Just got a Freelander 2 and the nsf door wasn’t unlocking so I looked into it and obviously thought that it needed a new door lock actuator and was wondering whether I should attempt it or take it to a garage but after watching this video I thought it was worth a go at spraying the interior lock with silicone spray and to my surprise it works the lock unlocked and locks every time so a big thank you for this video.
Bloody hell another reply !!! I've got the exact same problem on the same door on my Freelander 2, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. I've been looking at TH-cam vids on how to change the actuator when I came across this, I will give it a go tomorrow and thank you in anticipation.
Bloody hell a reply. Thanks for the comment. Don't know if I made it clear in the video but do this to all locks once a fortnight through winter then one every three to four weeks over summer. To this day I've not had a problem.
@@pitobear61 I am in Australia so its just a maintenance issue as the rear door was sticking & I thought why not better than trying to replace it. The other side failsd a couple of years ago & replaced under warranty but the cost was amazing. This works a treat.Thanks
I was planning on changing the actuator on my freelander2 because my driver's side door central locking has an intermittent fault. Im going to cross my fingers and try this first!! If it works then you have saved me alot of time, stress and money.. will let you know how I get on. 👍
Just looked at this when you mentioned it on Facebook. My rear passenger door sometimes doesn't lock and the alarm has been going off. Could this be the cause? Thanks Jan

Did you door not unlock? Mine won't lock

Blimey, I just tried this on my Freelander and it works! A great idea and seriously worth a crack before spending am fortune on a door lock assy,

Any idea on what to do when the whole car just will not lock, ?
Could be battery in key fob. or the receivers gone. Low battery maybe.
