      Knowing what you know... If you were to purchase a 2018 Bronze bobber... How much out the door would your $$$ goal be? Please also take into consideration that I'm planning to purchase in July-Sep of 2018. Thanks in advance!!!

    Bicasso -- 100% smart move going with your local dealership where you have a relationship. I try to keep it local as much as possible. Pays big dividends in the long run. And yeah, the parking deck is pretty chill!

    You should have kept the money from the gap and invested it in an IRA. Most insurance companies or credit unions can cover gap for less then the dealer. But in retrospect insurance implies what if or in case. I have owned 13 bikes in my life never got gap or extended insurance plan but only once. And I did it because my dealer treats me well and has never let me down. The funny thing is my extended warranty already paid for itself and still have another 4 years of coverage. Enjoy your Indian.

    • @BrandonBicasso
      @BrandonBicasso  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pedro C Absolutely. I added the Gap insurance into the financing so not $500 up front. Also, my insurance company doesn't offer gap so rather than risk it, I went ahead and got it. I'm big on investing so that's another reason why I didn't buy it outright. :D

    • @BrandonBicasso
      @BrandonBicasso  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, gap saved me a few months ago so I don't wanna get caught without it, lol.

    Smart to think of the business relationship. Not worth screwing up a good thing over a few bucks. Given the "other" Murican brand charges an extra $1k for assembly, $400 for freight, and $300 for paperwork, I'd say you did alright, especially given the low price and popularity of that model.
    Well done!

      How important is ABS to you since you been riding the bike?

    • @FoxHoundSnake
      @FoxHoundSnake 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      ThaRedPitbull-Mix abs isn’t that great in my opinion. If you’re instinct is too always squeeze tight or slam on the brakes you’re best bet is abs. Your breaking distance is always reduced and stopping distance is shorter without abs if you’re experienced enough or good at braking. In reality just as an example you don’t want abs or traction control on a track when you’re looking to get faster times, better braking, and quicker acceleration.

    • @BrandonBicasso
      @BrandonBicasso  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      ABS is the anti-lock braking system. It prevents locking up the wheels from pressing the brakes too hard. As a new rider, it’s an effective safety feature.

      Dobbie Norris Yeah, sucks they didn't offer that on the 2018s. That's why I wanted to get as close to zero as possible since they had the promotion. I figured if they did it in the 2017s, I could get really close to zero on a 2018.

    Im a new rider , debating between the scout 60 & the Bobber ... what do u recommend ?

    • @BrandonBicasso
      @BrandonBicasso  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I base it on several factors. I say get what you want upfront if you can afford it and also if you have the skill level. The Scout 60 isn't pushing as much power as the Bobber, but both can get you in trouble of course. I recommend getting the M endorsement on your license and also taking a safety course. Reason being, both will contribute to lower insurance premiums, your skill level and also allowing you to test ride bikes at demo events. And of course your overall confidence level will be higher. So, if you got the basics down and want a Bobber, I say go Bobber. If not, go Scout 60.

    Thanks for posting the video man. It’s truly helping focus more on the business aspect. Would you happen to have any insights whether the bike’s maintenance is reliable? Is it easier to work on and the accessibility of getting Indian parts? I’m a new guy scouting out the motorcycle game. I was interested in HD but then saw the Indian line up. Please throw some knowledge.

    • @BrandonBicasso
      @BrandonBicasso  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've had the Scout for about... 600 miles so far. I did the oil change myself and have a video up on the channel showing that. It's not a hard bike to work on. I can turn a wrench, but I don't touch engine internals. I think you will be okay. So far, the maintenance and reliability of the Scout is spot on. Kind of early to tell the long term aspect, but so far it's solid.

      So if you were just a regular rider without a TH-cam Channel and with all of your current knowledge of the Scout Bobber; if you had the Bobber next to the Octane and the decision to buy either one knowing that the Octane is $6K less; what would you choose?

    I like the bike I end up buy a softail slim but on the gap . I did replacement on my insurance . Mine covers otd including all fees . Actual otd plus 3 k on accessories. For and additional 50 per year over cash value that most coverages are. Because the gap was 500 it was 500 before interest. Also it only cover gap on mine it covers otd price so if it get stolen a year later I got some money coming my way . So 50 at 5 years is 250 spread out. Also when you feel right-side up on the bike it's easier to drop it vs trying to get your partial refund back. If you trade the bike in some of us know it's s pain to get.

I don’t have a different dealer to negotiate against because no one has it and everyone wants it. Honestly considering triumph at this point due to worry they’ll try and screw me on price. Zero walkway power because if I do they’ll sell it within 5 minutes to the next person so...bit of a tough spot.

      @@BrandonBicasso Very true... also to give you more great news. Your bike will be getting a $2,000 bump in equity come June 1st 2022. I received confirmation from several dealerships that Indian will be bumping up prices on motorcycles across their entire portfolio by 15%. The current MSRP is $12,899, which means an additional $1,950 so that's $14,849 MSRP in one week. This usually translates to used bikes as well; sounds like you really take care of your bike, so enjoy the additional $$$.
      I just bought mine OTD for $15,678 so this price bump is very good news to my ears since I could probably sell it for what I bought it for. Anyways... I plan on keeping this ride for quite awhile and doing some travelling on it. Best wishes, and if you're ever in Utah feel free to reach out.

    You over paid. My 2015 Ninja ZX6-R 30th anniversary edition was 13K new. I got it for 9K out the door no down payment.

      I just went and looked at one at the dealer. We worked out a deal of 8K out the door (Non ABS model). I put down 2,500. I finance 5,500. Not trading my Ninja either. Not going to pull the trigger on it until about Late March or April though. My old lady would kill me if I brought another bike home lol. Got to convince her first.

      On a 2018 Indian Scout Bobber with MSRP $11.5k? Wow

    😂 the whole negotiating your interest rate is BS. That’s not how that works. Especially when you’re financing through your dealer. They can quote you all day, but your credit is the only thing that matters.

      Sure but I still got a better rate negotiating and the bike right at msrp. 13.7 versus 12.5. It’s pinching pennies, but I’ll negotiate all day

    Never and I mean NEVER tell a dealership what interest rate you are comfortable with. The finance guy gets a range after they send off your credit app and they try to hit you on the high side because of kickbacks from the finance companies. I worked at a car dealership and that is what I was told during training. If you want the best deal the do as follows, call the dealership and ask for a cash price out the door. Give them the price you want to pay and stick to it. If they can't meet it move on to another dealer. Be realistic on the "cash" price though! 12k is reasonable but they got their money on the back end of a 60 month loan at 5%. GO TO YOUR bank and get a preapproval and/or check your credit to know what interest you qualify for. I bet you could have got the 2.99% all banks were offering at the time of this video. That's how I do it anyway!! Just food for thought next time!

      Brandon Bicasso I did. But you could have screwed yourself in the long haul. Just never a good idea to let them start high. The second dealership competing for your business saved your rates.

      I didn't let them start high. I asked for a quote initially and was told 14. I said no to that deal and worked my way from there

      I'd be foolish to have walked in and said I wanna pay this much per month or just accept the quote they gave me without negotiating. This bike hadn't been out long so I knew negotiating a msrp price out the door was slim so I pushed 12 as my out the door price and I got that.

      Brandon Bicasso I'm paying cash for this bike. Wonder how much I can get them to drop the price for out the door lol
