I have this exact set up and honestly, the thing I found most helpful was being able to boom mic people in interviews with my videomic pro, but not having to use a super long mic cord ran to my camera. I can't find any that DON'T give me terrible interference noises and clicks for some reason but with running it just to a DJI mic transmitter, the receiver picks up like normal and actually gives me more control. Never thought about the double micing method for ambience of a room though and that's brilliant. Will keep in mind for when I film football highlights and locker room speeches thanks!
Just recently bought the DJI mic set and i'm super excited to use it in tandem with the Rode mic showcased in this video that i already own! Thanks for the tips on separating the audio tracks. Looking forward to your future content Jared! - Justin J
Been hearing nothing but good things about the DJI mic set. I been using the Sarmonic wireless lav mics I’ve had so many issues with them disconnecting. Definitely going to upgrade soon!
I just bought it today! I had no idea it existed and came across it looking into the Rode Go mic. It's absolutely incredible! Something like this when I first started would've been 5 times as much.
I have dji mic 2 and boom stereo/mono Azden smx-30. I haven’t try yet to connect the boom mic to the dji mic 2. I need the splitter TRS stereo to two TS mono 3.5
Mate this is such a gem of a video, unbelievable for a channel with only 264 subs!! (265 now ;) ) Thank you so much, I'm using some other Rode Mic don't even remember what I bought, just bought it because I heard the brand was good and it has been really good but I may upgrade to the Rode Video Mic Pro+ just for the single feature of it automatically turning on and off on it's own, I have done that so many times where I've accidentally not turned on audio or left it on and killed my battery. I already have the DJI Mic as well but not tested it out yet. One thing I've noticed is that what do you use to mount all your camera accessories onto the camera, I can see you've got the Rode Mic, a Teleprompter or sorts and then the DJI Mic as well all mounted, I didn't even know such a product existed so would be great if you can share your wisdom with me once more 💕
I have the same audio setup as you and loved the solution of using the Dji Mic clipped onto the Rode Mic. Was about to overcomplicate this with a audio splitter cable into two from the camera. This way the directional mic will be recorded on camera, and you still be able to record both tracks on Mono S. Can you record both with Mono S? Meaning, do you have a safety track on both mics using this duo transmitter idea?
wouldn‘t be possible to record internally with the dji mics and record to the camera with the shotgun? so in that way you could use 2 dji mics seperatly
You can connect the boom mic in stereo with a 3.5 and record internally two mono voices internally. Or you can connect each transmitter mono to a splitter stereo mono to record stereo wirelessly. You can also record with boom mic connected to one transmitter in mono and use the second transmitter to record another person in mono and set the receiver in stereo to be able to work the two track separately in post.
Quick question mate… Will the dji reciver be able to power an unpowered shotgun mic, like the rode video mic go ii or rode video micro, (they dont have batterys) the camera audio socket just powers them.. cheers!
I don’t believe it will. The other issue is you’ll have to make sure you power on your mic. The mic in the video I show auto powers on with the camera but not with the receiver.
Do you have the interference issue everyone is talking about? Noticed with my videomic go that the shotgun mic likes to pick up the signal from the dji mic which is avoidable by bringing the shotgun mic far enough away from it. Do you have these issues with the Pro also?
So far I’ve never noticed any issues with that. I don’t have a ton of time on this setup rn bc it is kind of niche. I can definitely see how it would be an issue though.
is there a specific reason for pro plus over videomic ntg? also i am using small panasonic gx9 would the pro plus get in the shot when using ultra wide angle lenses like laowa 7.5mm? thanks
Are those mountains CG or is that really your view cuz I'm on my way to visit :0 I need to sell my zoom lapel mic and buy this DJI Lav mic it sounds amazing!
@@lensofjared Thats what im planning to do. To plug the Rode NTG4+ (wich has internal phantom power) in the DJI Mic so I can have a compact wireless boom mic. But I havent seen anyone on youtube doing that. No video at all.. and I was wondering if that could work, if the DJI Mic would hold to get the shotgun signal properly.
Dji nic is great, but windshields are poooor Quality! Its a pitty dji does not include 2 spare ones in the box. Its costs 2$ probably. Ive been travelling for 4 months and both worned out half of my journey. I send dji email and they said I can buy them from them! Shame on you dji! Im not Happy Even spended £3k on dji gear in last year.

Dang, this is a brilliant way of using both mics! Really like how it sounds with the more ambient sound mixed in a bit.
I personally like it as well since it sounds little more natural!
This was an incredible video. Props to who wrote the script.
Thank you! It was my third time writing a script so that makes me feel good 🖤

Glad I could help! Good luck friend!
I peep the freshly wrapped tattoo! Another top notch video boss!
Thanks Cam! Its almost healed up haha
THANK YOU! Audio has been my biggest roadblock
It’s a pain tbh, I hate dealing with audio. This kit definitely makes it doable
Great job with this. No fluff and to the point - appreciate you!
Glad you enjoyed this! I’ll keep working to make my videos quick and to the point 🙏🏼
I agree... straight to the point!

Thank you Justin! I’m glad I was able to help, audio can be such a pain sometimes! Hmu if you have any questions
Thanks for showing how to split the stereo tracks up at the end. That was very helpful.
No problem, hope it adds to your bag of tricks 🤙🏼
@@lensofjared It sure does, thank you!
I desperately needed this video - bless you
Hope it helps!
Needed this video and those mountain views are incredible
Glad I could help! The views here are insane

Hope they work better for you! I haven’t had very many issues with DJI so I think it’ll be a good call!
I just bought it today! I had no idea it existed and came across it looking into the Rode Go mic. It's absolutely incredible! Something like this when I first started would've been 5 times as much.
It’s amazing what gear we have available now for very affordable prices!
Amazing video! Just picked the kit up to try to upgrade my mountain biking/skiing videos using a lav mic. Thanks for the information!
They’re great mics! Glad you I was able to help you
Really great video brother. Instant follow for me.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the follow man 🙏🏼
Convincing me on your setup! Thanks for sharing
It’s a great little setup! Works amazing for events. I personally love a little ambiance when watching videos.

This was a really good video bro !
Thank you!
Great video, very informative! Keep it up!
Thanks, will do!
Excellent video. Thank you!

Thanks for the kind words! 🖤 I do plan on making a rig breakdown video in the future!
Droppin Gems!

I’m actually not sure! I’ve never tried but I believe it could mean it would need 4 channels of audio? Not sure 100% sure.
Cool video. What mic do you use for your studio videos like this one?
I use the DJI lav mic that was showcased in the video. Plan to upgrade to a NTG at some point

That’s my view hahahah Utah kinda slaps
Hey mate.. have you used the shotgun mic pluged into the DJI Mic as if it was a boom mic?
Yes I have actually! Only once but it worked great!

Why not use the rode wireless mic instead of DJI ?
They don’t have a lot of the features DJI does like internal recording and a convenient charging case
Bro has under 500 subs....what ?!
Mono shotguns certainly aren't well suited for ambience recording.
Gets the job done
Too much difusion filter.
Personal preference, I like it, at least for now until what I like changes 🤣
