@Sparky Channel. Thanks Bill for a thorough product review of this Klein stapler. Definitely an improvement over the old style staplers with no insulated staples, the ability to use different size staples, and adjustment for hardness of wood. Definitely a great stapler for those in the trades.
Hope you and your family stay safe and well.
Yes, shooting the insulated staples is the key. Thanks, you guys stay safe as well!
Well, it's about time! Only 120 years have gone by since this was needed!
LOL! How true!
I'll wait till Milwaukee has one for cables...
I couldn't wait anymore and bought the 20v DeWalt cable stapler.
@@RobertLeBlancPhoto whats it like? I'm thinking about the same. I have a Milwaukee battery adapter to dewalt tool, so it wouldn't be that bad.
This will be great for Christmas lights! Super job Sparkman! The best electrical teacher on the Internet!
Thanks so much Joe! Yes, it would work on Christmas lights. Good thinking!
Very helpful indeed. Needed this. Loved the complete and thorough guide. Instantly subscribed!
Thanks Burt!
Thank you so much, this was really helpful!!
I have one , haven’t used it much , but good to have ! It will end up living in the bag , with the new Milwaukee M12 stapler !
Yep.
I wish someone would design one that could use regular hammer staples! That would be great
Yeah but the problem is most of the hammer in staples are bent on the ends
DeWalt does for $250
Thanks, Bill! Going to pick one up.
Enjoy!
Thank you Bill.
I have the red with black, from another brand. The sliding centering part at the front, on this Klein's, seems to be an advantage over that one. When stapling in awkward positions that I am not able to see the front alignment, sometimes the staple has pierced the cable, because it does not center it on the front. With this one, it seems that won't happen. Nice to see you. Blessings.
Interesting. Thanks and blessing to you as well!
The brand you have is ideal for the staples Hm Depot sells. I have yet to find Klein staples there. The variety of GB brand staples doesn't work with klein.
nice little unit.. way easy than hammering in multiple staples
Yes, it is. Thanks!
Thanks
This is a pretty nifty tool! Time to start saving up to buy one
Sounds good!
It’s Klein, so you’ll probably need to take out a second mortgage.
@@tywebbgolfenthusiast8950 nah its actually kind of cheap for what it does and how much time and smashed fingers it will save its only $40
Cool 👍🏼👍🏼Thank you for the info ......Sparky
No problem, thanks! 👍
Great videos
Just got one of these. On the back it shows there's a 31/64 size for 12-2 but apparently that size isn't sold anymore unfortunately.
Very good
I did residential wiring for almost ten years. I’m too used to using a claw hammer especially for tight areas, cool though.
Had this for work. First day, jammed every other staple. Not the quality I expected from Klein.
I shoulda read your comment earlier. I just bought one and 99% of the time it's jammed. The good side of the story is that I can still return it. 😂
Do like the cable staplers, but hands getting tired from age & like the DeWalt cordless cable stapler. Wish Milwaukee had one though, but, least someone made a cordless battery operated version😉
This still nice for tight spaces or short rough ins & runs imo.....doing large areas, I’d probably use the cordless or just good old fashion hammer & staple, since what we used to.
Cheers✌🏼
Cheers from San Diego! Yes, the DeWalt cable stapler is really nice and much more powerful than this one. It doesn't do the smaller staples like this one though. Thanks!
2 years later, milwaukee now has one
@@sunstyle52 yep, tried it & it’s different than DeWalt’s but still a good tool
Does this work with all staples or specifically kleins
Can it staple 2 - 12/2 or 12/3 stacked together?
Stacking is not recommend. But low voltage wires (Ethernet bis the only one I can think of) is fine
By code you can staple three together, and it is highly recommended
How well does it work with old hard woods? I’m old school and pretty fast with a hammer or even my pliers. I do a lot of re-wires and think a stapler would make stapling in crawl spaces faster and more bearable but worried might not penetrate old petrified wood. Also curious to what the largest single 2 conductor it staples and will it staple pairs.
It doesnt, I was putting cat 6 in an old barn Saturday and literally some of the staples pulled out from the weight of a single cat 6. I used it, better than hand driving, but none of them went in properly, even in regular pine, and it misfired frequently.
Yeah well we all got use to our hammer. We are all experts now, thanks Klein 🙄 haha, I love the tool, might get me one
Sounds good Timothy!
where's the 4' sensor to tell you when to pull the trigger?
Great video! Thanks for share, this machine works in concrete or brick walls?
Thanks! No, it won't work on concrete or brick walls.
How many 14/2 12/2 can in staple. Single or double?
Hi sparky! My son wants to know, if this this stapler is air pressure, electrical, or rechargeable?
It's a hand stapler, no power except you.
I am surprised milwaukee dosen't have one for there 18v platform, oh crap I just gave them a idea!
Too heavy 😪
12 volt
Try stapling it to a fascia board under the eaves.
I have found this tool has real problems. You would think by having the cable inserted through the U shaped guide your problems are over. However, twice by two different technicians they put a staple right through the cable even though it was inserted within the U guide for that cable. It appears there must be some very straight alignment of the entire stapler with the cable itself in order to minimize that. This appears to be because the staple shoots out a good bit behind the actual U guide which creates a false sense of security.
Thanks!
This is exactly correct. I had this same problem, glad to hear it wasn't just me. Noticed it did it more in awkward spots which is the worst time to do it. I would also like to point out in the vid he uses both hands. I was on a ladder reaching out, it was very difficult
One for bx would be nice
Yes, it sure would!
Nice bro
Thanks Ryan!
Will it work on wall or concrete?
No.
Can it be used for AC/MC metal cable or BX?
No the staples aren't big enough
Sparky, At 0:32 you said: " These are 9/32 staples." I'm sure you meant 19/32. Is the 19/32 staple good to use on12/3 with ground and 10/3 with ground romex cable? Also, on all new residential construction, do you use 12/3 with ground romex cable, respecting all the new codes on light switches/control ? Thanks again for this timely information, I'll buy one soon!
HI! Yes, it is 19/32" and yes, the 19/32" staples are great for use on the 12/3 and 12/2 cable. I use 12/3 when needed due to 3-way switching, etc. Thanks!
How well does it staple (5) 12-3s :)
Hi Dav. It won't staple 5 12-3's.
If you have to follow up with a hammer and tap the staple in to secure the cable this doesn't seem like much of a time saver. I know it's a pain hammering in individual staples, I hate it, but this is a problem in need of a better solution. Give me a Milwaukee 12V stapler with the same cable capacities as this and I'm in.
I want that
Hi Dave!
👍👍
Give that 12/2 a pull, and it will slide back and forth. Which really sucks when trying to keep wire tight and neat
you want the wire to be able to slide a little and not be pinched by the staple.
@@Noah-qt3rq Yeah, it is more about keeping the wire from being tripped over and staying neat than smashing it down tight.
All the brands of cable staplers are like that. One thing you can do is tap down the first and last staple with a hammer.
One thing I can't stand is hammering staples!
I understand.
cuz you arnt using the right staples
Anyone remember the Black and Decker Powershot stapler? It was made backassward like this stapler. I can't count how many times I shot myself with that damned thing because I forgot which end the staple came out.
Yes, I do remember. :)
does anyone know of a battery version of this tool
th-cam.com/video/B1OEG-jEz0I/w-d-xo.html
What about 14/2?
It works fine for 14/2 as well.
I bought one and like you they need to be hammered down to seat them properly. I am not really impressed by that.
I hear what you're saying.
🍻🍺🍕
Cheers with a beer!
12-3 and 14-3 is flat now.
Product does not work. A waste of money. The staples jam everytime and won't pierce your wall
Trash I'm returning it today
This stapler have bad reviews in other TH-cam channels because is no consistent to insert the staples in the wood
Thanks!
Scintillating
Thanks!
Worst stapler EVER
