Awesome follow on review Kelly and Kris! I won a Tinyhawk 2 Freestyle RTF kit at Spinup in 2021 and loved it. I have since passed it on to a good friend that is enjoying it as well.
Clearest review/recommendation I’ve seen so far, you gave me straight answers from the start and I still wanted to watch to the end for the full explanation.
I wear glasses but when i fly I don’t wear em in goggles. The transporter goggles didn’t pull out far enough for me. NO PROBLEM. On thingiverse you can find a file to 3D print an extension! It uses magnets. I saved money just using clear packaging tape.
So distinguished with a beard, Kelly ✌🏻 1:30 that would've been a thrown bell for me, lol. oh... so the Baby Ape inside WAS a bad idea... nOw ya tell me... speaking of...recommendations for upgrade on motors Tiny Hawk 3 (whoop)? i trashed mine with iron dust. (Kriiiiisssss help) probably a video on this, point me away👍🏼
Hey Brett! First of all, l agree with you. Kelly's beard suits him well! Secondly, Baby Ape indoors... oh boy! Finally, I don't know if 3rd party motors would be risky or not, in terms of potentially burning out an esc, and in an all-in-one board, that means the whole board would be a goner. I have not looked into any options though. Their stock replacement motors are solder-free -- just connect the plug and screw them in. You know I don't like soldering!
@@SunriseWaterMedia Eloquent response and makes perfect sense ✌🏻duh... didn't realize they were plugin 🙃 just got frustrated and packed the little guy away... BUT realize I need the little guy to play in the clean warehouse (no more Zamboni garage... silly me)
I have contemplated BNF, but half the fun of fpv is building the drone, and then if your me, rebuilding it several more times until it’s as “perfect” as I can get it.
I have a Tinyhawk 3 (not the freestyle) RTF kit. Have had it for awhile and fly acro pretty well by now. Thought of upgrading the radio to the Zorro. Geez, I spent so much time trying to figure out how to set it up and never could get it to bind so I chucked it in a drawer. I'll stick with RTF kits for now. Next will be the Tinyhawk Freestyle. Maybe after that I'll just go DJI. I bet DJI setups are easier. I'm in this for the fun, not the frustration.
Exactly our perspective as well. We fly for fun, not frustration. 😄 DJI makes it really easy, and if you're able to spend the money, that's definitely our recommendation for a high quality FPV camera system.
Nothing is wrong with them; they are just entry level, and the goggles are not the most comfortable and are lacking some useful features. But, the price is good!
Why is it that all the TH-camr reviewing the tiny hawk 3 freestyle hd on channel r6 I’m on the channel r1 do you just have to manually select it is it better performing?
I don't remember why we have it on R6. Maybe we were flying it at the same time as other pilots on different channels. I've actually heard that R1 is the strongest channel for HD Zero, but don't quote me on that. Either way, you are fine on R1.
I have used the FrSky version on the simulator, but don't think I've tried the ELRS version. I can try it out next week and get back to you if you'd like.
Yes the ELRS version works on DRL Simulator and Tryp FPV I have tried both. But the left gimbal failed in a few weeks of light use. Get a Radiomaster Boxer.
@@mortonbeard2240 I bought a KIWI face pad ($20) for the Quest 2 and duct taped it onto the goggles, then I wear 3x reading glasses (Walmart $6.00 which fit right in.
You'll want to hook it up to BetaFlight and turn the video transmitter strength up to 200milliwatt. There are many instructions on how to do this. The video range is terrible until you do this, but it's very easy to fix.
Yeah no, was gunna buy, but may as well stay in a sim and fork out for a larger drone or something which is digital, i dont get the whole "great for learning" when the videos all staticy and you can loose video while still being in flight? Thats flying half blind to fully blind, and that to me is not good for learning etc
Agreed. DJI digital is the way to go for us as the superior experience! But everyone has different budgets and goals for FPV. We actually did a video comparing cheap vs expensive FPV options. Check it out if you want. th-cam.com/video/B_sdfx8elGY/w-d-xo.html

Awesome! Thank you!
I have watched 2 hours of videos how to start. And this is by far the straighest video i have seen. Thank man 🎉
Glad it helped

Hello Kelly & Kris, thank you for the excellent overview on the Tiny Hawk ready to fly kit, 👍👍
Kelly you look like Obi Wan Kenobi with that beard! TinyHawk looks like a great option for getting into FPV.
Got to love that beard Kelly! The one good thing about these tiny whoops, they can take a beating #RustyFPV
I like to have a complete kit when I get a drone, so this works for me. Great review, and thanks for sharing.
You and me both!

Nice THF3 I still have the 2 👍🏻. Great review as always RSD for the win 🦾❤️
Thanks 👍
0:44 gotta love La Jolla ❤
This is high on my list of set ups for my son and I to try out getting into fpv.
Nice beard Kelly, might half to get one of these. Just for the fun of it.
Thank you this helped a lot!
I have contemplated BNF, but half the fun of fpv is building the drone, and then if your me, rebuilding it several more times until it’s as “perfect” as I can get it.
We all have different reasons for enjoying this hobby. It's definitely a satisfying feeling to build a quad and get it flying well.

3 to 4 minutes flight time??
Over 6 minutes, actually! Not bad at all.
@@SunriseWaterMediaWhat about 1s or 2s Liion 18650 battery like Sony vtc6? Would be good for Long range?
Pretty normal for a whoop that is why you buy lots of batteries.
What good headset works with this drone?
If you want the best, the official HD Zero goggles are nice, but the foam padding is not great.
Can you use the radio on simulators?
I have used the FrSky version on the simulator, but don't think I've tried the ELRS version. I can try it out next week and get back to you if you'd like.

why does nobody make a RTF FPV kit that is Glasses ready? I wear glasses and none of these really work with glasses.
🫤 Yeah, that's a shame.
I use a Harber Freight magnifying glass as a diopter. Works very well. Take glass from the frame, wedge it into your goggles.

Great video, thanks for sharing! The beard is looking great even though the flying is #RustyFPV
I appreciate it!
can i mount a mini gopro on it?
Not really. It wouldn't fly well at all. Possibly a Peanut or Insta 360 could do better.
Looks like you need some practise ypou a little #RustyFPV
Lol
Looks good!!! #RustyFPV
Thanks for watching!
it cost 220
For the HD zero version? Or the analog version? I'm this video we have the HD zero kit, which is more expensive.
Nice beard

Too much. Beta fpv aquila 16 set 230€.
That looks like a great option if you are wanting a quad with ducted props and an analog video signal. 👍
