I'm pretty sure the locking mechanisms have a torque limiter that lets you know exactly how tight to make them. That way you don't have to worry about over tightening them, because you can't lol. Great video!!

Great vid! IMHO general best practice is to not center mount it, but to have it aligned to one of the sides. I tend to put on driver side so it is easy for me to immediately get to it when I park. We use mostly for skiing, so either side works (no street side issues). But passenger side would make sense if you are going to load/unload on a street. Make sure it is aligned straight so you aren't bending it into a crosswind as you drive.

I was thinking of getting this one as it will offer me the best overhead clearance in my parkade. I was curious, though, I need it just to carry a few odds and ends for camping, to free up space in the vehicle. Will the molded shapes (intended for skiis, I guess) be problematic...in the sense of giving less usable space? I guess by extension I'm also curious what is the "height" between the tops fo the molded parts to the top of the lid? Thanks!

I realize there isn't a lot of height to this particular cargo box, which is why I'm wondering if it loses more interior space due to the molded area in the bottom.. Unfortunately this is the only one I think will work for me (for parking clearance).
