I had 6 happy years of Freelander 2 ownership. Have had to buy a 2019 MY Evoque. I loved my Freelanders. I love my new Evoque even more. My wife has her Freelander 2 and she loves it.

@@youtuberperson7947 Not really. I’ve had a intercooler hose split midway a 600 mile trip but it didn’t cause any issues thankfully and was a relatively cheap repair once I got to my destination. Other than that the only other thing I had to do is buy new tyres. The car was second hand with 5 previous owners and 150k miles. The thing is proving to be a beast so far!

Wow that LR2 looks good. Really good! I like the silver with black accents. Kinda wish mine was silver now. Mine is Santorini black and I added chrome accents. I'm thinking about adding the lower front bumper kit. Looks so much better than the sloped stock look. Great job on this!! Got my sub 👍

Hi, would you not agree that the dynamic side repeaters would look better strobing from the front to rear? I changed mine by taking the lens off with a Stanley knife and turned the board around. I then superglued the lens back on.

The self adhesive wind deflectors are much better than the ones that fit in the window frame, especially if you are in dusty conditions a lot as dust gets into the channel between the glass and the deflectors and cause the window to jam.
Yet another enthusiastic video! One of the upgrades you done later on is swapping the instrument cluster over to a digital screen in the centre. For the life of me I can’t find any documents or forums with this. Is it a HSE variant and a straight swap? Again, great video and I put my second order in with you guys today 😋
I love your enthusiasm, it's rather infectious. I'm looking I to LR FR2's. I'm surprised to see so far just how reliable they are compared to the Discovery and Range Rover. I expected the FR to be just as bad but I've been pleasantly surprised so far. Do you have any tips for common problems to look out for please? Possible future customer here if I buy one. I live in Cumbria so if would be of use that's for sure but I am still sceptical.

I'm having Landrover Freelander 2 TD4 SE year 2013. It is not taking initial pickup even though service is done in the last three days. As soon as brakes are applied it is taking very late pickup and on the climb, it is not moving forward after applying brakes which means not taking pickup even after giving absolute accelerator. Can you guide me or tell me what is the problem?
@@L663 no brakes are not getting hot, it's only a pickup issue. When I start the vehicle it runs ok but in traffic where the brakes are applied or halt at stop lights, it doesn't take the quick pickup. It's delayed by 4 to 5 seconds and sometimes doesn't take pick up after pushing full acceleration. Yesterday I was stuck in the middle of the ascending road. The vehicle said no to ascending on the road. My suspicion is on the diesel filter but it's only the apprehension.

Bonjour ! The Haldex is indeed omplex and does need servicing but also it is important to change all tyres at the same time so that they all are the same radius. There are not many Land Rovers in France so it is indeed hard to find local experts... maybe when i retire i will start a Land Rover garage in France ! ( I love France ... the country... the food ... the people... maybe not the bureaucracy... Brexit makes me mad...)
These are Range Rover Velar Wheels - they are 19" and fitted with 255 / 55 tyres... they are cheap on ebay as they dont fit the more popular Range Rover and Range Range Rover sport.
Englishman French Good point. I expect the vast majority of people don’t even tell their insurers when they do upgrades, especially wheels and tyres. They’ll probably have a nasty shock when they have to make a claim.
@@mrbennetts : I heard of one person that was refused payout because he had fitted a snorkel to his Defender, the insurance company claimed that he had not notified them of the modification, I think most people assume , incorrectly, that the modification clause means "so as to increase performance", they are looking for a get out ! The best upgrade I found for my LR2 TD4 was an ECU remap, with more than 20% gain in torque and HP. I also had the EGR deleted. What a difference!

Hi - yes it is just some carbon wrap film it was quite easy to apply.

Yes LR2 = Freelander 2 - both the same just for some reason Land Rover thought that Freelander 2 was too long for Americans to cope with as a name !
Do the 19” wheels affect the ride much? I managed to get a set off eBay for £200 but I’m having second thoughts as I love how smooth it is on the 17s
The 19" will make the ride a little more harsh but you will get more responsive steering and better handling...

Englishman French Good point. I expect the vast majority of people don’t even tell their insurers when they do upgrades, especially wheels and tyres. They’ll probably have a nasty shock when they have to make a claim.
@@mrbennetts : I heard of one person that was refused payout because he had fitted a snorkel to his Defender, the insurance company claimed that he had not notified them of the modification, I think most people assume , incorrectly, that the modification clause means "so as to increase performance", they are looking for a get out !
