Wow that's crazy that the emax stock nano antennas were no good. I have used a few of those antennas and they have been fine - maybe a bad batch went out. 😬 You might be right in your assumption that they mixed up LHCP and RHCP antennas by accident during assembly.
There were two problems. First was a mis-labelled power setting. Second was an actual design/production issue with the connector on the boards. My understanding is that the VTX portion (at least the connection portion) was redesigned and dispatched to retailers. A local retailer where I am had 10 of these things with the same issue - it was a physical problem on the board itself. He had to convince EMAX that there was an issue - at least initially.
Friend, which antenna would you recommend replacing instead of the original? Where can I buy it?
@@ThomazMelo007 I used the iflight sigma RHCP antenna. You can get them on amazon
@@dylanewelch thanks! I have another question hahaha If I change this antenna, will the glasses that come in the original kit work after the change?
I'm starting out in the FPV hobby and I'm very new. :/
@@ThomazMelo007 not sure. Don't own the kit goggles. I use ev800d
Nice video can you please help me bind my tiny hawk 3 plus freestyle analog to my emax d8 controller that came with my tiny hawk 3 rtf kit. I'm good enough with the whoop now and want badly to fly my freestyle. Please please help me 🙏
@@user-hi5quadxplorer the tinyhawk 3 freestyle uses an elrs spi receiver. It can't be bound to a d8 remote
@@dylanewelch I have d12 mode on it also will that work?
@@user-hi5quadxplorer unfortunately no. The d8/d16 are frsky protocols. You'll need a radio with the ELRS protocol. The betafpv lite radio 3 pro is a really good choice.
@@dylanewelch ok thank you. I was told I could use the same controller. I'm about to buy a box master pocket clear version or the hglrc controller that comes with the draknight rtf kit. are those good for me? I'm just flying micro quads all analog elrs.
@@user-hi5quadxplorer my buddy flys a rm pocket and he loves it. I use a tx12 and it's pretty amazing too. I can recommend either of those. The betafpv literadio 3 pro also runs edgetx but I've never used it personally
Its definitely a much better experience flying 2S. But having 2 separately connected 1S batteries opens you up to a short circuit in an unlucky crash.
Mine lasted a few weeks before ejecting one battery but not the other in a crash. Some smoke rose from the wreckage and I knew it was done 😂
I'm a tinkerer so i take the "if it dies, it dies" approach. I've got some 5000kv motors sitting on my desk about to go in a 3" 3s toothpick "junk drawer build"
