Hi EV_Azz, Bought from Braumach. TESLA Spare Wheel Kit Space Saver Tyre for Model Y braumach.com.au/products/tesla-spare-wheel-kit-space-saver-tyre-for-model-y-sr-lr-performance-2022-2023
EV manufacturers are excluding spares for many reasons including saving space, reducing weight and reducing cost. For most drivers the EV is only driven around town and you are generally close to tyre repair facilities if you need them. Most people don’t know how to change a spare tire, so they’re not going to do it anyway. Both my Tesla and Hyundai EV vehicles come with roadside assistance which includes tyre repair or towing to a tyre repair shop. This is the option my wife and daughter would take. Further you have a TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) that will give you a heads up that you need to add air or find a tyre repair shop. If you are travelling remote or long distance a spare tyre makes sense to carry a spare. For around town, not so much.
We do the trip from Sydney to Charlotte Pass regularly, cheap off season accommodation at Charlotte, The trip will be a lot better, well, its already pretty easy, but once the Tesla Superchargers are installed in Jindabyne it will make local trips a lot easier.
Hi John, I love the spare tyre and may have to pick one up for myself for regular trips between Sydney and Jindabyne
Nice trip. I believe a spare is a must if you travel much outside the major cities. There are some horror stories out there for those who didn't
Thanks for the video. Can you provide the details of the spare wheel. Link to where you got it etc...
