“Off-roading is the intentional degradation of a machine in exchange for a smile.” That’s got to be one of the greatest quotes I’ve ever heard about off-roading. Seriously. That’s just perfect.
Man this is great to see and great to see companies like this really putting the effort into bullet proof upgrades. This is the type of stuff the Bronco has been waiting on to take it to the next level.
Sorry for your loss Kevin. Glad you made it there to be with the Fam. You take with you part of his legacy of being a car guy and the good memories that will be able to cherish. You also pass on his legacy to each and every one of us with each and every video. Thank you for that! Know he is proud of you.
Engineering at it finest. The engineer designs it but the user tests it to the extreme. Hopefully, future operators will enjoy all your work and finally enjoy a well quality build. Happy Trails to you both.
I’m sorry to hear about your grandfather. It’s always sad when something like that happens. Cheers to George and the APG crew for wanting and improving their products and standing behind their work. That’s integrity and that’s honorable in my eyes. He (and his crew) really want to be the pinnacle in off roading the Bronco (and I’m sure other types of vehicles down the line). It shows he has integrity to want better, to be better. I hope he does it!
Sorry to hear about your loss. Glad you were able to spend some time with him before he passed. Unfortunately, I don't think I could trust APG until we find out more about this hardtop disaster between them & ADV. You keep saying there are two sides & you're right. So for now, I wouldn't order so much as a washer from either. Because the one thing we do know for sure is that millions was taken from consumers & you appear to be the only ones with the hardtop.... And there are plenty of other companies that make a tie rod solution without the black cloud hanging over them.
Thanks. Very Informative. Always love hearing from the people who actually develop and make things... not just copy someone else's design and put their stamps on it. GO GEORGE(AND APG)!
Condolences for your Grandpa Kevin, and congrats on one awesome machine. I only wish I could afford all those upgrades, but I do love my Bronco anyway.
Sorry about your loss n thank you for a very informative segment on bronco upgrades and a few tips on down sides of upgrades as usual every modification take another one or two more to make it work right n bomb proof
Good to see you're hanging in well. Looks like the only thing you drive that's "Kevin Proof" is Brittney! Amazing engineering. I'd like to see a smaller 4x4, about the size of the TJ or YJ but with modernized interior comforts, and still built for "Go". Guess that's what Builders are for. LiteBriteNationBendsInTheRoad!
I realize the vast challenges at hand, but seriously imagine what vehicles could be like if Manufacturers actually made vehicles on par with what Vehicles on this level of Engineering and Utility driven application actually being put into OEM vehicles. Talk about a stark contrast to whats being sold stock nowadays in general.
Sorry about your Gramps Kevin but sounds like he lived a full life! Love the content on the new Bronco. This super in detail analysis from APG is awesome.
Im curious, I'm a current engineering student - you make a lot of comment in the video about "finding the breaking point" and using your experience for informing the parts design going forward. Im newer, so perhaps it was mentioned in the past, but did you have any in-line sensors during your run? Your video & commentary on when/how you broke it are I'm sure super useful from the perspective of the shop being able to tell consumers; but in terms of doing the static calculations & force distribution modeling I imagine a continuous stress record from actual in the field driving would be invaluable. Mentioned & sent the video to my partner who is MechE (I'm civil/environmental with a minor) - and she was also commenting on the same point. There are a lot of in-line force sensors that should be able to bolt onto or button to the part itself & take readings during an entire trail run. If that were brought back to the shop, you'd be able to offer both layman/driver advise on the limits, and the designers would have real world limits for any simulations. Id love to hear more about that design process & how theyre (/ you're) having an impact on the whole community in custom builds, especially moving into parts changes - i imagine the perspective y'all can provide as drivers and mechanics would be fascinating. More vids like this one would be very cool
@@Mr_Eyeholes unless you have a total pos you’re willing to sacrifice you see a lot of those 6k Toyotas every body panel destroyed on 1 ton axles and dual cases
So sorry for your loss of Grandpa. Prayers go out to y’all. Have you thought about a brake upgrade? Just thinking of all that rotating mass of those huge tires plus weight of the Bronco itself it adds up. I upgraded my brakes on my JKU and I’m running 35’s. If just running Off road not needed so much. But flying down the public roads at speed, may want to go with a much larger setup. Take care to you both. Love your videos
These videos about how they put together your Bronco are awesome. You are really showing what the off road community is about. Engineering, innovation and guts. Well, and cash. But I love this. ❤️
So why wouldn't you when you machine the attachment point machine it as one pice like the factory end wouldn't it be stronger with out a hole in it. Or is the machined bolt to allow it to rotate around the bolt. I love technical stuff and learning new things would be nice to know the answer to that question.
Absolutely phenomenal. Ours is one of the final pre-production versions, and it’s 100% better than OEM (better than our factory Jeep hardtop too). We’ll have videos on it once they’re ready for production & to ship out. 😊🤙
In Syria we dress black if anyone die from the family no celebration not Christmas tree nothing just we dress black for him and after that 6 monthes it's ok. And god have mercy on your grandpa🌹🙏☦️
Can you advise me? I have bronco raptor I have a modified off-road trailer that I tow a few times a month deep in the back country I’m also running a zero offset wheel with a 37 13 1/2 wide tire and running a winch on the front I would like to get a little bit more height out of my bronco raptor not much but a little more if I put preload spacer at the bottom of the shocks is that bad? I look at it from being a motorcycle racer which we used to call sag and static sag and we could adjust that out with preload adjustment, should I replace the entire spring? Or can I add a spacer nothing larger than 1 inch? The reason I’m asking you is because I heard you say something about the tie rod and a spacer and I understand that angle if it exceeds its limit could break I’m not rock crawling but I love deep back country travel lots of creek small river crossings etc. I guess you would call that over landing I eibach Lift springs and companies like FMI make the lower spacer, could you advise? I love the bronco raptor simply for when I go on long trips it’s just the perfect vehicle for me I also love jeeps I’m an owner of 17 jeeps in the past including a 392 any advice would be great thanks for all your videos I love watching them👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 i’m sorry about your grandpa but I’ll bet he was so happy that you were there👌

I'm sorry about your granpa, but as you said, when people live a full life and pass on surrounded by their loved ones, there's really not much more you could ask for. Rest in peace
While I can appreciate the engineering, it just makes me wonder why there is a lawsuit. ADV Fiberglass partnered with APG for the hard tops. Millions of dollars later, nothing shows and customers did not get their hardtops. What the hell is APG doing?!
@@LiteBrite Then why do promote them on your platform with this lawsuit pending? Makes me wonder if there have been other situations like this. The optics don't look too good 🧐
No one knows what the optics look like. All anyone has to go off of is a poorly written case file from ADV, who is refusing to refund people’s money, and a statement from APG. Everything outside of that is just speculation and assumption.
Sorry for your lose Kevin, glad you were able to spend his last few days with the whole family.

Condolences Kevin. As far as the comment of the Rubicon being the hardest west coast trail, IMO the Hammer Trails are harder. I've done both.
We agree! But the Rubicon is probably one of the hardest trails an average off roader might find themselves on.
I’d say Fordyce tho different in many ways is more difficult than Rubicon
@@richardagostino5085 No doubt about that, but the type of vehicle the average off roader has isn't getting very far into that trail.

No, just a scuff on the ppf luckily! 😁
