Basically, never eat vegetable oils, anything with wheat, corn, soybeans, margarine or processed beyond recognition. Eat grass fed, grass finished beef, free range chicken and eggs, green leafy veggies, real butter, avocado and coconut oil. Stick with low glycemic fruits like berries.

    Greetings from India! 🇮🇳
Dentist here. About a year ago, I set began serious research (for self consumption and education) of the published literature on the connection between diet and inflammation, diet and metabolic syndrome, diet and menopause, GI hormones obesity and genetics, obesity and epigenetics, gut microbiome, etc.
And I can say unequivocally that you have covered all the bases. *A succinct and polished presentation if ever there was one!* 👌🏽👌🏽👏🏾👏🏾
And please *_do not_* let anyone tell you (like I think someone did in this live video) that you are 'fear mongering' -- that is outright nonsense!
Keep up the good work.💐 I am a new, and happy, subber!

My niece moved to Paris & she says the gov has strict rules on the food they import & sell. No articual sweeteners anywhere, only fresh meats etc. the interesting thing she told me was the Coca Cola company makes special cola for them w less harmful ingredients. So basically our Gov doesnt care & we drink the bad version here. Sidenote, she says tge Cola there tastes so much better.

My son suffered from severe eczema for years. We spent hours visiting dermatologists, sun tanning, trying creams, etc. We discovered food issues only after a functional medicine M.D. recommended a food sensitivity test. My son reacts to egg whites, yeast, onion, oats, and several other foods. As long as these are eliminated from his diet, his skin is flawless and he doesn’t itch. I believe in food sensitivity tests.

I had those food sensitivities and allergies develop with peri menopause. Since it was in the middle of covid and no allergen it’s was open, my dr explained how to do the elimination diet and what signals and symptoms to look for in mild sensitivities up to major allergies. It’s been very helpful as now I no longer have to be afraid of new food situations. After seeing her, I found lots of help on Pinterest and here on TH-cam. It’s not really for life threatening situations, but helps me not to get to that point.

Something a lot of people mistake for a gluten sensitivity is the way wheat is processed, white or whole. In North America farmers can spray a desiccant on the crops before harvest to dry them out so they don't mold while in storage. This desiccant is highly toxic to us and not allowed in Europe. This is why many people who think they have a gluten sensitivity can travel to Europe and eat all the bread and pasta and not have any GI issues. If you have methylation issues and don't detox well, you're more likely going to suffer. I am in this boat. I was recently in Turkey and experienced this first hand. I was able to eat so many things I simply can't in Canada without any GI issues. The things companies are allowed to put in our food in North America is shocking.

Ground and fresh ginger are my best friends! Everyone lauds turmeric but i turn into a zombie when i use that product. Mustard powder is another of my allies. I have had to eliminate dairy, vegetable oil, white flour. Most pork products. I am pushing 61 have been working out pretty steady for 2 years + now and I'm seeing my certain areas of fat storage around my ab area. I am working on my nutrition and I have been adding better things in. If I'm doing any sweetners brown sugar in baking, real maple syrup and raw honey. I feel like I'm intoxicated on most of the sweetners so i just leave them alone. I LOVE fresh blueberries and a variety of fresh fruits just have to be mindful as to what i eat them with due to sugar crashes. And yes I do add FRESH ground flaxseed and chia seeds to my baking. Thank you for sharing your information and knowledge. I have found some answers to some of my issues.

I've changed to an organic clean eating diet without gluten soy and minimal dairy, lean meats, low carb veggies, (and very minimal sugar amounts) that are all organically grown. I take a probiotic very regularly and vitamin supplements and feel like a very healthy person.

Not many people know or talk about the chemicals in so called healthy foods like spinach, broccoli etc (salycilates) nuts, meats, cocao (amines) and Glutamates! Natural is NOT always better! Some people get headaches from amines, talking fast, dizziness, even seizures from salicylates just as in nitrates xx
The most important thing for all of us to remember is THERE IS NO ONE DIET THAT WORKS FOR EVERYONE...TRUST YOUR INTUITION XX It is great though to see an M.D talking about nutrition - Thankyou 💖

Hang in there girl. You are not crazy or alone. It was Such a difficult time in my life. On top of all the crazy I had just lost my Mother a few months before the surgery,,,so I didn’t have a trusted female I felt confident enough to share what I was feeling…
I COMPLETELY understand what your going through. Talk to your GYN and hopefully you can find another female who has had the same surgery. I will tell you since working out, eating healthy and the help of my GYN …. Got me back on track.
I still struggle with a bit of sleeplessness ,,, but it’s NOTHING like it was. I’m feeling better and I have much MORE ENERGY than Ive ever had . Tell your GYN what’s happening and get counseling if you can. Your insurance will pay for it. It’s important not to silently suffer.

@@NansGlobalKitchen I’m so sorry you’re still going through it. it’s just awful that they don’t tell us what could happen even if it dose not happen to ALL. I was hit from left field …. I still sleep hot but at least getting rest even if I wake up drenched. I am also feeling normal again and not like a raging Lunatic🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
For high blood sugar you can take Berberine. It’s Natural but all brands are not created equal. Thorne is one of the best brands. You can order on Amazon. My doctor also put me on the lowest grade of Prozac. When he first suggested it I cried … because I grew up ignorant to the stigmas given to people who use it. I have to say…. IT IS A GAME CHANGER. I feel much more normal….
My family noticed the difference right away. I continue to research Natural ways to get my health on track and so far these things are working. I am even down 43 lbs since January 🙌🏾🙌🏾. The intermittent fasting, healthy eating and walking daily is helping me to take back mr life.

Sorry this is so long..but I hope my story will help someone else...My husband and I are constantly finding out more and more that our bodies can't tolerate as we get older. Little did I know that you can develop allergies and not always born with them. My struggle started after I got my tubes tied after my second child. It started with severe abdominal pain with such severe diarrhea that I had to be put on in IV because I was so dehydrated I couldn't hardly even walk...they did test after test checked all my organs, gallbladder, ect..and long story short..it was eggs!! I had eaten eggs my whole life, never had a problem ..OMG..was I ever glad I figured that out on my own...next was severe headaches...again..went to doctors..test after test..they couldn't find anything..told me I was depressed..gave me anti-depressents...I told them NO..and long story short again..It was bananas!! Then from there I started journaling everything I ate and when I got a headache I looked back and boom!! Here is my list I found out was causing them....banana's, cinnamon, paprika, msg's, certain kinds of olive oils, soy anything, spices, red apples,(I can eat granny smiths) gluten, most wines, beer, and alcohol, smelly things like candles, deodorants, shampoo's, perfumes, colognes, detergents, (I can only use ALL free, fragrance free dryer sheets and no liquid softners at all!!) Bleach and chlorine are major triggers.(can't even have chlorinated water or Ice made with it) I now take a half of a Benadryl whenever I feel one coming on and it takes it away. I thought my food problems were over...but no...I started feeling super lethargic in my 30's and just couldn't function somedays...I was told I was Hypoglycemic(low blood sugar) so I gave up sugar started feeling a little better but still wasn't quiet right..long story short...it was gluten!! Again was so happy when I figured that out..I also found out that I was born with a prolapsed valve and some tiredness was coming from that...but nothing like what the gluten was doing...Other super weird allergies are blueberries and jalapenos....I don't know how or why but if I eat them I get a pain in my groan area and literally can't walk. I had help from a awesome lady who I was working for at the time who just happened to have a husband who had several food allergies and had gone to many many food allergy specialist all over the country and she taught me a really cool trick..she could tell from just looking at me and seeing the super dark circles around my eyes and seeing me walk all stooped over that I was having a food sensitivity issue and asked me if I had eaten anything out of the ordinary and at that time it just happened to be I had been making blueberry smoothies..(trying to be healthy) and so she actually had some in her fridge and she told me to stand still, put my hands in front of my chest palms up, put my head down and close my eyes.( I was like..ummm..okay??) Honest to God!! the next thing I remember is her husband catching me as I was falling over backwards!!! When she put those blueberries in my palms my body rejected them so badly it literally pushed me backwards trying to get away from them..the most bizarre feeling I had ever felt!!! That was life changing to me!! I picked her brain for the longest time and learned so much about what food allergies can do to you...I have helped countless people including my brother in law..they told him with his migraines was caused from missing a blood vessel in his neck and had him on all kinds of meds..NOPE..he was allergic to peanuts! My boys..my oldest can't eat pork he gets migrains..my youngest can't eat jalapenos..he can't move his right wrist, they tried to him he had gout...Nope!! My husband...anything corn!! His feet and legs swell up and his heart freaks out...dairy instantly plugs his nose up...I could go on and on...but I'm telling you all this in hopes it will help someone else find the correlation with maybe something that you've been having trouble with and a certain food. God Bless!!!

I just found you online and I am trying to consume all of this amazing info as quickly as I can! You've already inspired me to make changes even though I'm traveling full time rn in Europe. I MUST get back on HRT. I stupidly weaned myself off of it because my PCP had concerns about cancer. Also, it was really expensive! (more than $100/3 months thru CostPlusDrugs) But now I see that my doctor was working with old, debunked information. I'm going to get back on HRT as soon as I can get an Rx filled overseas. I'm 65, in good health, yoga 6x/week, love to cycle and swim, and want to delay the "falling down" stage of life (as I call it) for as long as possible. Side notes: 1. You look amazing. Don't apologize for your body. :) 2. The view from your house is gorgeous! 3. REX!!! Totes adorbs.

I’m in the UK, 50 years old and could always lose weight in the past. I go to the gym 5 times a week and walk daily and always try to eat healthily. I am getting married on the 9 July and just can’t loose any weight which is especially around my stomach.
I joined the Galveston diet 5 days ago and have lost 5 pounds! I eat in the 8 hours and although I’m a picky eater the recipes are delicious and I feel great!

You have to specify cane sugar from beet sugar and sugars that are naturally in fruits. There’s a difference. Also, what about lectins? I know from my experience lectins do a lot of damage and it’s helped my body to try to avoid foods that have lectins. Yet, not many doctors seem to know about them.

Adding more protein has hugely helped my blood sugar swings. Was able to fast almost 10 hrs for blood work today . Couldn’t do that in January. My readings for diabetes was high in January yet that still didn’t convince my dr. I couldn’t fast then do to blood sugar swings. Protein has helped , blood sugar still goes up if I have a small cheat.

I have always followed a whole foods type diet, never really eating junk. I avoid seed oils like the plague because they are so inflammatory and even though I don't have any gluten problem I'm just not super interested in bread or pasta so I've never really eaten it. No processed packaged convenience foods or crackers or anything like that. I haven't eaten margarine since the '80s when my mother fed me gold & soft. This year at age 50 I really started concentrating on getting lots of protein at every meal when I realized I had been basically under eating for my entire life. I eat all forms of protein, meat eggs fish shellfish chicken. Lots of olive oil and butter. I eat some rice and I eat some fruit and veggies but every meal focuses primarily on protein. On the rare occasion I want a treat I will have a damn ice cream cone because it gives me no issues and I want to live my life without being afraid of food. Anyway within a matter of weeks a whole slew of issues completely cleared up. Bleeding gums, incredibly painful periods, anxiety, sore joints, constipation, in total about eight things went away or improved in a matter of probably three weeks. I'm finally able to build muscle at the gym despite having lifted weights since age 16. I've doubled my calories and if I really concentrate on getting that protein in I lose weight. I'm almost 51 and my periods are still 29 days apart like clockwork. I found a supplement that completely got rid of all my occasional night time hot flashes so I feel like a new person. I'm no longer afraid to get old. I'm not here to argue with anyone I'm just telling you my experience, good luck everybody! 🩷

I think a glass of wine per night is still extremely excessive because ultimately alcohol is a sugar, it will raise the blood glucose and honestly I think a glass per week is safer than a glass per night.

    • @TisDana
      @TisDana ปีที่แล้ว

The process of making alcohol changes sugar into alcohol. Red wine and champagne have 1.6 sugar in a bottle! Wine actually lowers glucose. The issues with wine are: 1) the alcohol is an inflammatory substance to the gut lining and 2) your metabolism burns alcohol first, before glucose and protein. So, if you have much wine, any calories you consume will be stored as fat.

Well now on day 12 on the diet and just can’t believe I have lost ten pounds! I couldn’t loose one pound even though I ate healthily for many months and went to the gym five times a week and walked daily.
I’m getting married in 6 weeks and had lost all hope of loosing anything!
It’s not easy but I love the healthy food, feel in control with the 8 hour window and am so thankful I found this diet.
The fat around my middle was really getting me down and although I lost weight in the past I was 13 stone 8 and just couldn’t loose anything.

Sufferer of lifelong endometriosis. Post menopause I have been having terrible joint pains, insane weight gain…and took your inflammation quiz (failed only because it was about last 24 hours and last 24 hours I was ‘whatever’ with my food intake) so all in all a disaster.
My sister and friend ( same symptoms as me) independently sent me your link on TikTok. I took it as a sign, subscribed and bought your Galveston diet book on kindle.
However I have one niggling doubt ‘ is this all marketing strategy to sell your book and services ‘. I bring this up only because of that comment about fear mongering .
