Thank-you everyone for the positive comments!!! This is my first real video, so I'm truly humbled to read these comments. I'm just doing this as a bit of a hobby and not selling anything at this stage.... Maybe one day!

Just wanted to say that this is one of the BEST smoker build videos I've seen yet. I actually feel like I could to this myself now. (We'll see!) Thank you for using a stationary camera mount and not try to hold a crap cell phone as you attempt to cut or weld and ramble nonsensically in an attempt to explain your process. Seriously, this is a GREAT video. Hope you make more!

Very nice...I built an identical one, but located the smoke stack towards the front ( firebox) top side. I welded a 1/4" plate on the bottom, sealed the firebox side, and left open the far side so the plate would heat and the smoke was forced under/over the 1/4", over the meat, and exhausted back towards the firebox...

Dude! I thoroughly enjoyed the video, watching how you made this amazing looking smoker. I got into meat smoking a few years ago and use a cheap electric cabinet smoker and have been thinking of graduating up to a real smoker and building one of my own. Yours looks really robust and sturdy, good idea using an old compressor tank with its high carbon steel for the smoke chamber. Very, very impressive. That puppy will out live you I think! Well done and greetings from Great Britain!

I've watched a lot of these offset builds, some from pipe some from propane tanks. The way you put the rods together with spacers for your cooking grate was genius, and truly sets you apart from the guys making angle iron and expanded metal grates. Erock should watch this video. I still scratch my head at Erockxs vid, cutting the pipe in half all ghe way and having it spring open..... I don't have the tools or skills, so watching a guy as smart and skilled as he is doing that was mind boggling.

@@rafidalsabak4645 I own a custom smoker. 36"x24"x24" Vertical, 1/4" steel with 2'x'2x22" 1/2" thick steel fire box from Lonestargrillz. $700-900 won't buy that pit. That looks like about a 20x32, 20x36? without casters, expect to pay a bare minimum of $1150-$1350 for the one he just built. 10 years ago you might have picked one up for as low as $900 but not now. I have not kept up with what the trade war with China has done to steel prices.......could be 10-15% more. A well built pit made of heavy materials holds consistent temps and for a longer period of time. The steel absorbs the heat and re-radiates it back onto the food giving you a very even cook compared to those tin cans from the lumber stores. A few winters ago it was 29 deg here in SW Louisiana and I wanted brisket (I'am from Texas). That pit never missed a beat. They are worth every dime. I paid about $2475 with options back in 2010 and it would run about $3400 now...............I'd still pay it and never blink and I make less than 45k a year.
