Great video!! I'm specifically looking at pairing the MKE 600 (powered by a battery) and DJI Mic 2. Would you happen to know if that will give the same noise as the older mics in this video do?
Leaned this the hard way with my mic 2 connected to diety d3 pro. Was running d3 pro on cam Connected to DJI transmitter and one DJI transmitter on talent. it messed up my audio for an important shoot. Thank god I had internal recording on the talent mic to save it.
@@mrheng562 quite hard to say, but probably the last one - no surprise! I’ll be giving my Rode MicGo ii a shot, plan on having the transmitter quite close so fingers crossed!
Which mic do you recommend for an ASMR cooking vidoe recording with a dji mic2 and a shotgun mic? Like to get close audio to copking sounds but with a distant video recording.
@@mrheng562 If you have a rode MTG and want the gain highest nd closes to the subject. If connected to a wireless transmitter, which controlls the gain the rode mic or wireless transmitter?
@@raczyk Mic 2 has auto gain and the last in line to transmit signal to camera. So, if you set the NTG to high gain, you can still potentially clip if your settings are too loud, but Mic 2 will attempt to avoid clipping. However, with internal 32 bit recording, it can possibly be salvageable. It all depends on your shogun mic’s SPL levels. 32 bit float can still clip depending on mic SPL constraints. I hope that made sense.
I’m just guessing “hear,” and I don’t think so. The microphone needs phantom power, and I’m guessing that the DJI Mic 2 does not provide that kind of power. You can order one and try it. If it doesn’t work, return it. 😅
I was wondering if the internal recording of the DJI Mic 2 is the same quality as the Rode wireless Pro, despite them both being 32bit. Why choose one over the other
@@MikeO01 sounds quality will be different because of mic’s construction. But, the files edit the same in terms of quality in software. Did that make sense?
In terms of overall audio quality, is the internal recording on most cameras “good enough” for an external shotgun mic or would it be worth it to have the mic and an external recorder such as the Rode Wireless Pro mounted to the camera as well?
If you know how to EQ in post and set your levels correctly, you’re good to go. But, the limitations are based on frequency response of each mics and their SPL limits. For example, I’m very loud, so I’ll need to get a mic with high SPL to avoid clipping when I jet excited. I have already clipped the Rode Wireless Pro in my recently interview. But, the gain assist helped a good deal. I didn’t feel the need to go into too much detailed audio edit in 32-bit float. You hear it in my upcoming video of Miss World - Cambodia interview. 😄👍
If you have a Sony camera you can use the Sony wireless adapter for DJI mic 2. Can connect shotgun to one transmitter and use the other transmitter for whatever else
Thank you for testing

Now that's interesting. I know exactly the sound you're referring to. And yet on my surround sound, I don't hear it in this video at all.
