I've had a very good experience setting up an EMS sentry before dropping a Tesla tower in the center of a heavy nest I feel like orbital gas lacks the staying power needed to circle the entire thing

hey Takibo! with the number 5 you can call the guard dog back haha Edit: 15:50 now you don't have increased patrols when you finish the main obj, only when getting closer to extraction, this mechanic now let you explore the map for secondary objectives and sample farming, so basically you're not punished for completing the mission fast anymore
By the way, you can use strategem landings to close bug holes, like the resupply, SOS beacon, guard dog, etc. Anything that drops a pod, the pod can close the bug hole with a pretty decent radius.

@@doglog5748 *clearing throat* all things you need to know when using tesla tower: -most importantly (but you can probably already guess this) it's useless against bots since if you haven't noticed yet, they kinda have guns which can kinda snipe it before it does anything -bring. Stuns. Chargers and tesla towers go together like a wrecking ball and an ant, spoiler: the charger is the wrecking ball -backing up the last point its good to have a viable insta-kill type anti tank support weapon for said charger e.g. rr, eat etc. -when to throw it: Ideally at bug breaches and right after a bug breach since the time between bug breaches is longer than the cool down for the tower -now for where: I find you wanna try and aim it to either the left or right hand side of the bug breach because this allows it to do it's zappy thingy, is at a position where it (hopefully) won't team kill AND can even distract some enemies away from you and your squad to take they heat off of battle -The very short cool down is quite forgiving I find -also if you play with a group of friends it's good to inform them of your tesla tower shenanigans cos it certainly isn't perfect especially when it comes to keeping the whole squad in tacked -I understand in the heat of battle it's near impossible to keep by all of these things and I doubt I've ever done a mission where i did everything perfectly but I hope this helps overall
Turrets produce their own threat including the tower. Place them at 20m from breaches, bottom of the entry to the bigger nests to make for easy clearing. Defensive like assets 2 people with towers opposing sides. Team just has to focus on heavies only. Towers handle the rest. Also players can overlap towers with 20seconds(ish) of 2 if original isn’t destroyed
im pretty sure at 12:50 the reason the stalker didnt hit you is because it hit the drone instead (notice how it landed on your back and started sparking for a few seconds)
I think the Macine Gun Sentry does pretty much everything you'd want the Tesla to do. The tesla CAN last longer/kill more in theory, but that's not going to happen all that often. Meanwhile the MG is perfectly capable of killing a large number of bugs during it's lifetime and much much less dangerous to yourself and teammates. They definitely aren't the same and there are some highlights to either, I just think the MG is going to fit most of the same roles safer and more reliably.
Can definitely agree and with the shorter cooldown is I find more reliable even if just for a distraction (also forgot to mention you can get 2 up majority of the time if they arnt shooting much)
@@LordTouchMe-ow9fk You can technically get 2 Teslas up too, the duration is 30 seconds longer than the cooldown before cooldown reduction. Almost never happens in practice. Either they get destroyed, run out of ammo, or you move on to a new area. Sitting around in one place for more than 1 minute while a sentry ISN'T shooting anything rarely makes sense.
Press "backpack function" assigned button to stow guard dog, same as giving yourself ammo with the ammo pack Also, end-of-mission patrols were changed too. They only ramp up near extract instead of everywhere (I don't like this change much)
Bro today I started rocking the Purifier, Grenade Pistol, and Gas Grenades with a Guard Dog and Quasar cannon for strats. I have been having such a good time. The new Guard dog does such a good job of keeping bugs at distance so you can use the purifier charged shot. Being able to put it away when you’re on an objective with your squad keeps it from killing them as well. This is the most fun I’ve had in a long time on this game, it just feels so well rounded. I don’t play solo but I imagine it would be perfect for something like that, because it honestly excels when I go off on my own. You could also swap your GP for a senator and bring impacts for bug holes
@Takibo, Spiked just did a full squad coop with tesla towers and arc throwers and it was pretty effective. They just became an ever-advancing line of unstoppable lightning.
So, the short of why you didn't have bugs swarming you at extraction is because you're too close to the edge of the map for patrols to spawn. Patrols spawn from bases or from the edge of the map, but not if you're within a certain distance of the base or edge. Additionally, it treats the map edge as one entity, basically its own base. So, if you destroy all bases on the map and if extraction's near the edge, you'll get zero patrols headed your way during extraction
my favorite use of the revolver isn't to kill or solo heavy enemies, but rather to shred heavy armor off titans or chargers then use something else against the fleshy bits
The tesla tower is meant for stealth missions, as ut takes the highest priority in heavy aggro, drawing away the aggro of bile titans and chargers off of you, so you have a better chance at relocating alive
I started using the TT before the buffs came down, and I really liked it. Now it's just ridiculous. Before I could just toss it down at one door and it would almost cover the door by itself in a defense rocket mission.
I took it for a few missions expecting it would perma stun chargers but they just keep destroying it. If you play coop is also not great for bug breaches since your team is going to throw 500kg or orbitals destroying the tower since it doesn't have a ton of range so you have to put it fairly close. I will stick with the orbital gatling for bug breaches. The tower could be good for defence missions

The biggest problem I have with the Tesla tower is my teammates don't respect it. So, not that I throw it in shitty places that gets them killed, But I'll pop it, it will do a fantastic job of sanitizing a hole or nest and then peeps just drop a stratagem on it anyway.
I think you can only have one Tesla deployed at any given time. Each time i called a second turret while the first one retracted back into the pod as if it was out of ammo
what specs are you using to get this framerate? im on rx 7900 gre 16gb & ryzen 5 7600 6 core with 32gb ram and without any tweaks on ultra settings getting ~80-120fps with noticeable changes; after turning on the amd fluid motion frames im getting stable 80fps that just feels weird. any ideas how to improve performance? maybe turn some things down a bit?

Tesla towers are powerful until one single charger waddles over to it and 1-taps it with a slap. Arc Throwers are amazing when paired with the tower cuz you can stop chargers from destroying it without accidentally blowing it up like with a recoilless or 500kg.
Every time I use the tesla tower my allies spam stratagems on em. tesla tower is hard countered by impailers bile titans and chargers... making it useless lol. it has potential. Could be good, but on higher dif its too situational. AC turret is better. lol forced stand up ruins shock resistance suit against tower. guard dog has far less team damage
takibo complaining about seeing 5 impalers in 20 minutes of gameplay on difficulty 10. Meanwhile i get 15 heavies from a single bugbreach on 10. Sometimes the lvl 10 gameplay here feels like lvl 8, the maps are so random most of the time. But that makes it fun as well because you never know how much enemies will be at extraction. 0? 15? 500?
Should've been using hellpods to close holes since ur so limited. I throw my tesla at holes all the time. U should be using gas with tesla as well. Put gas between tesla and bug breechs, and the only thing to take it out will be Titans. I've used tesla since launch.
Tesla tower + Arc gun + Laser drone, just prone below the tower and shoot your arc thrower to enemies and incoming chargers. Last stratagem to your liking. Quite efficient ! Otherwise tesla + anti-tank mines, quite a good job too
They really need to make arc resistance 100 percent. The tower will get you killed by not necessarily even shocking you but either by staggering you and you dying to something else, or if you’re laying down, it won’t kill something before it steps on you. I tried running 4 buffed ones with my team and we all ran arc resist and arc throwers for fun. All unanimously decided the other emplacements are better or it’s just better to throw one orbital napalm and be done with the breach 😂

Deals with patrols if I'm still doing the longer objs/not tanks but that's why I drop eats as well pretty much anywhere on the obj site

An AT loadout or one with the arc to kill/stun chargers light complement the tesla tower really well!

Purifier to me just kinda feels like a bad crossbow for bugs. Really sad they didn't make it close bug holes with a charged shot.
It's really good on defense missions. Place it just in front of bug holes and watch the kill counter go up.
bring arc thrower and just lock the chargers in place while tesla ruins them or thermites/ stuns with grenade armour

To recall it is the same button that you refill from the supply pack. Default key on keyboars is "5".

If you aren't bringing a support weapon its a good idea to check out places of interest, there are often support weapons there

It doesn't kill a charger but notice they can't ignore it.... and therefore putting their exposed bits toward you every time.

Dropping strats, like the tower and resupplies on the edge of the hole will close it without having to drop it inside.
The default button for backpack function is 5. I have changed mine to be on the extra mouse buttons.
Tesla tower would be Amazing with the arc thrower. The tesla can kill any chaffs, arc thrower for defending tesla& stunning chargers. What a buff! 😀

The tower is powerful. Just make sure you place it in the open so you dont accidentally get too close. You'll get zapped instantly
