Looks like I'm the only one that enjoys it. Viet Nam was a part of the French world at one point--many of them studied architecture at French university and spoke French fluently, among the wealthy. As Viet Nam is getting more wealthy now, don't they have a right to make the buildings the way they want to? What's wrong with the Vietnamese accessing French design motiffs, given it was a part of their history? By this same mentality that people have in the comments here, should I go to the ancient buildings of Viet Nam, which had a lot of Chinese elements and say no, this is no good?
600k USD I heard, right? Ok, Vietnamese People must be very rich to live there. Anyway interesting to see this part of Hanoi 😊👍🏼🙏🇹🇭
It looks like "The Truman show", and probably the same surveillance🙈.
I love your videos from Bangkok. Useful if I want to relocate. Cheers👍.
This place is unbelievable, no wonder theres only about 10 years left of the planet
Please Vietnamese developers, build Viet style homes and keep your traditions and history.
Normally I would agree. However, a lot of Vietnamese study architecture in France. By learning from one of the leaders of the world, I would argue, Viet Nam makes buildings more beautiful than even a place like Japan, where the architecture is bleakly utilitarian and drab.
The Vietnamese also study Bordeaux wine making processes but have you tasted Dalat 'vang'? 😂
@@willhatfield6228 lol. It's like moonshine. Absolutely the worst wine I've tasted.
Yeah😂
French colony this area not everyone particularly americans and Europeans, as long the vietnamese love this no problem about that, and for sure asian country love this one.
We rode our bicycles along the coast (mostly) from Hanoi to the border with Cambodia in the south. Sadly, along the coast you see a LOT of similar developments that have been abandoned mid-project, although none at this scale. Hopefully the location near Hanoi will ensure that they are occupied and will thrive. I appreciate the electric vehicles and supportive infrastructure. But like many others here, this development seems sad and weird, and probably will until the streets are populated with residents living there at a Vietnam-level of busyness and energy. There are a lot of people in Vietnam, let's hope that these aspirational projects can house a lot more folks, with a sustainable and affordable level of prosperity.
Thanks Jeroen! Always good seeing you and Mirela.
That looks very Great and Nice like a European City. 🙏
Yea looks a bit like Italy very nice !! And Holland.
This canal looks nice. We should do something like tgis in Bangkok.
The one project looks like a prison block. Rows and rows of generic complexes. Kind of depressing actually.
Yes, very... Authoritarian countries want symmetry. Vietnam balance China geopolitically-and Vietnam is a lovely country to visit - but its not a transparent democratic society.
Well, there will be a Korea or Japan town next to it in the future, this is abt culture experience for locals!❤ Tourists are welcoming too!
Such a sad fake place. I would get depressed if I had to live there, maybe Asians love it but if you are from Europe this is pure sadness.
French colony this area not everyone particularly americans and Europeans, as long the vietnamese love this no problem about that, and for sure asian country love this one.
What is freedom?.your country can afford to follow the current development of Vietnam
Bạn là 1 người Phương Tây thượng đẳng???
Seems like someone didn’t even know much abt the world cuz there are lots of countries that built architectures similar to Europe and other continents. You probably didn’t even know French colonised Vietnam and built a lot in Da Lat, Ha Noi and Saigon! There is a French Town in China if you would like some recommendation. Not you trying to STOP someone built a Town inspire by European cultures and there are Europeans go to Chinatowns in Europe:)))))
Why wannabe European while Vietnamese culture is beautiful
French colony this area not everyone particularly americans and Europeans, as long the vietnamese love this no problem about that, and for sure asian country love this one.
Stop spaming same comment everywhere.@@jeddee3820
After more than 150 years of slavery in a colonized country, we cannot even create our own projects.
There are China Town in New York and other countries, and also Korea Town, French Town…! Also this is for local to experience different cultures and having fun. There will be a Japan or Korea Town next to it in the future so you don’t have to worry!
So beautiful town.....from 🇹🇭 😮🤗🙂👍
Most of the comment they dnt like this thing hahaha, this area not for eveyone particularly americans and uerope,so what?as long the vietnamese love this no problem and asian country love this for sure,.
The canal is quite different. Are the boats electric?
I think the gondola's are electric and on a rail. But not sure 🙂
Thanks for a nice video
Look so luxurious same Singapore
According to the prices you mentioned this will only be available for the rich Vietnamese😮💨
These are big houses. I think condos are better priced.
Yes, the houses are expensive. But the apartments in the main city are better priced.
Seems like the Vietnamese miss their former French colonisers
Not my friend. Some European-style areas are designed so that people who cannot afford to visit Europe will know what it is really like.
There will be a Korea or Japan town next to it in the future, this is abt culture experience for locals!❤ Tourists are welcoming too! But still there’s no one stop you from building a town to explore cultures right?! Isn’t New York and London has China and Korea Town? Why can’t other countries build it, esp when some locals can’t afford to travel abroad?
@@KpopUnniesUwU When locals can't afford to travel abroad? What of logic is that? No pride in your own culture?
Was being ruled by the French for 6 long decades not enough that you have to worship Western culture and build a replica of Paris?
Stop bringing Chinatown and Korea town
into it, because they are not the same as an artificial housing/city project.
Maybe look into the history of French war crimes in Indochina and see how the French were the first to use napalm in Vietnam well before the US invasion.
Maybe ask the older generation about it.
I had a Vietnamese colleague who was born in Hanoi, she curses her country and says she wishes the French were still in power. This is a colonial slave mindset and it happens when people see themselves as inferior subservients.
Nice video , good to see it one time but I really hope that Bangkok is not gonna copy this Europe style place, for me not my taste
I saw one of these style developments being constructed when I drove down the highway in Hanoi last year (maybe it was ocean park 4 or something, idk). But the scale of the development and the amount of construction gear (cranes/excavators etc) was absolutely mindblowing.
@@calky360 YES. Thank you. Good.👍💖💖
Such a sad feat - when a country glorifies other countries’ architecture and cultures as opposed to its own.
Seems like someone didn’t even know much abt the world cuz there are lots of countries that built architectures similar to Europe and other continents. You probably didn’t even know French colonised Vietnam and built a lot in Da Lat, Ha Noi and Saigon! There is a French Town in China if you would like some recommendation or Thailand with Europe project long ago? And it’s up to tourists if they want to visit cuz it’s now doing quite well for locals. Not you trying to STOP someone built a Town inspire by European cultures and there are Europeans go to Chinatowns in Europe:))))) There will be a Korea Town and Japan Town near it, this is not a whole city? This is a small town for culture experience, the whole Vietnam of course we have tradition buildings! I think you should travel more!
Very beautiful 😍😍😍 from thailand
How many days are you go to Hanoi,Vietnam Jeroen?
We stayed 4 days. Next up is the old town.
Người Việt Nam thích kiến trúc châu âu...
❤❤❤❤❤❤
🥰🥰❤️
Wait wait Jeroen. Pls don't Co. Pare anyplace to den haag. I haven't been there in 50 years but it is the besr
Haha, helemaal mee eens.
Awful, kitsch, super expensive, and soulless…all three projects. Why could Vietnam not call upon its own rich culture !!!
Maybe you don't know the history of the French invasion of Vietnam. But there is an old proverb: "Even from enemies, a person can learn wisdom."
We have no shame in learning culture and architecture from them.
This looks kinda like "fake European town themepark-like boom" in Thailand about 20 years ago with projects like Primo Posto in Khao Yai, Santorini in Hua Hin, and others that have failed miserably because of its tackiness and fake feel.
French colony this area not everyone particularly americans and Europeans, as long the vietnamese love this no problem about that, and for sure asian country love this one.
@@jeddee3820 I am Vietnamese. Personally, I also don't like real estate companies copying cultural architecture and bringing it back to Vietnam. But it is determined by the market. Vietnamese people prefer foreign elements over Vietnamese architecture. Especially French architecture.
@@nguyenhieu1687~ Dù. Xây dựng. kiến trúc. Của nước nào Đi nữa. Cũng không Sao. Không ảnh hưởng gì.👍

@@gianglai5412 Nó chỉ chứng tỏ 1 điều rằng ở VN chưa có ai đủ tầm, đủ dũng cảm để đưa giá trị văn hoá Việt vào các dự án BĐS và nâng tầm nó lên như Nhật Hàn đã làm đc thôi!
$600K usd, holy moly! Would love to know who is able to afford all of those. Looked like there was a lot of them also.
@@thanhthuyang9697 what are you talking about... I simply comment that they seem expensive.
Đất nước tôi sống tự do.
For showing off, where are the people, Sihanoukville Vietnam
Thanks Jeroen for the new Vlog, but 600 thousand dollars per unit in a socialist economy?🙏
This is why I was happy to go there and film. It shows a different side of the country.
So funny, guess which 2 countries have the fastest growing economies in the world in the past 20 years, yes, those are 2 socialist countries, where are the remaining 150 capitalist countries with the same starting point?

What is freedom?.your country can afford to follow the current development of Vietnam!?
Agree, NOT THEM GOING TO CHINATOWNS AND KOREA TOWNS IN EUROPE AND NOT LETTING ANYONE MAKE AN ITALY TOWN IN VIETNAM?!
looks dystopian as fuck. don't like it
Because the sky on the day this video was filmed was a bit overcast and not sunny
It was raining, the sky was gloomy, that's why it was so dark
its got nothing to do with the sky dummy@@vanphan9318
China, and Vietnam, commies seem to know how to make their countries moving so fast! I begin to question Capitalism! It seems that socialism without politicians! It works better 😂😂😂
We're not living in those times anymore. Did you not know about Đổi Mới? Viet Nam today is a mixed economy, neither full capitalism nor absolute socialism. Anyways, Vietnamese socialism is from Soviet Union, not China. Even today in 2024, much of the leadership in Hanoi studied in Moscow. Maoism is what the Cambodians had, literally no one wants it.
