Your video is so calming i dont know why, maybe i used to fish with bamboo rods in river banks and capes when i was in grade school, i miss those days man... You gave me the inspiration to fish again for fun and for free food, love you dude, God bless. With love from Pilipinas
Our traditional family knot - feed line through the loop twice. you then wrap 7 times + 1 "for the old timers who can't be here today due to various problems - most of them medical" as my granddad used to say. You then push it back through both holes and tighten w/ spit. The line will break before the knot will. It's very similar to the Berkley trilene knot but requires 2 extra wraps. My grandfather came up with that version of the knot many years ago and we have multiple family member with BASS trophies and have caught trophy fish all over the world with this knot. Everything from 2 pound cod to 54 pound king salmon.
I got a tip for hooking up fish and getting a snag. First of all you need to change your rig. What i do is i use a 3 way swivel, one way for your hook, one way for your sinker, and the other on your main line. Its up to you what kind of line you put for your hook, but for the line to your sinker you should put a lighter line. For me i use an 8 pound line. So when you catch a fish and get a snag (most likely from your sinker) you could yank the sinker out and reel up your catch. Been cliff fishing for 10 years. I always use this set up and it works 9 out of 10 snags. Hope you try this trick.
"How much spool comes off the line" 😂 I respect that even the pro shows that he might have a day without catching anything, not even a bite. Makes me feel better about my crummy fishing sessions 👍
Haha, you catching that slug made me nostalgic. When I was a kid I went fishing for the first time with my Uncle Frank. I had a bad long day of catching nothing and breaking lines on rocks. All of a sudden, I got something! It felt heavy too!. Up comes a huge red-orange STARFISH. My Uncle let me pet it, was such a weird feeling. I'll never forget the sight and feel of that thing. It was beautiful. It was too bad they wouldn't let me take it home. I'm not sure why honestly, I don't think you aren't allowed to. Then again, maybe it was better off staying alive and enjoying the ocean :) Not like we would get any use out of it beside a souvenir.
Pro tip: when in the ocean by rocks use a double sided drop shot lure of any kind of bait it dismisses the chance of you getting snagged on a rock and prevents you from losing a fish!!!!

RIP TO THE FIRST FISH . MAY HE NEVER BE FORGOTTEN .
with the amount of tackle you lose, you're the definition of fishing = "the most expensive way to get a free meal"
Explain. I’m retarded.
@@theone614777 Look up "Tackle" and you'll understand
@@theone614777 Tackle is not cheap.

At 24:15 I just see the fish thinking "Aw man, I'm getting cooked today"
Lmfao the ending made me think you dead from eating that fish 😂😂😂
loved the content, you got me into fishing!
"How much spool comes off the line" 😂
I respect that even the pro shows that he might have a day without catching anything, not even a bite.
Damn I was waiting to see another vermillion lol. Great video, that cabby looked amazing. Nice job Matts
All you need is a avocado bro!!!!!! Was that a Steel Reserve 211 in the boot at the end? RIP
Matthew Gomez and butter
"I like my squid bug and chunky" 😂
This was mesmerizing to watch, like how you kept trying even after failure!
Pro tip: when in the ocean by rocks use a double sided drop shot lure of any kind of bait it dismisses the chance of you getting snagged on a rock and prevents you from losing a fish!!!!
I'm not sure what you mean. Would you mind explaining what a double sided drop shot lure setup would be?
