Quick tip from someone who have been using sentries for a long time. Don't put your sentry down at your location. All the enemies are firing in that direction already, and both you and the sentry will be under heavy fire. Place it farther away and to the side. This way it will be able to flank the enemy attacking you, or, if the enemies go for the sentries, it will create a distraction so that you can flank the enemy or escape. Think of it like a team mate, and find out where you wish you had that team mate right now to help you out. Also, it also helps a little to plan ahead ;)
Yeah it's honestly the best when you do it properly, and it's so OP because they can't shoot both at the same time. The distance for turrets is super long and should be leveraged.
Disagree with behind rocks - on top of rocks is best, near-miss rockets don't explode behind and splash it, and it's shooting down so if it misses it hits the ground and still splashes the enemy
A tip for ballistic shield : when you are running away from enemies who are firing from behind always select a support weapon so your shield is on your back and has a bigger chance of absorbing incoming damage.
I’ve had a lot of success with the rocket sentry. Also the 120 has been really goated for me recently. If you can drop it right on the bot drop it will take out some of the ships as they come in. If you also drop your rocket sentry, you’ll have loads of cover. I’ve been running eagle air strike, 120 barrage, quasar and rocket sentry.
I run a similar loadout that I think is more aggressive, more survivable and gets ragdolled less: Same armor (Heavy w exp res), but with the energy shield; it provides more cover more often, doesn't get destroyed and can be used with 2 handed weapons. Plasma Punisher as a primary because you can keep a couple groups of enemies in a stun locked state while making better use of cover with the lobbed shots, and take out the small pesky enemies much faster. Secondary has to be the Senator, being able to 2 tap the rocket striders (stagger them first with primary if there's a group), a clip for a gunship engine, and headshot everything else makes it too valuable to give up. Support is the EATs instead of the quasar, I find you have plenty of them and actually get more shots off than the quasar simply because all to often it's too dangerous to wait for quasar charge up. EATs is more aggressive and safer. Same grenade (thermite) for gaps in EATs. I find that the regular eagle airstrike is still better than nuke, unless you're on a bunker mission, though in that case just bring the orbital laser instead of the autocannon turret and keep running. Autocannon is great for aggressive solo, lots of dps, saves ammo and distracts enemies.
Love the ballistic shield loadouts even if they could use a little buff. If you only want to run one sentry on bots, swap to rocket sentry for the extra range. If you don't want to take a sentry and keep the loadout the same - try strafing run. Can take out fabs and some heavies with its recent buffs. Helps with managing the swarms of patrols if you can manage the eagle re-arm. Personally, I like to run this type of loadout with Eagle Strafing run and walking barrage. Walking barrage can take care of detector towers + take out the remaining enemies and fabs. That said, it can very occasionally whiff the tower if you throw it at a weird angle but that's pretty rare once you get a hang of it.
When you didn't pick up the rare samples in front of you at 4:53 and I went full "the triangle goes in the triangle hole... the tr- the traiang- no.. no not square hole..!" 😫
My current favorite loadout: Officer build, Light armor(the one in truth enforcers) The heavy smg, the senator sidearm, Strategems: EAT Personal shield Walking barrage Cluster eagle Works great for bots
IMO what's missing is damage output. Use the sentry more (off cd) and bring another one even. If anything I'd drop the shield, though that's sad bc it's probably kind of the whole point. But a stratagem that doesn't bring dps is hard to get away with at lv10 spawn rates. PS I haven't tried the plasma pistol, but I like verdict for chaff due to its large clip.
"But a stratagem that doesn't bring dps is hard to get away with at lv10 spawn rates" meanwhile me rocking jump pack like all the time for quick repositioning and providing extra dps from normally not achievable angles
@Yogowafel I do enjoy jump pack, but find it more useful for "hit the objectives and keep moving" gameplay rather than "kill everything then finish the objective" like juggernaut seems more aimed toward
Pretty similar to my build. But I love the feeling of making up my own roles and playing the game differently. With this making me want to be the tank. And basically block everything in front of me as the teammates flank the bots. What differs tho is before the new plasma pistol, I mostly used the verdict to handle the chaff. The explosive crossbow being amazing before the 60 day plan. But now much better. The new thermites help a lot. I would use the commando actually cause of the quick fire and having more damage then the 2 EATs, however you can keep it all on your back. And also double sentries. Autocannon and rocket are busted with how they can basically deal with every kind of enemy. And alternating between them helps a lot.
Seeing the first time you died reminded me of this issue I have rather consistently: at some point your character stops using shield with your one-handed guns and only switching weapons (potentially to a two-handed one, then back) fixes it for me.
Since I returned to Helldivers, I didn't use anything else but the Ballistic Shield, the crossbow, the Senator, the stun grenade and the Heavy Machine Gun. Additionally, I bring the Commando to take down Gunships and Turrets, and only use the 500kg. But getting ragdolled all the times from stray rockets really streched my patience at some point. ^^ Still, giving the HMG heavy armor pen makes it reallly fun to use it, since I can stun entire groups and then just mow them down with continuous gunfire.
Been runing this build for a while using the comado insted and the little laser pistol. I carry the tream each time and the only stratagm i bring that kills things is the mg turret. The ability to hold thew line while your team runs away is a great asset
I think it may be a good idea if you use senator as side arm (up close/ rocket strider) since you already have a crossbow and use gas grenade (which work very well with primary/secondary that has aoe property), you already have qc so the thermite I feel is a bit overlapping with it.
B-27 fortified commando/arc thrower/thermites or gas nades/ xbow / big iron and 3 stratagems as u like. Been loving this juggernaut build and with stims in use u will be charging foes. Beware of cannon shots wich will still os sadly. The team has a lot more freedom to operate while i pull agro.
This was basically my loadout for quite a while, only with eagle Airstrike and Rocket sentry. Medium Medic armor feels way better. You got the cover with the shield, and after the rockets nerf the survivability is very high. Faster and more Stims
Two things to change, change to rocket sentry, its by far the best rn, also , why dont you use the quasar for big mobs and tanks? Many times u were saying u got nothin to deal with em, while holdin a big ass quasar in the back lmao. Otherwise entertaining as usual, keep up the good work
@@kmins71015 And I mean... There aren't many options for shield users anyway. And especially when there's a primary for them so much better and more versatile than anything else it's not even funny.
I usually do not even go to the extraction if I cannot complete it before the destroyer leaves Nothing to really do there, you can just pull the patrols away and arrive at the last second (Kinda opposes the idea of having a loadout to be able to have more fights, though) PS I also think the ballistic shield is too fragile and unreliable, with it always breaking down from explosives and sometimes simply staying on your back, sure it can protect you from factory doge's miniguns or heavies, but still
Runner build is honestly the most broken build for bots rn IMO. Jump pack + quasar and then whatever fits the mission objective Had 0 deaths on multiple occasions because I can always get away with things
As much as I want to do a "tank" loadout like that vs bots all the ragdolling makes it look extremely frustrating to play. I think I will just stick to light armor.

enfilading fire stays winning
Underrated comment. You and your team also get shot less by your own turret.
Also put sentry behind small rocks or tips of hills, give it some cover

just went to the comment section to say this, as i use this same build as well

@ crossbow or purifier, senator or grenade pistol (with purifier), thermite and quasar or recoiless.

Dagger pistol is also pretty good, especially on frost planets

Rocket sentry can roast the drop ships now, but you have to be out of the back last area.

swap out the muscle enhancement booster for vitality for a tankier build.

Rocket sentry to aid in killing heavies
Orbital Precision Strike for quick work of detector towers
Either keep going with the Eagle rocket pod or just the airstrike for fabricators
Primary is whatever you want for cleaning up stragglers, I chose the dominator (cause extra rocket-y)
Senator for gunship engines and rocket striders
Free space for the armor, I chose a peak physique set for use with the dominator (and definitely not for those sexy bicepts)
Free space for the grenade, I went with thermites to help with hulks and to use as time delay fuses for hellbombs
