    There is no deadblow effect to the SRS, which is why i dont use them any more. Eugene Stoner designed the AR with a deadblow buffer system to eliminate bolt bounce. Without moving weight(s) inside the buffer, you risk bolt bounce and that can either cause an out of battery detonation, or a click and no bang. Had an AR 9mm experience an OoBD, and luckily the gun and myself were unharmed, besides my pride and the mag release. I use sprinco springs and standard buffers. Because thats how the rifle was designed to operate. The Kynshot hydraulic buffer is the better alternative to the traditional buffer. Flat wire springs are nice too. Grease can quiet the cheese grater sound. And before anyone says GrEaSe AtTrAcTs DiRt... clean your gun, ding dong. Buffer tubes have a weep hole in the back and carb cleaner exists.

    Anyone else hate that grease? It was the 1st grease I tried and found that it seems to oxidize quicker than anticipated and necessitates more frequent cleanings. Threw my tube away.
    Good demo about changing weights. I have several units but never thought about switching the weights. Could come in handy. Thanks

    Looks like your review, tuning and install is for the Stealth Recoil Spring Gen 1 and Gen 2. Gen 3 has the cap machined into the recoil rod, looks like the method changes with the newest generation. The rear buffer block has a "pin" now rather than a screw as well.

      actually id say performance wise they are about the same. i have never owned jp but installed them for friends and tested. both suppressed and unsupressed. now the armaspec i actually do own and to me its easier and quicker to make adjustments on when needed. but if youre looking for performance gains as far as one vs the other id say they are pretty similar in function. nothing at all wrong with the jp by any means. Both of them beat the geissele super 42 in performance, which is what I had been running for years until these shock style buffer systems came out. the problem with geissele now is price honestly, when compared to the price of armaspec. not that the performance isnt great from them too, it is hands down the best buffer system until u get to jp and armaspec. with that said the super 42 is quicker and easier to change for damn sure, and works very well for what it is. anyhow theres my 2 cent rant

    I’m running a 16in barrel mid-length gas system with a JP low mass stainless steel BCG and a H3 buffer with armaspec and it ejects brass perfectly at 3 o’clock, I did have the H2 buffer and was ejecting at about 130 o’clock, but with the H3 it’s the smoothest it’s ever ran and so quit as well . But most mid-length gas systems you wanna run H2 for smoother recoil. Armaspec makes it easy and affordable to swap out if need to and that’s awesome ya know. !

I would recommend getting there Gen 4 if you haven't already purchased one that way you have the "C", "H", and "H2" weights already in the package to easily adust it, and right now they have a father's day sale going on where you can get the Gen 4 Kit for only $3.00 more than the Gen 3 Kit. I would recommend getting the Armaspec SRS-BB which is specifically for the .450 Bushmaster. If your going to go with the standard spring system then I would recommend either the H2 or H3 weights, maybe starting with the H2 since it's right in the middle. Luckily extra weights do not cost all that much. Good luck with the build, and thanks for the sub.

    Sooo.... Im an idiot and purchased the srs9 6.4 for my Nato 223/556.
    Yes, I shot with it installed and liked the recoil and feel supringly without any misfeeds or fte's However the only problem (which led me to the conclusion i purchased the wrong srs) is the bolt would not lock back after last round.
    Again, Yes i know NOW the srs is made for the 9mm but im not sure i can return to exchange. So with that being said. The only difference i can tell is the black plastic buffer is just an 1/8th of an inch too long which stops the bolt from moving back enough to catch. Would running that weight with that spring configuration damage the rifle if i corrected the length of said buffer? Or is it mainly the length of the buffers that makes them different?
    Opinions or suggestions?
    Let the roast begin!🤦🏼‍♂️

    • @TheDkb427
      @TheDkb427 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The length should be the same it's the weight that is different. Can you manually lock the bolt back with the charging handle? If so then it's not the length but the weight is too much for the gas to push it back enough to catch.

    • @BallisticSociety
      @BallisticSociety  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello, sorry for the late response. As far as a recommendation for an Armaspec SRS buffer weight. I would originally say that you'd probably be best running the H2 weight, however I would also recommend that you buy the extra weights and spacers for H3 and H weights. If your going to do that then I'd say buy the Armaspec SRS System with an H3 weight and also buy the H and H2 weights cause doing it that way will save you $4.⁰⁰ overall. Hopefully that makes sense. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

      I'm not entirely certain as I've never had this issue. I would probably lean towards the buffer tube being out of spec. Luckily buffer tubes are cheap enough to purchase and test.
