Hey Joseph! I love this mic and my favorite feature is also the automatic on/off, however my microphone has somehow turned that feature off or it quit. Can you share how to enable it?! I miss it terribly!
Thanks! When filming with the rode mic plugged into the camera (embedding audio into the video clips) I set the audio in the camera to peak around -12. If I’m using the mic with a separate audio recorder and just using the camera’s internal mics as source audio for syncing, I simply put the audio on auto. Hope this helped!
Your voice sounds great with this mic, so jealous haha. I can't seem to get this kind of quality from my Pro + Edit: You have to be using a EQ right? This isnt raw audio?
I love the Rode Mic Plus. I directed 30 short films and two documentary feature films with my canon 5d mark 3 camera on this mic. been selected for over 270+ festivals and won over 55 awards. if you are an indie filmmaker, it's a great investment and time saver in indie filmmaking.
@@cinemasagehow did u record the audio of your short films with this mic ? Boom or on camera ? And into what recorder ? The micpro+ can produce more noise than a mke 600 so how did u get get rid of noise ? In post ?
@@creativegreatsvisuals always set your camera audio levels minus four or minus five. that way it won't over-peak or hiss. then when you edit it, you can bring up the audio up to the level that you need. saves so much time.
@@cinemasage so after lowering volume in camera and recording new footage, when u replay that footage in camera after recording the audio will sound low but in post raise it up ?
True, I was struggling to get better audio quality out of my Rode VideoMic Go 2 When it's a little bit far from me. Bringing it closer, it's getting into the shot, so...
Dude, this is a great video and a great channel, you deserve way more recognition.
Thank you so much!
Great video! Thank you for showing the difference in sound
It's been a long time since this mic was released and it would be nice to see an updated version with USB-C!

Do you turn mic power off in camera or use mic power on?
When using on camera what do you set your in camera volume to in order to get less noise ? Also do you set it to 75 or 150 in most situations?
This was an excellent video. Thank you. What do you set your camera's audio on? -12 or off all together?

I just bought this mic. How do you get that clear crisp sound with no hisss? What settings you use? Do you do it in post?
I’ve never had issues with hiss… maybe your gain is set too high? A quiet room and getting the mic close is the key to good audio
Do you have acoustic panels in your room Joseph? I have the similar microphone but my audio quality is not as good as yours.
I do not but I do have carpet and I get the mic super close with a boom. Try using some blankets to absorb the noise!
Really appreciate this video thank you for the info. Do you have a link for the cage and boom pole?
what if your filming super loud car exhaust will it peak or can it handle it?
I would recommend using the on board -10db gain stager.
Hi thanks for the vid! Can I use this mic to capture audio on my iPhone 15? any tips on how?

Thank you haha! Nah I’m too lazy to mess with EQ- this is just raw audio :)
