      No worries, do the ones forward!

    Those aren't actually crush washers. Not real expensive, but I've got 36k+ miles on the original washer. Doesn't leak a drop. I just hate to pitch perfectly good parts.
    Another tip is to fill the oil filter with oil before you put it on. The material will soak most of it up. It may drip a few drops when you put it on, but it won't starve the engine of oil nearly as long when you start it back up. Compare how long the oil pressure light stays on when you don't do it. It turns off almost immediately when the filter has been prefilled.

    • @BrandonBicasso
      @BrandonBicasso  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Whoops. Wrong words. Also, same. I figured they would be okay to reuse, but I used the new ones since they came in the box.

    • @blackhawk2475
      @blackhawk2475 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Very good point. I've noticed most vertical mounted oil filters gets prefilled, prefilling the horizontal mounted types also is a good idea.

    • @BrandonBicasso
      @BrandonBicasso  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't have issue with the oil light being on after starting it up. Went off instantly after the Ecu did it's thing.

    • @saddle8bag
      @saddle8bag 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      BB: That's good. Maybe the Indian has a better than average pump? I know before I learned about pre-filling them, the oil lights stayed on a lot longer. Course that's been a long time ago.
      You might want to try it next time just for fun. You might be amazed how much oil that little thing holds. You fill it up, the filter material wicks it up...over and over a few times.

    • @BrandonBicasso
      @BrandonBicasso  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will definitely do that next time. I just went with the way I normally do it.

    Super clean video, Bicasso. Love the chill vibe of the whole thing. Music is key. Maybe some better lighting in the garage, but overall informative and fun to watch.

    • @BrandonBicasso
      @BrandonBicasso  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I try to find music with a similar vibe. And yeah, the lighting was awful and an after thought. Gonna work on that for next time.

    Can’t wait for the upgrades!!!
    I went with a Gman air filter and spark plugs. And I’m gona go with the Hacker Mayhem exhaust, just waiting till Black Friday 🤞🏽 hoping they got some kind of discount.

      @redsolocup7854 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Diego Alvarez gman air intake looks great and everyone is going to hear you coming with the Mayhem's. Lol What fuel controller you going with?

    • @ridin_low193
      @ridin_low193 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Red Solo I’m torn from trying anything other then what hacker has which I believe is AMS. I’ve tried doing research...but man there’s soooo much info out there with so many different opinion with a lot of different prices ranges. But I’ll probably go with the one hacker has cuz it’s tuned for the pipes.

    • @BrandonBicasso
      @BrandonBicasso  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I bought a lil some some myself. ; ). I didn't go THAT hard, though, lol. Diego and I are waiting on CAMS.

      Word on the street is that an Independent Speed Shop is working on something as we speak for cams. After Indian just released there big bore kit for the TS111 engine I'm hopeful maybe they will start showing the Scout some love.

    Did I miss something? It looks like you drained oil from both the engine AND transmission and then just put oil back in the engine. Did you put oil back in the transmission?

    • @bones2405
      @bones2405 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Pretty sure the Indian and Victory lines are like Honda and Yamaha where there's only one type of oil that the engine and transmission share...

    • @BrandonBicasso
      @BrandonBicasso  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah, just the engine. No transmission oil.

    • @Boobtube.

    I actually have of those wrenches with a leather belt on which fits different size car and motorcycle filters. It was like 6 or 7 euro. Works absolutely great. I googled it, its called a strap wrench apparently.

    Thanks for the vid man. I too had a horrible time trying to understand that damn dip stick. I ended up saying , fuck it, and put the whole 4 quarts of oil in. I was unsure on what level is was at. Also I had a hard time remembering the direction to turn my ratchet to remove the bolts that dump the oil. 😅 I can’t believe I struggled with that. I was accidentally tightening them more instead of loosening them. I couldn’t sleep at night thinking I probably messed up the aluminum threads on the body 😰. I have had no leaks since so I can sleep at night now.

    • @BrandonBicasso
      @BrandonBicasso  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't remember my original quote but I think it was about $300 since it's more to it than an oil change. They do some inspections and all that too.

      Brandon Bicasso No big deal was just wondering. I’m thinking of making the jump from sportbike to cruiser and this is one of the bikes I’m really interested in. This bike seem so awesomely low maintenance that it’s unreal. 10,000 miles to a oil change is crazy! That’s a big savings in itself. The only thing that I see from your videos that I don’t like about the bike is that peg scrap.

    • @BrandonBicasso
      @BrandonBicasso  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, it does scrape pegs easily if you're making hair pin turns. On regular roads with sweeps, it doesn't scrape easily. Mostly only happens on very sharp turns.

    You do not need oil wrench, just nail screw driver through filter and unscrew. You do not need to try to save oil filter as it goes to garbage anyway

    • @BrandonBicasso

      If I'm paying that much for a new bike, the least they can do is the 500 mile service for me. I wouldn't object to paying for the oil, but they can provide the labor. With cars/bikes, etc, I would always haggle over price and/or services. They work with me, and I keep going back to them. They stick to their prices, then I go elsewhere. :-) If they want my business, then they need to work with me.

      Exactly, you have the power. If they don't wanna play ball, then oh well!
