First off congrats on a hundred subscribers!!! What Toyota is doing is forcing people to buy the higher trim levels for the “quality” that was standard before…. Keep making videos that highlight not only the good but the annoying things as well as it’s the only way unknowing public will find out… Hopefully, with your channel and others like it we can thwart the manufacturers efforts to “save” money on the newer model vehicles… See you in the next one well done!!!
It seems like fuel efficiency and hybridization have taken priority over quality and reliability with these new generation trucks. Only time will tell, but my experience is proving my point.
For the window issue, I recommend you check out TRD Jon’s videos on his Tundra. It took a while, but he and his dealership was able to solve the window issue.
Thanks for the comment and recommendation. I referenced the TRD Jon video to my dealership. They keep saying they can't replicate the issue, but they're going to look at it when they replace the differential. The center console noise I'm experiencing is just characteristic of the design. It's not as bad as the 2022-2023's we're experiencing. Just a little annoying quirk.
I agree with the other comments on this chat. If you go to the upper level trims (Platinum +) you get very nice materials for the most part. You can easily tell you are in a luxury truck compared to other brands. But I agree, for this prices we should be getting better materials. I have the 2024 Platinum and everything inside is amazing (of course some plastic here and there) but this is the same with other brands Ford, RAM, etc.. unless you go to Luxury cars Audi, BMW etc you then can really see the premiums materials. As long this new Gen are reliabale like the old ones I’m ok with some plastic inside 😂✌🏻 I been OFF Road a couple of times with my new Tundra and the 4 wheel drive is amazing. Truck moves easy anywhere pretty much. Strong power 💪
The Platinum is a really nice trim, and I completely agree with you about the off-road capability. People think I hate this truck, but I’m just pointing out what I like and don’t like so that people can get a better idea of what they’re getting into with the 3rd gen Tundra. I can also live with these cheap material choices if the drivetrain holds up!
Sales have sucked on these and the Tacoma is off to a pretty bad start. They said it was due to inventory and stop sales but theres about the same amount of tacomas listed for sale as any other truck now....and sales are off 26%. I think this whole platform is a huge disappointment. Not really efficent, not particularly powerful, not particularly well built and priced outrageously. I think the whole TGNA-F platform is a caee study on how to lose loyal customers
Well said! If you want to see the future of Toyota's cost reduction strategy (TNGA) and their prioritization of fuel economy, turbos, and hybridization over true QDR, just take a look at what's happening with this 3rd gen Tundra. Cheaply made and assembled interiors, blown engines, faulty mechanical parts, etc. Unfortunately, the automotive industry and consumers now have the cell phone industry mentality of trading in every other year. These products are no longer made to last.
@@ZetaDogProductions it's sad, I like the design and I wanted to like the Tundra and Tacoma. The upcoming 4runner also has a cool looking design, I know it will also be better built in Japan. But it still has all the weird drawbacks. The only product that really makes sense at its price point is the GX, the Land Cruiser is priced offensively high just like Tacoma. I watched a few of your videos, looks like the quality is even worse than I thought on the Tundra. Everyone thought the big 3 couldn't go down either and they did, I can see the writing on the wall with Toyota making things this poorly
It sucks to admit, but it's true. We'll see if they gave up on reliability also. I'm having the rear diff replaced tomorrow, so I'll update y'all on how that pans out! Thanks for stopping by!
You hit the nail on the head. Same complaints of my 2024 Limited TRD. Really like my hybrid power plant. Like the more compliant ride. Hate the rest of the truck. Mostly hate the wind noise and can even feel a cool breeze coming through when very cold.
1st appointment service agreed there is a problem. 2nd appointment service replaced the door gaskets (nothing changed). 3rd appointment service took it for a ride and verified the problem still exists. My next appointment they are going to do more tests and compare my truck to a "non-issue" truck. Toyota seemed unhappy with service for telling me this. Another issue I have is payload. Hybrid pulls like a team of horses, but my camper (6k lbs) felt like it was steering the truck. Yes, I use a weight distribution hitch. Stopped by the Ram lot today to window shop.
@@98charlie It's absolutely infuriating that Toyota's go to strategy is to test it against another defective truck. They did this for the rattles and tailgate gaps I have. My towing experience has been good, but my trailer is 3500 lb. I get the same mileage I got with my mid-size. Good luck with the window shopping!
And it’s about an ugly of truck there is. Huge fail from previous generation. Please look at a Ram interior. Absolutely flawless and top quality. No rattles, shakes or shimmies. I kid you not. I went w the Ram Limited Longhorn as soon as I saw the new Tundra come out. I just can’t get over the poor design and low aesthetics. I really wanted to like it but just can’t. Toyota is doing it again with the new 6th gen 4 Runners. Another fail imo.
I actually like the styling, and it has grown on me quite a bit, but I agree with you about the design flaws and quality control issues. I also agree with you about the 4Runner. They should’ve just updated the transmission and infotainment, and left the truck how it is. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Not sure why you purchased this truck with all the dislikes visibly and with materials. I recommend trading this truck in for something you may like better because I can not see how you will ever be satisfied with this truck. Maybe you'll find the Big Three are also using different materials you don't like unless you go to their upper trim levels. I've had them all and they all have their issues. Good luck.
I purchased the truck because there's a lot of things I DO like about it. You can check out that video if you're interested. I'm simply just providing an honest perspective about what I perceive as annoyances and dislikes so that consumers are well informed before making a decision on purchasing a 3rd gen Tundra.
I would agree with others you hear it in your voice. Please trade this disliked Truck for something you can like and enjoy you invested too much money for your unhappiness. This is my first Tundra and I so far I’m feeling it . I come from a GM family when it comes to Truck. So time will tell did we all make the correct choice 😑😔
I actually like a lot of things about this truck. I have a video that outlines that. Yes, I agree that my disappointment comes through on this video, and I might end up trading it in if it proves to be unreliable. So far, I've had the active spoiler replaced and waiting for the rear differential replacement. Just trying to put out honest content about the truck. Thanks for watching and commenting, though!
@@ZetaDogProductions that’s the problem these days, you have an outstanding 2nd gen with reputation to match and people get all giddy when they see the gadgets in the new truck… would have been better off putting a 10” display in a second gen and calling it a day…. Maintain the truck, and you won’t ever have to buy another one
@@Wellh0wrya I agree. I was seduced by how well the truck drives, as it drives significantly better than the 2nd gen. I deliberately went with the least amount of tech as I could, but you're right; this thing is just overly complicated for what a truck needs to be.
I have the wind noise as well. Feel like I’ve gotten use to it at this point but I agree. Interior quality is not good
I have the same issue and my pano roof rattles. I have been to the dealer. They told me they couldn't hear it. It's very frustrating.
I appreciate vids like these makes me feel like i made a great decision on keeping my 21 Tacoma the last great year for Toyota.
What you’re describing about the interior quality, this is exactly why I did not buy about 6 months ago. I was very disappointed in the quality.

Something about this new generation of toyota tundra/tacoma just not doing it for me.
It seems like fuel efficiency and hybridization have taken priority over quality and reliability with these new generation trucks. Only time will tell, but my experience is proving my point.
Great info Man!!
Looks like a cheaply build expensive truck. Toyota really fell short on the new Tundra design.
Time to get another truck
For the window issue, I recommend you check out TRD Jon’s videos on his Tundra. It took a while, but he and his dealership was able to solve the window issue.
Also to add on, I’m not sure if your console does rattle, but TRD Jon got that fixed too, just incase you have the problem as well.

@ZetaDogProductions can't believe a new Tundra has any issues. My 2017 was solid. I'm shopping other brands because they all fall apart now.
For 50/60 k the quality is unacceptable
Why would you buy one with the terrible reviews ?
