    - About Dr. Mary Claire Haver and The Galveston Diet -
Dr. Mary Claire Haver is a passionate women’s health advocate who believes women in midlife deserve to live their best life. She cuts through fat-shaming and fads, so women are empowered with the science behind anti-inflammation nutrition.
Dr. Mary Claire Haver is a wife, mom, physician, and entrepreneur who has devoted her adult life to women’s health. As a Board-Certified OBGYN in the Houston area, Dr. Haver has delivered thousands of babies, completed thousands of well-woman exams, counseled patients, taught residents, and did everything an academic professor and OBGYN could do.
As her patient population aged, Dr. Haver was overwhelmed with the number of complaints and concerns her patients had with weight gain while going through menopause. For years, she told her patients to eat less and exercise more. It wasn't until she experienced the changes of menopause and mid-life weight gain that she realized this advice doesn't work and ultimately led to her creating and developing a new program, The Galveston Diet.
The Galveston Diet is the first and only nutrition program created by a Female OBGYN, designed for women in menopause. The Galveston Diet helps women reach their health and wellness goals through an anti-inflammatory approach to nutrition. Dr. Haver believes in food's power to combat inflammation and highly recommends the unlimited benefits of intermittent fasting. As part of her ongoing research, she became certified in Culinary Medicine in 2019, specializing in medical nutrition.

I love these delicious looking meal ideas and your time saving tips. I just ordered your book and am really looking forward to trying out new recipes that can help me get rid of this belly fat, fight inflammation, and have a healthier life. Thank you for your expertise and the research you have done regarding the menopausal nutritional needs! I have always tried to eat healthy and stay fit and have been discouraged that my old routines/diet don't seem to work anymore. You have compiled what I have been looking for!

    I love your videos!
Side note with love: I'm a kitchen designer. I wouldn't recommend putting a pan straight off the burner (or oven) on the stone counterop... It may crack.

You could even skip the baking them now and wait til you eat them and then bake or microwave them. That way your not overcooking them. 😉

I prefer to use glass storage containers for my lunches when I have something that needs reheating in the microwave. If it’s a cold dish- like salad or fruit, then plastic is fine.

I would like to try The Galveston Diet, however, I have Fibromyalgia and Osteo Arthritis so recipes with a lot of steps are hard for me. Do you have any easy recipes on The Galveston Diet? I looked at some on your site and they all seemed to have many steps. They also had foods I'm not used to, but I'm willing to try anything. My concern about different foods is there is only myself and my husband I cook for so what do I do with the remaining portion of food not used in a recipe. I can't afford to buy something and use 1/4 cup of it and the rest goes to waste.
Could you write a Galveston Diet for two? Lol Most women in menopause have children that are grown so a cookbook for two makes sense. Good luck with your clinic. I know you'll help many people.

What you see on the website is pretty indicative of the program. I suggest you call your doctor and ask for a referral to a registered dietician so you can get options specifically designed to meet your needs.

Can you substitute something else for the pico?. To much spice gives me bad heartburn/indigestion.

@@elainefogleman8182the basic ingredients for pico de gallo are tomato, onion, jalapeño, cilantro and a little salt. You can make your own without the jalapeño, or look for one that’s “mild” in the store.
