    .............................................................
This is the new Toyota Hilux!
Toyota has updated its well-known pickup to target more everyday car buyers, rather than being seen just as a commercial vehicle. But has it worked?
Well, there’s a few design updates to the exterior, including new running boards and an all-new grille upfront. As for the interior… Well, not much has changed!
As for engines, as with the old model, you can get a 2.4-litre turbo-diesel, which can produce 150hp and 400Nm of torque. However, there’s also a new engine available - a 2.8-litre 4cyl. turbo-diesel, with 204hp & 500Nm!
But what do you think, is the Hilux good enough to consider over a standard car? And more importantly, if you decide to try it out in its natural habitat (off-road, of course), can it still do the business compared to its rivals?! You’ll have to check out our all-new in-depth review to find out!

We have the previous series Hilux as construction site vehicles here in Algeria, the D4D units are good enough but not quite as reliable the NA ones, these are quite fraankly impossible to kill, one of our drivers drove it without coolant cuz it leaked out and its still going strong today at 650,000kms

About the payload ratings: Toyota puts on a rating of what it must be able to do. No matter the weather conditions, what shape your tyres are in, how old the car is. In short, a Hilux can take a ton and a half easy and ferry it around to the other side of the world if need be.
Porsche does the same with their performance figures. It's not about what is possible, it is what you MUST be able to achieve.

Wow!! Fantastic beast...and such a beautiful colour too. I'd love one for going shopping in 😂 My first husband had a 1982 Hilux in Tonka Yellow. He had to put extenders on the pedals as they were too high for my little feet. IIRC it was a very thirsty 2.4 petrol which was totally geared for pulling a heavy load as it really wasn't suitable as a shopping 'car' and I had a serious personality transplant when I drove it. It seemed as though I grew devil horns when behind the wheel 😈 and I became quite arrogant, giving way to no one as I knew nobody would argue with a huge yellow beast of a truck 😂 My husband loved it though and used to take our toddler son and go off-road with it. I never got chance as I was quite pregnant with our second born and once he was born, I thought if I'd asked my mother to look after our boys for an hour or so, she would have told people behind my back shite about being irresponsible... and then he sold it anyway.

I moved to Thailand 3 years ago from the UK.
I bought a Toyota Hilux after looking at the competition of Ford Ranger, Isuzu, Mazda BT50, Mitusbishi Triton and Nissan Navara.
    No regrets.
I am surprised at the quality and reliability of Toyota having been in a Toyota Corolla Taxi in Bangkok that had done 1 Million kms ( 630,000 miles).
I would suggest you UK people look at Toyota and Lexus and also Honda and the Mazda 3 (alternative to the VW golf) as alternatives to those German cars that are expensive to service, not so reliable and are costly to repair and have the pleasure of revenge on the EU after the way the EU Buro-craps treated the UK and what Ursula von Der Layen and Merkel said the UK have to do for a free trade agreement.
