Currently in Ocean Park across from Vin University. The place is fantastic but really empty during the daytime, it comes alive after 5PM when families are home from work and the kids are playing in the many playgrounds. Sadly the fresh water lake is off limits to swimming but the saltwater lake is open, but never used. Lots of amazing restaurants and coffee shops. Anything you are looking for is within a few blocks. Thanks for sharing your info on Ocean Park. Did the Venice canal boats in OP2 the other day. Pirate boat shows are at 8:30. Definitely come to Ocean Park after 5 PM.
You two are the rare westerners who discovered that new part of Hanoi . Most of the other foreigners still think that the capital city of Vietnam has only dirty , tiny , tumble-down houses and old French colonial buildings . Actually HN has a lot of nice districts like Câu Giây , Giang Vo , My Dinh , Nghia Do , Sukotra , etc...with huge modern shopping malls and residential complexes like Royal City ,Time City and many more . It's actually the same thing in HCMC as well .
Actually, there's been a ton of Thailand-related influencers doing videos on Ocean Park. Looks like a big campaign to sell the place. Gary Butler as well as others have done videos from there as well. They're probably trying to fill up the homes there. But if it's anything like Phu Quoc where they over build, then they are in for some challenges. There's a reason foreign tourists like visiting the Old Quarter in Hanoi. It has a charm to it due to it keeping with it's tradition, culture, old architecture, etc. If Western tourists wanted to see modern, they can stay home or go to Japan or Singapore. I guess the people they want to attract here would be more like digital nomads, but many were kicked out of Da Nang for overstaying their visit (basically making visa runs while working in the country and not paying taxes). I know you're big on NEW! SHINY! MODERN! but it depends on the type of people you want to attract - tourists come to see something different than where they live. That Techno area looks neat and has potential...but as mentioned, their English is bad. If you want to get into tech, you need people that speak English well.
@@datgal2u You are the kind of vk who left Vietnam long long time ago and have no idea how VN has changed since then . Those foreigners who are as ignorant as you always send a bad image of Vietnam to the world , showing only the dirty , dark side of Hanoi and other Vietnamese cities and keep under silence the new , modern image of those places . If they were fair they should show both sides of Vietnam , not only the slums , but the modern buildings as well . A house keeper like you , with the head in the oven and the hands in the toilet bowl all day long and never went back to your native country to witness the positive change of the land where you were born , should stop bad portraying your fatherland
Great video, eye opening actually. We see Ha Noi through its Old Quarter and French Quarter or West Lake nut this is definitely the real sign of Ha Noi’s growth and future.

We’re going to Vietnam next month and planning to be in Ha Noi for few days. Could you please tell me exactly where the ocean location? Thank you and love your video 😊.
Amazing to see this. reminds me of the older freshwater lake in central Hanoi. Except no beautiful old buildings.. Never thought I would want to visit Hanoi, but the more I see, the better I like it. Yes, corn has a few allergies and is one of the most indigestible foods around. Xx
Sorry its cold wet and rainy in Hanoi. Its beautiful weather down here in Nha Trang further south. Weather can be a bit suspect in the North; even Da Nang can be really off for weeks weather wise, especially in the rainy season.
You could go to visit the Empire Vinhome Ocean Park in Hưng Yên next to Hanoi or Nha Trang beach city, Phu Quoc Island, another time you back to HCMC you should go to Vinhome Grand Park. Vinhome is a brand name they build many modern urban area everywhere all around Vietnam.
Ho Chi Minh city also has a similar thing like the Ocean Parks. Actually there are about 3 areas like this one in HCM city. Ho Chi Minh city and Ha Noi both have the old part and new parts which have been built recently.
Being a Canadian I am always curious about the cost of living in the different places compared to the cost of living in Canada. Can you give me more information about this area. I am retired and living on a fixed income. Finding it hard to afford to living where I am. Thanks I love your videos! Keep up the great work!
I guess this video was filmed during Feb in which the weather was around 15°C, so i think it's still bearable. If you guys were there during Jan, it'd have been a lot colder which was around 7~8°C. I still remember that early rainy morning, my body literally shivering the entire time while running on my motorcycle. It was not cool.
Hey, What time of year were you there? (To gauge the temperature). Is there a way I can check the dates you made each video? Thanks, and thanks for the videos!

Looks like a great place but I wonder if, even in summer, if people actually come there? When touring China we came across a few developments similar to this alongside golf courses, etc and they were vacant of people. It was very eerie to have whole beautiful cities/complexes and no people to be found.
My girlfriend bought an apartment in this project here a year ago.The project here is still under construction and almost all the apartments or villas have been sold out, even sold right from the project's design. Currently, not many people have come to live. The reason is that they are still waiting for a number of surrounding projects to be completed such as hospitals, schools, kindergartens, ring roads, bridges and connecting roads that are about to be completed. In addition, apartments or villas for sale only have the outside decoration completed but nothing inside yet. Once purchased, you still have to spend at least 100K USD to complete the interior and then buy tables and chairs, kitchen utensils, beds and mattresses for the bedroom... that depends on the purpose of use. In addition to living, there are also many apartment owners who want to make Airbnb, homestay or rental apartments.. they also wait to see how the tourism market plays out before investing capital to complete the interior..
