I've had one Shark blade that was in a sample pack. 2 shaves and it went in the trash. I'm glad they work for some people, but I'll never have another.
I find that Tatara, Perma-sharp, My-blade silvers and platinum and Feather and sometimes Astra will give me an efficient shave. My hair is just too coarse and skin too sensitive to be using a less sharp blade. With these blades, I can get a BBS in 2 passes if I shave every day. If I let it go 3 of more days I have to resort to a 3 pass shave. My neck is like yours, it's so sensitive that it dictates the efficiency of my tools being used as the time. My 6S also gets hung up and it seems like if I don't have the handle lined up properly that's when it happens. Watching your videos over the last while, I can assure you that it's not the razors that are helping you shave better, it is that you are becoming a better shaver over time. Your technique has moved forward in leaps and bounds in the last while. Always great content, always great shaves, always great conversation, always about shaving. Keep up the amazing work! Thanks, Butch. I love chasing the unicorn as a Sub put it in a comment. I think it's great that the wet shaving community gets together and communicates with what works for them and what kind of facial hair they have. At least that's what I promote here on my channel and trying to get everyone I can to make the switch to a traditional safety razor.
Thank you so much for video. I’m new to safety razor but is looking for a good one for daily face and head shave. I’m looking at Merkur 34C vs Rockwell 6S . Based on your video , I’ll go for Rockwell. Thank you 🙏 for sharing helpful information.

Would you prefer an aggressive plate (4-6) with a mild blade or a mild plate (1-3) and an aggressive blade. Currently I like setting 4 with a mid-mild blade. However, my complaint is that the mild blades seem to only be good for one shave; by the second shave it seems a little too mild and pulls. I always disassemble and dry everything after each shave (just fyi). I’m thinking of trying the #1 or 2 plate with a feather blade. What are your thoughts on this?
I think you're on the right path. Everyone's face or skin type and facial hair is different. Playing around with different plates and different blades is part of the fun. With a feather blade I shave on plate 4. But I always shave at least 5 to 7 days of growth as well. If I was shaving every day or every other day, I'm sure that would change. I like what you're doing. I did the same thing and so of the rest of us and the wet shaving community. Keep us informed and thanks for your comment.
Great vid. Tried just using the brush on last shave. Still love my shaving bowl- seem to get the best lather. Used Stirling Lavender soap which was awesome. Great use of video effects to make the production flow. Keep em coming! BTW, up in Erie PA for a hockey tournament and have some of the nastiest weather I have seen in a while. Go Browns !!
Shark works just fine for me! But everyone's skin reacts differently to different razor and blade combos! Also, I recently got a Rockwell 6c, and it's awesome! I've gotten WAY less irritation on this razor so far than any other razor I've tried! And like you said, neutral blade feel on it too!
Blades sure make a big difference. I love my Razorock GC razor with the bulldog handle. I have the GC .68, .76, and the .84 and I like the .84 best. I’m still figuring out which blade I like best, but Feather and Derby are front runners.
Hello from Australia! This is my first DE safety razor, I'm still verrryyy careful but I'm determined to learn how to use safety razor. Great video too! Cheers!
Thanks for the honest review. I had a similar experience recently with an “Astra Superior Stainless” blade. I honestly feel it could have just been a defective blade but first off, the blade was heavily glued in the wrapper. Once I started the shave, one side cut pretty good and the other pulled a lot. I switched to an RK blade and the shave was much better. I’m still figuring out the best combo with my razor but so far I like the RK blades that say “made for Henson AL13”. I’m a newbie and enjoying the experience through trial and error. Thanks for the guidance!💈🪒
@@gabrielvillate2777 it already plans on which type of blade you're going to use. The more mild of a blade the higher the plate I use. With a feather blade, I shave with plate 4
I predominantly use a Feather razor but I’m thinking of purchasing the 6S. Do you ever find the head of the 6S too bulky to get under the nose area? Thanks for the videos!
It's not as big as it looks on the screen as it is in person. Don't forget I zoom in quite a bit when I shoot videos and it has no problem getting under my nose. Great great razor I definitely would not pass it up.
Try adding a bit of food grade mineral oil on the threading of the Rockwell. Rub and clean the handle and top-cap threads with q-tip - there's usually some material left from the machining. Had the same issue with my Rockwell, it became super smooth after. FYI that type of oil is safe for contact with the skin even when you have cuts.
Recently introduced to your videos, appreciate your candour. I haven’t seen or heard anything about a pre shave oil, thought? Any thoughts on Rockwell razor blades?
I use preshave oil but when I’m doing a review of a Razor for the first time, I generally do not use anything to help the Razor itself. Rockwell razor blades are OK but I prefer persona or anything by Accutech.
I've got a question and if you could answer it would be very helpful. I have an oily skin and Nivea balm doesn't go very well for me. Would you suggest using alcohol based aftershave lotions?
I bought a sampler from Amazon that had 3 different Shark blade packs. Shark Platinum, which I tried and loved. The other two are Super Chrome Blades and Super Stainless Blades, which I haven't tried yet. David used the Super Chrome for this shave. The Super Platinum might give a different result. I have about a dozen more packs to try before I have to restock. I will buy the Shark Platinum again. I have no opinion on the other Shark Blades. I got different Treet Blades in my Amazon sampler. The Treet Platinum was great and the Treet Classic was just okay.
6s with a personna cc blade is by far the best shave I've had. I tried the shark blade and it was a horrible experience.. great video and good job not letting the shark eat your face up!
It makes it easier if you have a shave soap container that has room to put some water inbefore you load your brush. That really helps lather the brush up and build a good lather on your face. Some of these soaps are thirsty and need a lot of water. A&E does have a good aftershave. I love their Tobacco Road soap, aftershave, cologne, shower soap.
Probably so! I use an alternative to that, being a squirt bottle to pump small amounts of water into the brush and then bring that to the lather on my face.
Yeah, Sharks are super mild. Same with the Derbys. I can really only use sharp blades like the Rapira Platinum Lux, Personna Lab Blue / Comfort Coat, Gillette Minora, and maybe an Astra Blue. I've tested so many blades that I have uncovered the few blades that work for me. The Feather, Kai, and Balzano Superinox I can "somewhat" use, but I have to really take time with my shave, otherwise I can easily cut myself in some places OR I have to use a milder razor that doesn't have a ton of blade feel. I can only use the Feather in my Overlander and be totally fine, so there's that. Also, I've been a bowl latherer for a long time and for the first time last week I tried face lathering and wasn't a fan of it. I can see if you were doing a quick 1-2 pass shave to get through your shave quickly, but I normally do a 3.5-pass shave and I need the extra lather and I like being able to manage the water / lather mix in my bowl as opposed to on my face, that way I can have a consistent lather for each pass. Plus, I like having that "barbershop" experience of mixing the lather up in a bowl before applying it to the face. It's just the little things that I like about this hobby.
I have not tried Shark blades yet. But I did find that Derby blades do a similar thing to me, thank god for the Alum block! I like to use a large shave bowl to whip up some lather. I fill it with hot water and put my badger hair brush into it to soak while I shower. Then dump the water and put in a couple of nice scoops of shave soap (Ariana & Evans products are fire!) and work up a nice thick lather. And it's still nice and warm when I paint it onto my face. Another great vid, keep them coming!
And adjustable Razor you can change the blade gap of the razor sometimes by a dial or using different plates. Blade gap dictates how aggressive the Razor is or can be.
Thanks for checking out the Shark blades. I got a little excited when they didn’t have the goo. Maybe I’ll throw a 5 pack in the cart sometime just to check them out. But I’ll stick with my Astras and Permasharps for now.
I like that you are honest in your reviews. There are some TH-camrs who for various reasons love everything they try out. After watching them for a while you begin to get bored. I'm going to eventually get a 6S sometime this year. I want to sell my T2 and my Twig first. I'm not a collector. -Kevin
I don’t blame you Kevin it gets expensive. If I had to purchase all of these razors that I use here on TH-cam, I definitely be in the hole or let’s call the rabbit hole. Thanks for your continued support. Much appreciated my friend. I like giving back to the wet shaving community with all the free stuff that manufacturer sent me.
While new to the game, likewise, I very quickly switched from mild blades to very sharp Feather blades and similar - and a more aggressive setting on my adjustable. When it comes to preventing irritation, a hot towel pre-shave will help a lot. I'm applying Protaso white as a pre-shave, then the hot towel. So I have an electric water heater as part of my shave kit...
I’ve never had good luck w/Shark blades. They’re too dull for me unfortunately. I’ve tried them in my mild all the way up to my most aggressive razors, just not sharp enough unfortunately. When I had a 6S, it shaved great w/Nacets for me.
Yet again another great video. I like seeing you try new products, and I always learn a new tip or two from you content. I too suffer greatly from a sensitive neck area, and thru trial and error I'm learning that milder isn't always better when it comes to blad selection. Keep up the great content!
Tried a 6C and got the best shave I've had so far with the 3 plate. I ended up returning due to QC issues with the handle and 2 plate discovered at different times but I'm thinking about giving them another shot with the 6S.
I tried a Shark blade by LordCo in my new Rockwell 6c, six plate. It was a decent shave for me. No cuts or knicks. I will finish my bulk Shark Blades. But I do prefer Astra and Derby blades. Ohio, Im curious how you would rate Sharp bulk blades. I tried one on six plate and it cut my neck up pretty good. Maybe I will try a three plate next time.
Good post. At first I used brushes and soaps. Now? Start with Kiehl's facial fuel often but not always, then Nivea gel ( sensitive). Shave with Rockwell 6C ' 3 ' plate, with Astra superior platinum blades. Often 1 pass. Sometimes 2.. Rarely 3. If in a hurry, which seems to be always, I don't use alum. I use Nivea aftershave balm protect and care. Finish with Bleu de Chanel eau de perfum. Expensive but worth it in my opinion. I will often use one blade one shave but not alway. Clean razor regularly if not daily. Brushes and soaps are fine. I'm sure they give the best results. I still use them occassionally but... I'm fine not using them.
Thanks for sharing that Tom. It’s good to hear that people can get great shaves by doing something a little different in finding out what works for them. I’m just out here making videos and trying to entertain subscribers and showing my struggles with shaving with a safety razor. It’s always good to hear, another person‘s perspective on wet shaving. Thanks for all your support.
Soap on the face and then enough water! Yah; that was what I needed to learn for a particular soap giving me irritation trouble. When I tried making the lather wetter, much much less irritation.
Shark Super Chromes are my daily favs. They work really well for me and my skin. Use them in both my Yates Merica and Henson AL13. Blades are a personal choice. What works for me, may not work for you.
For sure. There has to be a market for them or they'd be out of business. That's the greatest thing about wet shaving. Everything is Personal preference. I just like making videos the editing process and getting peoples reactions. Thanks for your support muchly appreciated.
Great video. I love my Rockwell 6s. Never tried a Shark blade. I will stick to my Personna Comfort coat and Platinum Blue blades. Have a great weekend. 👍💈
Maybe I'm misremembering, but I think I actually enjoyed those same Shark's. I'll have to try them again and see how I feel. I actually got a 6s with your coupon while there was a black Friday sale...worked with it. Got a STEAL of a deal. Nice vid! Edit: and yes, great transition from a Merkur34c
That's the beauty of wet shaving for me at least. Everyone's facial hair is different. I just like making videos to test products to give my opinion on how things work for me having course sensitive skin. Thanks for your support.
13 I also use the same model 6s but for a better sliding effect, my coatings on the cap and on the edges of the comb are polished to a high gloss steel. This effect is even better.
Lol i love my shark blades! And of all the fancy razors I own, 6s is still king. Smoothest damn shave I ever had. Least amount of nicks or irritation. 😂🤣
@@OhioShaves Haha! That's funny because the personnas you gave me didn't work well for me. I do however love that Henson you gave me! Still one of the best. 🤣😅
With this video & report , I must some day soon try a couple of Shark blades myself - again. I tried a couple of them early on but maybe something has changed in my technique, or my choice of razors is now different. I wonder what Shark blades would be like for me *now* ?
They only give you a few blades and yes, they are better than the sharks on my face. I would definitely get a variety pack to see what works on your face.
Awesome! Thank you! Free giveaways, every month exclusively for members only. I'm glad you made the switch as well. How has your shaving experience been since you made the switch?
@@OhioShaves your videos were key. Got oil, brush, soap, thayers, and Nivea. Took several shaves and some different techniques. But what made the difference was one TERRIBLE horrifying shave that I finally figured out my “map”. Now each shave is better than the last! I actually look forward to each shave now.
Interesting to see you have a bad shave. It's refreshing to see that you don't always get the most comfortable shave always. Makes things more relatable. Still looks nice and close but always another shave waiting. I recently got the 5/6 place for my 2c and man oh man is that a nice smooth shave. Thanks for the recommendation getting almost just as close as my Henson ++.
You should try bowl lathering. Over the years, I have discovered bowl lathering mixes the soap better than face lathering. Also, bowl lathering makes it easier to gage whether the soap is too wet or dry. Try using a bowl with grooves, wet your brush, add about five drops of water, and start mixing. Use that as a starting point to gage your lather.
You, @9897samf, may change your mind in a few more months. I did think like you do now. No longer, because since learning to face-lather better, this now seems to give a better lather, *at least for face-shaving*. Hydration level is not difficult to control.
Great video, I have some sharks from a sample pack that I haven’t used yet…I may not now. Question though, in your last video you were going to give the ‘merica razor away to subscribers… are you still doing that? Love your videos, your honesty and your directness.
Thanks. Yeah, the drawing is still on. I normally go a month or so to get quite a few entries and so I can do a few more shaves with the razor and compare it to others. But it's on if you haven't already entered make sure you do that. I give away monthly razors to the subscribers, who have joined the membership of the channel. Starts at three dollars a month if you're interested. Only 25 members so your chances to win are very high.
I've been using russian Astra's for a long time ordered 5 packs when I saw your video comparing the new blades. I also use feathers advantage of using a T2 I can adjust it for either blade. When I run out of Astra's eventually I'm going to try the Personna comfort coats.
Great vid, David and I agree on the Shark blades. Didn't do me any favors. I always appreciate that you give us your honest opinion. You didn't seem to like the soap at the beginning, either, but didn't mention it at the end. Did your opinion change, or did the experience with the Shark dominate the shave? Thanks, as always. ~Dave
When I started head shaving with the Leaf and tried different blades I also tried that Shark blade and the shave was almost as bad as with the Derby Green. Tried the Astras after that and it was a huge difference. Regarding soaps / shaving creams: Give Speick a try, they make great shaving products 🔥
Rockwell makes a great razor I have 6S and 6C I get less drag on the 6C I threw all my shark blades in the trash a long time ago I get the same irritation with them haven’t found any of the Egyptian blades to work for me
Hi David…top quality video as always! Regarding the Shark blades… I have them too and find them just ok but not the best. However, milder blades like these can be great for head shaves. Like you I have coarse hair and I’m a head shaver. Having a few different razors and blades, I have discovered that a bad razor/ blade combo on the face can work great for a head shave, and vice versa. Maybe you could give it a try sometime? Keep up the good work!
I’m not saying you should try it with the Shark blades. I’m just saying that for some strange reason , head shaves can be very different from face shaves. My most hated face razor happens to be my favourite head razor. Just saying…
Hi there , I come across of a product which use Rockwell 6 c is call Captain Fawcett Limited and I could not find any review on it , thank you for sharing your experience .
I sent my 6s back because 4 out of 6 plate faces were uneven, and the handles thread didn't have a proper lead and wanted to crossthread. I do feel it's a nice razor, versatile and reasonably priced. Im sure I just got a lemon.
Shark blades are a no go for me in my 6S. Too aggressiv or whatever. My skin doesn’t like them at all. Nice video. Another YT‘er mentioned the soap from Tatara to be very slick and good. 🤷♂️
I have an Edwin Jagger razor, and the Shark blades give me a real nice shave in that razor. I used to have a Parker TTO, and the sharks gave me an experience pretty much like you have having. I haven't tried them in the Rockwell T2 that I just got to replace the Parker (it died)
Thanks for sharing Jeff. Lotta people take it the wrong way and assume it’s a shitty blade and that’s not what I was going after. It just didn’t work for me in the Rockwell 6S which I had a huge problem with because I can normally shave with any blade in that. Could’ve been a dud, but it’ll be a long time before that blade gets put into a razor for a video. The shave soap wasn’t the greatest either. I’m sure that had a lot to do with it as well.
I’m sure it works for a lot of people or there wouldn’t be a market for that blade. Just giving everyone my thoughts and my struggles when it comes to shaving with a safety razor. I just love making videos and editing and trying to entertain viewers here on TH-cam. Having a lot of fun over here in Ohio thanks for watching my friend
35 I think and love your videos man and my question is what would be the best safety razor for me I'm just starting out. If u can let me know I would really appreciate it I'm trying to make up my mind from Rockwell or Merkur 34. But at the same time what u think is what I am asking
thank you for your videos! but I've never seen you try a Gillette Minora! It’s a shame because for me they are the best! as sharp as Feather. by the way, I'm a daily shaver
I've had a Rockwell 6C for a couple weeks now (mostly thanks to this channel) and, I've yet to get a great shave with it. I've been using a Wilkenson Sword blade with it which, in my opinion, is as irritating on my face as this Shark one is on yours. I'm just not feeling them. I did start super mild with the Rockwell - on 1 plate and then 2 plate. Then I went to a 3 plate and that was finally passable. I don't know if it's my technique (only at this for about 2 months now) but the Wilkenson/Rockwell combo isn't working for me. The shave with the 3 plate irritated the crap out of my face, too. I think i'm going back to my Leaf here soon (I ordered a replacement Twig for the Thorn that I had which was too spicy for me). Hoping the Twig will be better. The best blades I've found are the King C. Gillette ones, which are sensational. Going to stick with those.
I always buy variety packs to try different blades to see what works best. Right now I’m hooked on amzn.to/3HrIAId. No glue and super smooth for me and a ton of subs here
@@OhioShaves Yeah I thought about variety packs but ultimately just went with highly rated razors. And, can I just say - the Twig just arrived and I already had my first shave with it....and it's EASILY in the top 3 shaves I've ever had in my life. Used a King C. Gillette again, too. Amazing. No nicks, scrapes or cuts. I think the key for me (and maybe others?) is to use a really sharp razor combined with a very mild shaver (like a Twig). The Twig for me is much much better than the Thorn was. The Leaf blades are decent too but the King C. for me is next level.
The only thing I do not like about the Rockwell 6s is the ends of the blade stick out unlike the T-2 where they don't. If Rockwell could make the 6s where it covers the whole razor it would be the best in class. Not saying it is bad razor that is the only thing I do not like about it.
Shark blades are horrible; even single-edge ones. Tried the Merica razor with Astra blades and Goodfellas Smile soap. It's super-smooth, even on my uber-sensitive neck.
@@OhioShaveslook at the beginning of your video at around 10 seconds in the red stripes you got blue bubbles. You can also get some with red bubbles and I read they were sharper. Hope I don’t write to many faults here. Greetings from luxembourg 🇱🇺
The title "Shaving Fail using Rockwell 6S" piqued my interest. I was relieved to find out it was the blade and not the 6S that failed. That Shark blade didn't work for me either. It wasn't just the 6S. I've used a Shark blade in my 34C and Henson mild. Those shaves weren't good either. That's why new wet shavers should try a sample pack.
Been using my 6c for 5+years and love it. I also found the Shark blades did not perform well on my face. Anybody that can use these blades, HMU, looking to sell/trade
I had a bad experience with Shark few years ago. Some months ago I tried again Super Chrome! Entirely different experience. Blade is sharp, smooth and sweet in shave like very few others.Same results on the whole pack of them. So I like Shark Super Chrome after all. I guess you got a failure of the product line :)
Yeah that was not good soap. If if needs that much water just to get to functional I would have rinsed it off my face, found one I like and kept going. Understand your frustration with the soap there. It's strange, I know the 6c isn't the 6s but after using the 6c for a few weeks it's already in the retirement drawer. I got 0 good shaves from it regardless of plate/blade combo. Rockwell products just haven't worked for me. Again, I know I'm in the minority on that but my experience with Rockwell razors have been horrible. As for the Shark Super Chrome I love em in situations where I have to shave daily on the road and they work great in my travel twig. Even then I can only get a max of 3 shaves before it's in the recycle bank. At least I know the 100 pack didn't cost me much and I know they'll last a while in my travel kit. I will concede the Shark Super Chrome don't work well for me when in my every other day normal rotation. The Shark and Lord Platinum have worked well for me. The one thing I've learned in the 5 months doing this is the blades that seem to be recommended by the wet shaving channels don't work well on my face. Again, the joy of this we all find the routine/razor/blade combinations that work for us.
I don't think it's the soap. I think, from my experience, that lather needed a TON more water. When you see those white flyaways when lathering, it means the soap is dry.
@@OhioShaves I used the Shark blades during Shark Week last year. Went over a week with them, head and face shaves. I got decent shaves with them. Even the singles in the Leaf triple. Not my favorite. But I learned to trust the Egyptian blades more. Silver Stars and Bolzano's have also been decent for me.
Shark blades are too mild for people with a thick course beard. They are unusable for me. At least you have it a shot. The 6s is pretty forgiving on blades too.
I was completely shocked that the Rockwell and blade combination didn't work. I didn't think that was possible but with this razor blade, it is at least for me.
@@OhioShaves other blades that may not work well - reg Derby, Merkur, Rockwell(I think you’ve tried these). Voskod as well - to mild. They generally just suck for me.
26 It’s disappointing when a shave goes bad. FYI, don’t rule out the soap. Sometime back I was having a rough shave with a certain soap, razor, blade combo. (I actually tried 3 different blades) Tugging was uncomfortable. My next shave I used the same razor / blade combo only with different soap and I was amazed, it was like night and day. This hobby never ceases to surprise me. Stay warm👍
Yeah, the soap was terrible. But I can say the razor was just tugging so badly. But a good soap would make a huge difference. Thanks for the tip. Have a great weekend.
@@OhioShaves Just for curiosity, have you thought about using the 6S / Shark combo with a good soap? Would be interesting to see the outcome. Hey, if it’s still rough, change blades. Myself, if the blade is not working after a couple strokes, I’ll change it with a go to blade. Life is too short to suffer through a rough shave😎🪒

I've had one Shark blade that was in a sample pack. 2 shaves and it went in the trash. I'm glad they work for some people, but I'll never have another.
Right. It’s a love or hate relationship with those blades. Lotta mixed comments after this video. Just turning the pot a little bit. 😂

Thanks for sharing. The Henson is a channel favorite
@@OhioShaves I’m actually using a Rockwell 6C but in the sample pack of blades I ordered, I like the RK best so far.
Hi, thank you for the video. For 3 days of growth with feather. What dish would you recommend?
Not sure I understand the question
@@OhioShaves For 3 days of growth, which plate do you recommend with the feather blade?
@@gabrielvillate2777 it already plans on which type of blade you're going to use. The more mild of a blade the higher the plate I use. With a feather blade, I shave with plate 4
Hydration! That perfect combination of soap and water means slickness. Its like chasing a unicorn. lol
🤣Right on Brother 💈👍
Well once again a very informative video. thanks brother!!!
Awesome. Thanks for your support, brother.
I have been loving the Thayer's witch hazel. Thanks for that tip.
Welcome. I was harassed by the subscribers to try it, and I gotta say it’s one of the best products that I have used
I predominantly use a Feather razor but I’m thinking of purchasing the 6S.
That's a great idea. Thanks for the tip.
Recently introduced to your videos, appreciate your candour. I haven’t seen or heard anything about a pre shave oil, thought?
Any thoughts on Rockwell razor blades?
Been using the Rockwell 6C for about 3 years and really like it. Started out with Astra superior platinum and now primarily using the Feather.
I use preshave oil but when I’m doing a review of a Razor for the first time, I generally do not use anything to help the Razor itself. Rockwell razor blades are OK but I prefer persona or anything by Accutech.
@@OhioShaves Thx for explaining. I’ll try personna.
Learned my lesson years ago with Shark blades. Never again, I think the tuck minus one blade is still in my "never again drawer".
Good call there my friend
I've got a question and if you could answer it would be very helpful. I have an oily skin and Nivea balm doesn't go very well for me. Would you suggest using alcohol based aftershave lotions?
I'm not sure
What do you mean when you say it doesn’t go well? Alcohol-based after-shaves tend to dry skin.
Note to self no shark blades. The wife and I were watching she said wow that irritated him. Great video David can’t say great shave #2
My face still hurts. Waiting to get some ingrown hairs I'm sure. Took one for the team
My face still hurts 🤣 Worst blade I've ever used
I’ve been using the shark platinum razors and have none of the issues you all have described.
$8.93 for 20 tucks of 5 thru Amazon.
Do you use razors when you shave your head?
Yes, I do. What about you?
It makes it easier if you have a shave soap container that has room to put some water inbefore you load your brush. That really helps lather the brush up and build a good lather on your face. Some of these soaps are thirsty and need a lot of water.
A&E does have a good aftershave. I love their Tobacco Road soap, aftershave, cologne, shower soap.
Great observation I totally agree. I'll look into the tobacco Road. Thank you for your support.
Greatest thing about this hobby is everyone is different. Find what’s works and roll with it. Thanks for sharing. I am sure it will be helpful
Good to know! Thanks for your support
My daughter raves on about her derby single edge blades. I gave her a set of Rubies and she didn't like those. I don't dislike Rubies.
what exactly is adjustable?
And adjustable Razor you can change the blade gap of the razor sometimes by a dial or using different plates. Blade gap dictates how aggressive the Razor is or can be.
@@OhioShaves hmm i see. Seemed like someone said you can change the angle the blade is clamped into. Like some razors seem to literally bend the blade
Thanks for checking out the Shark blades. I got a little excited when they didn’t have the goo. Maybe I’ll throw a 5 pack in the cart sometime just to check them out. But I’ll stick with my Astras and Permasharps for now.
I like your choice of blades. Two of my top blades.
Nice prep work
I’ve never had good luck w/Shark blades. They’re too dull for me unfortunately. I’ve tried them in my mild all the way up to my most aggressive razors, just not sharp enough unfortunately.
When I had a 6S, it shaved great w/Nacets for me.

No prob! 👍

I too suffer greatly from a sensitive neck area, and thru trial and error I'm learning that milder isn't always better when it comes to blad selection.
Keep up the great content!
Thanks my friend really appreciate your support
I absolutely love mine, but the color started flaking off immediately. I traded it in on a matte one. Great video!!! Thank you!!!
You are so welcome!
Tried a 6C and got the best shave I've had so far with the 3 plate. I ended up returning due to QC issues with the handle and 2 plate discovered at different times but I'm thinking about giving them another shot with the 6S.
It's a winner for sure. Thanks for all your support.
First time I have seen an shave influencer give poor feedback on a product. Nice job.
NO bs here
I tried a Shark blade by LordCo in my new Rockwell 6c, six plate.
My worship ever with my favorite Razor. Razor and blade combination is a key to a good shave and it all depends on your facial hair and skin type.
#6. Great Video! Makes me feel better knowing a veteran shaver has bad days too. I am always learning something watching your videos😊
It happens. I was completely shocked. My neck still hurts
It’s always good to hear, another person‘s perspective on wet shaving. love my Rockwell 6S, #6 plate, Astra blade, just water shave.
Nice
Soap on the face and then enough water! Yah; that was what I needed to learn for a particular soap giving me irritation trouble. When I tried making the lather wetter, much much less irritation.
That's a great tip - sometimes the simplest things make the biggest difference!
Shark Super Chromes are my daily favs. They work really well for me and my skin. Use them in both my Yates Merica and Henson AL13. Blades are a personal choice. What works for me, may not work for you.

How long do you generally do with an razor? 2 times? More? #newbie
I’m not sure what you mean. How many shaves do you get out of one razor blade if that’s the case most people get 2 to 4 shaves some people get 10.

It happens. I'm not perfect, but I strive for it. At least with my shaves. Yeah, the 5,6 plate is my favorite when it comes to Rockwell.
Thanks for the tip!
This is the way
If u can't tell if it needs water when face lathering,,, try can foam
Lather by bowl
Weekend luxury for me
You, @9897samf, may change your mind in a few more months.
Awesome good choice on your part. Thanks so much for watching the video and I really appreciate your support of the channel. Have a great weekend.
That ASMR goes crazy
Thank you. Intentional but you're right it's definitely gives goosebumps
~Dave
I didn't care for the soap be there. Just was not slick enough it was hard to work with.

Rockwell makes a great razor I have 6S and 6C I get less drag on the 6C I threw all my shark blades in the trash a long time ago I get the same irritation with them haven’t found any of the Egyptian blades to work for me
The blades are junk for me too
Hi David enjoy your channel , the 41 one is one of my favorite stay smooth 😎👍
Works well
Hi David…top quality video as always!
Brother that shave was really bad
😅😆
I’m not saying you should try it with the Shark blades. I’m just saying that for some strange reason , head shaves can be very different from face shaves. My most hated face razor happens to be my favourite head razor. Just saying…
I like using Shark blades in my Facon kamisori. For me they're the best in an aggressive razor.

I sent my 6s back because 4 out of 6 plate faces were uneven, and the handles thread didn't have a proper lead and wanted to crossthread.
I do feel it's a nice razor, versatile and reasonably priced. Im sure I just got a lemon.
Sorry to hear that. What did you end up going with?
Shark blades are a no go for me in my 6S. Too aggressiv or whatever. My skin doesn’t like them at all. Nice video. Another YT‘er mentioned the soap from Tatara to be very slick and good. 🤷♂️
I call it like I see it brother. No BS on this channel just my opinion. You can’t like everything you use
I've had a relatively bad time with Shark, too.
Worst ever
17. I would love that Henson!

thank you for your videos! but I've never seen you try a Gillette Minora! It’s a shame because for me they are the best! as sharp as Feather. by the way, I'm a daily shaver

Russian
Well. They’re not made there anymore. Gillette pulled out of Russia. You better stock up
I tried one each of two different Minora blades . Both were good, and I guess average sharp.
I use Shark and Rapira blades to tame my Rex Ambassador and Fatip Slant OC . Shark blades tend to co-operate better with agressive razors.
That could be so, but my sensitive skin tends to like blades with some sort of coating on them. At least that's what I've noticed over the years.

💯
I absolutely HATE Shark blades, regardless of which variation. They are just dull and rough. When i heard you say Shark, I flinched.
Worst blade ever. Gonna throw those away I wouldn't even give those away to someone I didn't like.
@@OhioShaves right? 🙌🙌🙌

Great tip for all the newbies out there
Been using my 6c for 5+years and love it. I also found the Shark blades did not perform well on my face. Anybody that can use these blades, HMU, looking to sell/trade
Right on
I had a bad experience with Shark few years ago. Some months ago I tried again Super Chrome! Entirely different experience. Blade is sharp, smooth and sweet in shave like very few others.Same results on the whole pack of them. So I like Shark Super Chrome after all. I guess you got a failure of the product line :)
Oh wow!
Not a fan of shark blades, I feel they are rough too. I stick with Astra for the most part.
Good call
Thanks for sharing. I'm sure it will help some of the viewers. Appreciate all your support.
I don't think it's the soap. I think, from my experience, that lather needed a TON more water. When you see those white flyaways when lathering, it means the soap is dry.
It was definitely the blade. The soap was just okay
The T3 is a god brush
👍
I think the soap was the issue. Tartara is a razor maker, not a soap maker. Should have been a good indicator there.
It's definitely possible I did not like the soap either. One of the worst I've ever used, but it is vegan and it's hard to make a slick soap vegan.
Stop and put in a Personna. 😂
Right👍
Shark blades are too mild for people with a thick course beard.
I took one for the team. The soap is worthless as well. They have been begging me to try it, so they got my honest opinion that’s for sure.
