I do like all of these ideas, however I sadly doubt that mojang will have any new animals drop items upon death (at least items with a real use) seeing as the recent mob additions haven't dropped much when killed.

Now we’re talking. To be honest, just being able to reach a bit further to place blocks didn’t feel like enough of a difference to me. If we get the climb and ability for throw blocks though, it’d be more exciting to me.
What I would love for the crab is for it to have a custom cracked block that it crawls into as it’s home and can be used to break with silk touch when that happens the crab becomes hostile kind of like the bee!
It would be cool if with two chains and a crab claw you could craft a weapon that extends itself, once it hits a enemie it drags it to you which would be really cool.
I like the idea of having crabs for different biomes but maybe a better idea could be having different species of crab for different biomes, Kinda like the frogs, So it would be some nice variation and maybe on mangrove one drops claw Also the bubble thing at the end would be really cool as a particle for when they’re in water
Its specifically a fiddler crab... that's _why_ it only shows up in Mangrove Swamps. Cause the Fiddler Crab is an essential part of the Mangrove ecosystem, and Mojang likes that kind of thing.
Throwing a block really isn't out of the realm of possibility. It makes sense that the claw, which increases block reach, would be upgraded to allow for chucking blocks, which is technically even further block reach. I'm still betting on the crab claw being a potion ingredient, though.
Being able to throw blocks with the claw like in lacrosse would potentially make some fun new minigame ideas. Let’s say you wanna reach a machine that opens a door and you have a redstone block? Although we already have target blocks for that. But you could also throw and aim tnt instead of making a whole cannon that only points 1 direction. And maybe it’ll make a more challenging way of creating pixel art and sculptures. Maybe shulker boxes can come into play? I’ll just have to hope the experts find more uses. All I know is I prefer something more dynamic like this, instead of reaching a couple extra blocks.

I don't think working with Mojang would be better, sure kingbdogz(creator of Aether) is now working on the game and lead the ancient city update, but I think he was very restricted and couldn't implement all of his ideas which I think would be the same case here

this is great, but I always hate this fear of mobs changing blocks I know it's part of mojang's rulebook but I don't like it you could make the coral crab neutral too it only throws blocks if you provoke it so it becomes your fault that blocks are being thrown and placed and of course a blacklist of blocks it couldn't pick up
It would be better and kind of funny if the crab instead of punching it would jus grab you and deal some damage over time for a little bit until it detatches, you know, like real crabs

That’s a good thing imo. I would like to interact with animals in other ways beside just killing them when I see them. Unless it’s for food of course.
