I just got confirmed. At first my wife thought I was having a midlife crisis... now she's accepted it but depressed. I think eventually she'll at least see it as positive.
The best thing you can do is become the most devoted husband you can possibly be. Fewer apologetic arguments, and more romance. Cling to the Lord, and show as much of God's love to wife as you possibly can.
I sit right across the aisle from you and your beautiful family every week (daily?) and I never knew Julia’s awesome conversion story. Thank you so much for sharing this! I am a Gen Xer myself and you guys are spot on! Very poor to non existent catechesis, do not ask questions, and no resources. I found my mom’s 1961 St Joseph Missal and devoured it and that sent me on a journey to dive deeply into my faith. Thanks be to God! However, most of my generation, particularly those who went from preschool through graduate school in “Catholic” institutions, walked away because they thought they had learned it all and the Church simply had nothing to offer them.
