?

New stream deck is amazing
Great video thank you
very nice mouse pointer highlight, would you mind to tell me which program that you use? Thanks
The mouse pointer app I use is called Pro Mouse... here's a video I made about it: th-cam.com/video/USCVKafnLow/w-d-xo.html
Thank you. would be nice if this is available on Windows!
37:47 Watching the Elgato wave link software part. But in comparison to Voicemeeter Potato it seems Voicemeeter potato is more superior correct?
What Ipad stand was that again?
Why does discord always open multiples of itself in volume mixer?

what is the streamdeck/streamdeck + target audiance?

they should allow users to switch profiles depending on with app is active (like loupdeck)
This or the Loupedeck Live?
Stream Deck + for me... I love the Loupedeck hardware too, but the software is still letting it down and so I really can not recommend it at this point.
@@TakeOneTech Hi but do u foresee it becoming better? For the LD software?
link does not work!

@@franzlpeter7346 Interesting although it seems like the LD has more functionality? Any thoughts? Was about to drop the bomb on the LD
Everybody else said the knobs are terrible and loose.
Nah but there is not enough plugs for it and its kinda dissapointing but the rest is great havingca blast with the 10 pages plus folder funcion
